Bum blebees

Bum..blebees

On a warm, spring day
in…… May,
when there’s a hum
from the bum…blebees,
PLEASE,
just freeze
and……..listen!

For on that warm, spring day
in….May
that buzz and hum
does come
when young bees
are in a fret of sweat
learning their humming alphabet!

So on this warm, spring May day
when the hum of the bum..blebees
is buzzing lightly through the trees
just listen far and near,
and you’ll definitely hear
the humble, bum...blebees
practising their humming a,b,c’s.

They may, at times,
rumble or stumble
even jumble!
But a monotous, murmuring mumble
earns a teacher’s cross-grumble
No understanding of anything carefree;
the culprit simply removed to plan bee!

Call It Whatever You Want

It's the marketers in the room
Who must be in a state
We have a wine with a name
Impossible to articulate

There are basic rules to obey
When creating a brand
Simple, one or two syllables
Easy to remember and understand

Google, Lego, Cotton-On
Whatsapp, DHL, Bard
Nerf, Typo, and Shell
They work, cos they're not that hard

And the winemaker’s with us tonight
Brad, with his entourage
Will he agree with this assessment?
Or insist it's sabotage!

Bit-and-for-wag-thing
Brute-and-formatage
I've been practising all week
And the correct pronunciation is still at large

However, let me tell you one thing
That's not easily found today
When you've got a perfect product
Marketing becomes child's play

You can call it what you want,
You can dress it up as a clown
When your wine's as good as Brad's
You get to wear the golden crown

So please, enjoy tonight
Taste and savour every option
Because it's always an unforgettable evening
When you're drinking Buitenverwachting

Premium Member A World Without Magic

Where has all the magic gone?
Someone waved a wand.
It vanished into thin air.
Cos' that's where it belongs.
The wand has lost its powers,
It stands out a mile
It's hovering above us
Until we all find our smiles
A smile makes a difference
To everybody's day
A miserable countenance
Blows magic things away
It is hovering above us
Practising its magic
If we do not believe in it
That is tragic

Premium Member Spreading Happiness

Spreading happiness is the need of the hour;
Practising it requires so much of willpower.
Redressing others’ problems is always fine;
Empowering the weak at all times is a good sign.
Accepting people as they are should be your design;
Developing empathy for the poor is very divine.
Igniting an iota of inspiration is what people need;
Nurturing of these qualities makes one great in deed;
Guaranteed is the infinite joy, like this if you proceed.

Help the sick giving no scope to any inhibition;
Accept all, not troubling them with any admonition.
Pass on your knowledge to the untaught;
Pray for their welfare without any ill thought.
Impart values to the people for their better living;
Note that nothing is as great as forgiving.
Express your gratitude to the people who help you;
Surprise them with a compliment the way you knew;
Smile more, the whole world smiles with you.

Premium Member Politicians Or Magicians

a world of opposites
where all life benefits
tis down to give and take
equilibrium make

all does swing left and right
keeping the balance tight
but then there cometh man
to oust nature he plan

resources he does claim
dominion is his aim
full of self-importance
he corrupts the balance

he ne’er will go without
and drivel does he spout
as he then justifies
with mass of frigging lies

and his politicians
playing at magicians
with magic wand they wave
to make nature behave

arrogance man displays
practising evil ways
a world once in balance
now hardly stands a chance

man now walks the tightrope
and he has little hope
from side to side he sway
and then he start to pray

Constraint

“Honey, tomorrow is Allen’s baseball competition. Please, he needs you to be there. You know how hard he’s been practising for it. He'll be so excited to have you around.”
“Oh! Honey, if only time would be for sale. I'd buy it for a reasonable price. I have a backlog of work to do. I'm hunting for balance.”
“Oh! Dear. The kids need you as much as they need me. You have to create time for them. Find a space for them. You remember how distraught Karen was when you didn’t make it for her ballet competition.”
“Oh! Lauren, all I'm doing is for the family. Very soon I'll be on my own then we can go for a vacation anywhere in the world.”
“Oh! Honey. Please.”
“Ok. I'll be there. I'll postpone all my engagements for tomorrow.”
“Oh! Thank you, dear. Allen will be overjoyed.”

Browns Bookshop

millions of words all neatly filed
silently shouting please try me ,
open my covers escape to my worlds
i’m so small and neat you should buy me
here i could browse linger ‘til i drowse
under their awesome power.

but I wonder if at night
when they switch off the lights
and the town begins to slumber,
do all those words emerge,
mutter, murmur and chunter
practising their sounds
a cacophony that rounds,
bounds and re-bounds
from the walls and ceilings;
does the fiction vie
with those works that try
to instruct;
does the times
thunder at the sun
then in solidarity combine
against the shrill whine
of the weeklies and monthlies,
those frivolous glossies
to whom they are certainly superior
until just before the dawn,
when the world starts to yawn
they all silently glide, slither and slide
back to their proper pages
to wait with the patience of ages
to lure and ensnare me

millions of words all neatly filed
silently shouting please try me ,
open my covers escape to my worlds
i’m so small and neat you should buy me
here i could browse linger ‘til i drowse
under their awesome power.

Want all others to be true,
Forgetting its applicability to us too.
Always find fault with others,
Leaving not even our blood brothers.
When do we learn the value of civility
And stop practising meaningless hostility?

Chess and Cruelty

I
Practising something
Winning takes thinking
Like the world
Values curtailed, curled

II
Add anonymity
Online carefree community
Some will begin games
Not play; hope you go away
Courtesy questioned; charged with abandonment
Social contract corrected less fast (for content)

III
We play games
For variety, virtual community
Go everywhere, in His Peace, Shalom
Try always, to live your values, decorum
Yet, what shall one do? Use BLOCK!
ONLINE, we are unlikely to take stock
So play to see, as guest, good sport

Be Wise, but more, Be A Good Sport. The social - media editors overdo little problems ... I understand the tough balancing act. Just had these thoughts 1-2 years ago, when I played almost daily (CandyCrush & online chess).

Patience and Acceptance

Current times are tense and unpredictable
The actions of the rulers are untorgivable
The world has always seen injusilce
Think not it, only as a current practice
      Religions, philosophers and poetic angels
Pictured the world in different angles
The earth doesn't weep, but patiently encounter
The harshness, of extreme drought and Winter
By cultivating inner peace and universal kindness
We can stay grounded with practising mindfulness

Premium Member Practising the Presence

Mindfully observing thoughts rise and subside
For our attention they hanker
If we feed them not and in the vast void glide
Far distanced from noisy clanker
We offer no anchor for rancour

Going in deeper, we attempt to find the cause
That drew in fear and desire
To discern the truth, we put thought on pause
Consigning ego to the pyre
Revealing heart, all afire

So, ego smoke and glowing heart, soul flame
Misalignment cause of conflict
God search the aim so let us play this game
Head and heart meld, both with love inked
We roam the divine precinct

So far so good, bliss suffused, we stand erect
All nodes within form, in joy dance
Magnetic bliss currents burst forth unchecked
Joy in permanence happenchance
All because of head-heart balance

Mentality

If I would burn these inks,
Rather keeping it in,
It would be useful to describe our awful deeds.

Tears are untied bundles,
In my face/crawling down my rusty cheek,
Grieves are illustrating it's purpose,
And halt, it's not for me.

Our heads are stocks of unevenness,
Stalking and practising the devil's call,
Positivity we practice not
walking on the sinful aisle.

Realm of horrible things,
We see without fear,
Do without guilt/attempt or keep it in.

Stalked in our heads,
Are nightmares of depravity,
Or maybe not, something beautiful for ourselves.

Our minds are our tombs,
It buries us in silence,
And exposes us with naked and selfish notions.

Together We Are Unique

TOGETHER WE ARE UNIQUE
By Erastus "Popyeny" Shipuleni

It is not about me and you, never been.
It is about us, together as one,
That together we are unique
Yet together we are un separable

It is not about you neither me,
It about the unit and bold bond
Together we are strength
Share ideas to fight this pandemic

Let us unite during this difficult moment
Let's work together for the better tomorrow,
Combine our different ideas, merge as one
We are one from creation anyway
Why splitting ourselves?

Is this an opportunity to appreciate each other,
or a chance to know each other?
Although born as unique, still support each other
Practising humanity.

Hence, Be alert, Be connected.
Adhere to set regulations
Practice safety first
Be safe, stay at home

We Will Get By

Keep smiling through these hard times
And keep your head held high
It’s a crazy world right now
But somehow we’ll get by
Think of all the good things
Like not having to wash your hair
Or wear those tight jeans
You really need not care
For no one can judge you when hiding behind a door
Just remember when the video call comes
To keep the camera at the floor
Another thing you could consider
Is practising something new
Like train to be a divorce lawyer
After this we might need a few
The children will drive us mad
It’s what they’re here to do
But at least we’re shouting something different
Rather than WHERES YOUR OTHER SHOE
Its ok for the tv phone or iPad to be your new best friend
Among us all
I’ll bet this is a trend
One day soon this will all be over
And life once again can move on
We won’t need telling twice
And out the door we’ll be gone
We’ll breathe in the freedom
And chance to see people again
We won’t take family and friends for granted
We’ll be there just say when
So remember keep smiling
Keep your head held high
Some good has to come from this
And for sure we will get by

Will You Be My Quarantine

What’s all this
Nonsense
Inch tapes out
Everyone measuring distance
They call it
‘Social distancing’
Never heard
Of any such thing
After all
Man is gregarious
He, she and us
Add to it
That one more bit
About ‘Self isolation’
Living all alone
Not a soul around,
Absolutely none
But wait
This we’ve
Already been practising
Bringing into our lives
The much required zing
Some dark, dingy place
Lying curled
Avoiding the world
Dodging prying eyes
Inventing all those lies
Two middle aged love birds
Coochie-cooing
Doing just our sort of thing
Our love
Since turning on
Its ignition
Has always been
On the run
Yes, I’ve tested positive
For CUPID-20
Me, supposedly vulnerable
Though, not exactly 60
Now you’ll say
I’ve to stay away
Ok, take it easy
Just chill mate
I’m ready to co-operate
But with a condition
The world I’ll shun
But lock me up
With her
Let my Valentine
Be my quarantine.
