Tingly skies full of surprise
oh how I love when with surmise,
the little rascal aims his dart
as if it were, poetic art !

Arrow friend or arrow foe,
     until it hits you won't know;
the blush of love where friendship lived,
or ground to pulp, put through a sieve.

ln the lab of chemisty
     scientists create a key~
attract with this, repell with that,
believe in us you won't fall flat!

Is it not just happenstance,
just the right place in the dance,
or up the stair instead of down,
he did not smile so you must frown?

Love is still a lottery,
     you the fragile pottery~
when cupid's arrow aims for you,
there isn't much that you can do!

We Wear The Mask

We Wear The Mask by Paul Laurence Dunbar

After poem by Olabosoye Wemimo Olaoluwa

Love of our land's labour should make us proud;
The efforts, time, and energy put through...
Well enough to place our pride clear as vowed.

But we wear the mask of pain we don't plowed,
When slavery is to labourers in blue...
Love of our land's labour should make us proud.

Showers of rain ain't just of dusty cloud,
But of heavy downpour and not dew;
Well enough to place our pride clear as vowed.

Yet all harvest couldn't feed suppose crowd,
We become weary of need to pursue...
Love of our land's labour should make us proud.

Just an endless space to measure; unbowed
Hearts and heads under threat, government subdue...
Love of our land's labour should make us proud,
Well enough to place our pride clear as vowed.

MIDNIGHT THOUGHTS

Traveling through these thoughts of mine.
Thinking of all the things I’ve left behind.
Wondering what may come in future time.
Hoping for the pain to subside.

As were put through to take the test.
Doing only what we think is best.
Trying to be better than all the rest.
Finding comfort within our nest.

Yet in our struggles, we bring ourselves pain.
Trying to maintain a good name.
Could all this be pointless and in vain?
In a world so troubled we try to stay sane.

Nothing matters, except for love.
And if you get it, it’s never enough.
Fighting through it when times are tough.
Cause come on let’s face it life is rough.

Table of Love

You wont need the table of love
What was meant to be
was put through the letter box
You truly broke my heart in two
You've lost your tears of joy
and lifted a heart of stone
like a medal of spinsters honour
See me through the broken rain
My misery wont leave me alone
I beg of you
for things that needed to be done

Cant Escape My Past

once I was scared and alone
chills were running through my bones
from the thoughts I'd never find
a way to leave my past behind
there was no way to excuse
all the horror and abuse
I was put through as a child
now my mind is running wild
will there ever finally be
a place and time that I can see
a future sunny and bright
shining a more hopeful light
on a soul that wants to fly
but no matter how I try
I can not forget the way
you never truly could display
any kind of love emotion
turning me into a frozen
shell that's distant icy and cold
praying I can just unfold
what was done and make me feel
joy and pleasure that is real

You Dont Know My Story

My hearts been chopped, sliced and grated
By everybody who has hated
The way my life has been going
True feelings never showing
Hiding all the pain down deep
A happy smile tryna keep
Up the illusion it don't hurt
How I get treated like dirt
I can't help the way I am
Why can't others understand
I'm not a geek, loser or nerd
But my whole life I have heard
Remarks so derogatory
Take the time to know my story
Why I don't drink or do drugs
Then you'd change your words to hugs
Opening your heart and eyes
Finally you would realize
This little girl who raised herself
Without any kind of help
Is gonna stay drug free and clean
Alcohol will not be seen
In her body, I refuse
To be put through the abuse
Like other people from my past
Respecting myself and this task

   manes plastered down
     quarter-horses
   put through their paces
     lightning-like, whips crack the air

   puddles mirror rainbows
     sunshine peeks from clouds
   hands folded around cash
     spectators pray to gods unknown

Upstanding

For the years to come I want you to be upstanding
Cheering me on as I'll be picking up my accolades
For the hard work that I've put through the years
It was a matter of time before everyone saw my star

Some saw it as far as Burj Khalifa, Dubai
Under the desert skies full of humidity
And just like the towering skyscrapers there
I'll be piling one accolades after the other

For years I wrote in the confine of my mind
Until I was able to write in other people's minds
I live in most of them, that's why I even got here
For they didn't have to see the light for them to follow

Some saw it in the struggle as I labored to rhyme
Till it came so easy for me that's why I've  been delivering
Each & every time that's why I make you all smile
Cause its happiness I spread & spread something more ??

Remain upstanding just a little more
Till I take to that stage and say my speech
Cause all those days and nights lead to this
But it's all you who believed that have kept me going

Late Night Overthinker Heart

“It’s me against my own self
Fighting my own battles
The pieces of my heart still rattle,

Even when everything outside is quiet
Still something is ongoing inside me
Like a never ending riot,

When some part of me says I can do a lot with my life
At the same the other says it’s better to give up
Because it’s not so good to be alive,

May I look like world’s happiest person outside
But there is a lot hidden from this world inside,

Sick from this pointless societal morality
Music has always been my great escape from the reality,

The words of people penetrating deep inside my heart
But still my tears form the most beautiful art,

Sometimes {mostly every time} it feels like I’m a experiment continuously put through tests
Where I’m still doing worse than rest,
I just want to go far-far away from this place
Where I don’t need to regret my mistakes
Lost somewhere in the space
Where I don’t feel like disgrace
Somewhere, where I am embraced,

It’s me against my own self
Tired of fighting my own battles
But the pieces of my heart still rattle…..”

Tinnu

I still remember the sweetest day
when you came into our lil world ;
Sweet as honey
eyes twinkling;
Soft smiles
setting a wave of laughter;

An apple of eyes,
under shade of kisses
that mom and dad showered;
tender care
that lil big brother gave;
your giggles
that grandma adored;
and your smiles
grandpa’s entire world;

Who could think of you
Growing a responsible kid
Adored by teachers and friends
a dancer, a player,
Excelled in every field.

Little did we know of
you having a passion for studies
And beating best of your buddies
But you made us all proud;

My dear tinnu, such a great feat
No one did know
the hard work and consistency
You put through all those years

It’s been all worth it my dear
As your achievement
speaks high and loud
That you did it, you did it, my dear girl
You have done it girl !

Wish you shine bright
and rise high as sky the only limit;
Wish you be the happiest
as desires keep coming true;
Wish you study hard as rock stone
and be the best healer
That can ever be ??

Cancer Alzheimer's Park

The cancer in my head

Patently obviously

Is ever so slowly

Taking over

Me

Day bye day

So here's to you

Al Parkinson

My imaginary childhood friend

Who as a single child

I could truly count on

And kept me company

Way back then

For kindly taking the time to revisit

Me once again

As you are the only one

Through all and everything

I have been put through and endured

Has never once left me on my own

Stayed ever present at my side

Till this very present moment

Where we find ourselves now

Quivering trembling in fear

And as old as you are now in terms of age

Reverting deeply back to whence upon

You were a child yourself

Trapped seemingly unable to escape

The confinement of inside your head

Praying endlessly for nothing less or more

Than when someone

Most
Especially

A close loved one enquires

Can you remember

Do you in fact know

Who you are

Or I am

Victor Davis Hanson Should Return the New Criterion's Edmond Burke Award

He writes op-eds for Fox and admires Don Bongino, Ed Henry, Brian Kilmeade,
Trey Gowdy, Bill Hemmer, Will Cain, Jason Chaffetz, Stuart Barney, Jesse Watters, Raymond Arroyo, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin, Pete
Hegseth, Greg Gutfeld, and Lou Dobbs.
He predicted as a result of the 2020 election the country would be bitter, democrats would be blamed for making Trump into a monster, they would lose their power within two years and be considered a radical party.
He predicted that Biden would have no popular support, would not be able to put through any legislation, would never have a nominee for Supreme Court Justice and would eventually be relieved of his duties.
Even though most saw Trump as vulgar, uncouth, divisive and eccentric, Hanson would still vote for him. He saw Trump as a builder, dynamic leader, a regular guy from Queens and a better choice even with his bad boy attitude.

Too Little Too Late

Know of a lady
Who patiently waited

To at last be seen
Seen and heard

Given the merest scraps
 Biding her time

Time she watched fly
as the swiftest bird

Always warmed with coffee in her bed
that he chilled from his own on the couch

And if you ask him if he loved
his love for her would vouch

Yet he never sought to hold her
In the cradle of his arms

That he wrapped around a pillow
As to set off no alarms

Avoidant love is no love at all
Loves a verb not a word or some halfhearted token

Trinkets and roses and card bedside that's
her life as her spirit you've broken

never feeling the inclination to act in ways
Causing another strife

Till suffering year upon year
As his beloved wife

She said when she saw the flowers
the first in twenty odd years

The sight of them belated enraged her
Enraged her to the point of tears

You love non connection be honest
Save your cash and keep to your crib

If she could you know she would gladly
hand you back your rib

So afraid of being hurt you
Half assed your way into pain

Now rest assured at least from her
you won't be put through it again

Premium MemberHow a Perfunctory Poet Punctuates a Piece

A period here. a question mark there?
A handful of commas,,,tossed in the air
To fall all willy-nilly but he doesn't care.
Then he closes his eyes so he never sees,
And does it again with apostrophe's.

Next colons: and semis; are put through their paces,
And are frequently found in the oddest of places.
Quotations are more than just dressing or stuffing,
Yet often appear when "nobody said nuffing".

It makes reading a chore just to try to adhere
To a writer's directions of what to do where,
But you barrel on through 'til you get to the end,
Give your eyes time to uncross,
And then try it again.

Some poets abjure punctuation, for sure,
And though not a big fan,
I'm a reasonable man.
e e cummings, for example,
Responds to the call
By using little or no punctuation at all.

Author's note: To quote the author Cormac McCarthy: "If you write properly you shouldn't have to punctuate." Poets such as e e cummings, et al, apparently took him up on that. Please understand, dear reader, that this piece is punctuated incorrectly to make a point. And I blush to admit that I, myself, am overly fond of "quotation marks" and…ellipses.

Premium MemberThe Cracked Clay Pots

The old, cracked clay pots on the shelf
They've been there so long
I leave them there as a reminder
Life leaves deep wounds from wrongs

Some cracks are deep with crevices bold
Some so fine almost unseen
Those have been repaired hold the soul
But none can repair the genes

They are so old and unwanted now
Their shelf life ending soon
Their souls have been put through the fire
Only use is to be ground up and strewn
