Some say that Love's
imagination -- no medic
can plot and find; like
science disproves a soul,

better ice cream in a solid bowl --

some say love's a mere
occupation -- Bread and
Butter of the poet; the bard
and musician like snow-balls
scoop-up, compress and throw
it~

stick to the wall a vinyl or perhaps book;

my priest claims highest spiritual
veneration, after earth relocation --
pass the plate, before it's too
late...cheaper now
than after-hours' rate...

seems to preoccupy a world of real time
and space...

that which man can only psychically
place and trace --

Premium MemberAfter the Storm

After the storm with rain of yesterday
Condensation rises in the hollow
Cobalt clouds struck by the sun so far away

Swallows rise chasing bugs and crows follow
The sun behind the clouds cast an array
Shades of pink magenta slowly swallow

As seconds go by the sky doesn't stay
Dressed in the same gown with shades of gold
Nor the earlier one of cobalt gray

The sun reaches tops of the pines as of old
Now almost too bright for the poet's eyes
Just when she's ready to poor out her soul

With aged-spotted, wrinkled hands she'll wave bye
To her place on the porch, thoughts preoccupy

Not so easy for me to do.

Premium MemberAn Old Man's Advice

My young friend,

Please, listen carefully to an old man's advice:

When in life for battle yourself prepare,

With the number of enemies that face you, should

Never preoccupy

For

It is the small number of dedicated friends that

Stand next to you that counts,

Because

Each one of them equals one hundred of your

Opponents

Since love is what motivates their hearts

While

Hate is what propels the heart of your

Opponents!

Daedalus And Icarus

E'er thee an apparatus means to fly,
Ye equaling a part of chambered lofts,
Bestow upon thee that preoccupy,
Serendipitous thou challenges softs.

Ye, Crete's labyrinth denotes completion,
I shalt ere thee pleasure my dream to be,
Near its end, I urged sage words to my son,
Abandon naught for the gods watch o'er thee.

Ne'er neareth sea lest moisture heft thee down,
Go naught neareth Sun whilst thee is in flight,
Ere the wax in thy wings melt and ye drown,
Heed naught, heat melted, he sank in the bight.

Daedalus wept the loss of Icarus,
Goddess Nemesis said due to hubris.

Time-Less

It is strange don't you think
how time can have different tempos
at the same time
while I try to preoccupy myself with something other than you
the time passes
you could say in it's usual way
but then during its usual momentum of passing
I think of you
and my preoccupation with something else
is broken
and suddenly time does not seem to have moved at all
hasn't moved from tick to tock
but hangs there in between
a pendulum frozen
a clocks second hand suddenly aching to reach it's next graduation
of purpose
a purpose for a clocks second hand existence
to measure a moment

All the time in the world
the sands run through an hourglass
grain by grain tumble toward
the infinite
the timelessness in the nethermost
of a wishing-well
on a single thought hangs itself perpetual
as if in a solitary breath
can count the creaking, groaning springs
unwinding
aching from tock to tick
the seconds split
and each graduation of its purpose
the second hand existence
while I try to preoccupy myself
with something other than you

Envy

My eyes transmute to dark, forest greens.

(Isn't the forest supposed to be beautiful?)

She's beautiful, nothing at all like me.

I make acrimonious convictions about her, and

sadly, it provides me with such relief.

I shouldn't preoccupy myself with such maliciousness;

I am desirous of who you are.

Time Traveling
                      by Odin Roark

When time travels,
    Does the clock wonder
As it watches us watch it moving?

Does it see us gaze at numbers
      Like forgotten memories in orbit,
              A chronicle of yesterday’s journeys?

As time travels,
    Our glances recall impetuous youth,
          A gathering disdain for aging,
And hopeful resolve when we are old.

When time is traveling,
Why do we watch precise starts and stops,
Question ourselves of distance and time,
Preoccupy our minds with an end game?

Perhaps it’s because…

Clocks are made to travel,
Counting down the intervals we create,
The personal vacuums of measured life,
And ever increasing awareness of death.

All the while…

Existence remains infinite,
      Readily aware
              When one to twelve travels,
It is but by man’s limiting invention.

On My Mind

Get lost deep within your
thoughts
Mind focused on your heart
Teach me the secrets to your
soul, for I want to be taught
There's plenty of fish in the sea
but only by u I want to be
caught, constantly on my mind,
You preoccupy my thoughts
Satisfy my entire mind go
deeper then the outward
appearance, u speak to my
inner spirit. U keep it real, the
deception of my past u give me
hope. Tomorrows not promised
but if I stand still within this
moment I feel whole for u
opened up a door that I never
knew existed one that leads to
hope and happiness, I want to
continue feeling this...feeling
your inner being, your warm
caress the way u give your all
to a woman and nothing less, I
want you to hold me tight
every evening and kiss my
forehead in the morning wake
up by your side, spend my day
with u on my mind. Let me be
the woman of your dreams, let
me be the one your hearts
yearns for, the woman to fulfill
your needs. Put all emotions
out for you to see not holding
back cuz I ultimately want you
as well to fall in love with me.

Point Out Powers of P

The power of persistence,
ponders on perfection,
poverty pertains to people,
with partial privileges,
possessing parallel postures,
pursuing a proper position,
practicing profitable participations,
putting this potently poetically,
pursuing to press on powerfully,
penalty and punishment preoccupy
prisoners of pain.
