Ominous thunder, prophecy or merely a warning?
God’s hands clap loudly, oak tree or transformer must have been hit.
Portentous night has turned still and bleak, silence as a warning
Menacing clouds are moving ridiculously fast toward the east
This is an evening for witches, gremlins, warlocks and bats
I expect to see brooms in the sky; I feel threatened
The moon weeps, there are black clouds of thunder
I cringe at the noise, feeling more threatened than ever.

Were every breath an incantation,
Every word a prophecy,
Would I fear more this consternation,
Not writing for anxiety?
Were every word a portent, telling,
Every sentence writ, a spell,
Would my mind ever stop this yelling?
Could I my consternation quell?
Such large words to write and scrabble,
Though loquacious I am not.
Cease you, brain! this psychobabble,
My brain thinks an awful lot.
Would I fear to speak a sentence,
Would I fear to write a page
Were every word scrawled so portentous,
Trapping me in my own cage?
Is the poet bound by scripture,
Living by the fate he writes?
No! I’ll open up a fissure,
Jump the gap! I have to fight!
I am not the fates’ keeper,
But I choose for my own heart
That o’er these gaps I’ll be a leaper,
And on life’s stage I’ll play my part.
Were every breath an incantation,
Magic within every word,
Would I fear the divination
When I, my written words, had heard?
Were every word so filled with might
That with each word my power grew,
Would I, then, still fear to write
Lest every single word come true?

Autumn Scent
A scent of urgency carried on the wind
fills my nostrils with a whiff of a smell
I know all too well,
The trees, still green, don’t fool me one bit
(Chatter as they will in the breeze.) I am attuned,
to that crisp, paltry air carrying the portentous message.
Fall is on the prowl, and now the days
will flutter by like leaves on the wind
then a wisp of snow followed by a storm
and winter will be here again.

Scent of Autumn
A scent of urgency carried on the wind
filled my nostrils with a whiff of a smell
I knew all to well, “Autumn was adrift.”
The trees, still green, didn’t fool me one bit
(chatter as they will in the breeze); I was attuned
to that crisp, paltry air carrying the portentous message.
Fall was on the hunt, and now the days
would flutter by like leaves on the wind,
and then a wisp of snow followed by a squall,
and winter would be here again.

Wistful and withdrawn, I wander through the night
Feeling grim and melancholy, a shroud of darkness tight
Depression grips my heart, its hold is strong and true
A gloomy cloud above me, my feelings all askew
I hanker for light and happiness, a break from this despair
But all I grasp around me is darkness everywhere
I strain to shake the sadness off, to find some peace of mind
But my views castle pulling me down, leaving me behind
So I walk on, lost in whimsey, seeking a way out
Hoping that tomorrow will fetch something to shout about
For now, I’ll hold on walking, through darkness and pain
Hoping that somehow, someway, I’ll find happiness again.
For some portentous events, unostentatious activity
Without the extra burden of strained, searing captivity.

Portentous sky before the plum daybreak.
Just as night frights vanish, fading away.
Portentous sky before the plum daybreak.
The beauty and awe of a fresh day sake
What does it matter if you snooze or wake?
Such grace from an endless danger display
Portentous sky before the plum daybreak.
Just as night frights vanish, fading away

THEY RATHER LIFT YOUR CASKET THAN YOUR DREAMS
Dreams are made
just like beautiful caskets.
Dreams can be waylaid,
even in reality outskirt.
Dreams do come true
but death has only one rule:
that is, the inevitability of death.
With colossal demands,
a dreamer rules the earth.
Despite your reprimands,
your corpse is lifted up
only to later undergo a drop.
To lift the casket of a corpse,
it takes 6 to 8 people max'.
Now, fathom the possibilities
and probability of the visiblities
of those 6 to 8 people,
eradicating portentous evil
in a man's life when actively alive
and save a soul about to starve.
Let's lift each other's dreams in life
rather than wait for the coming of death
to lift our casket while dissipating wealth.

The yellow scraps perform a thrill during fierce storms.
The breeze turbine is a lofty pattern within local farms.
Amazed, I can spot concussive impacts in the wet stones.
Bursting a ball of fire to tackle to impel amply atones.
A golden ovoid floats through unfathomable seas.
In symbiosis, green clusters wave in the gentle breeze.
Portentous obscurities better the mighty sweep.
During this time, igniting was lit on cremated sheep.
Misty areas are evolving naturally to be wildly small.
Efficient turbines humming, the trees shriek as well.
The dappled shade of padded blossom subtly changed.
A tentative mid-year sunset will have utterly emerged.
Twirled, observing the shadow in youngster-like awe.
A rare bird split a point worm and devoured him raw.

Steeple lit by lightning loud
Moon that's full peeks round a cloud
Trudging through the churchyard mud
Unwise shortcut: THUD, THUD, THUD!
The sound is muted ’neath my feet
No one there I wish to meet
Sodden hair and soaked to skin
Contemplate my every sin
Thunder, lightning, crackling air
Time to hightail out of there
Prickling skin: can’t hang around
Portentous skies and groaning ground
Slipping sliding progress thwarted
Planned escape at once aborted
Through the storm the church bells chime
Shadowed figure… asks the time
Where he came from I don’t know
Neither did I see him go
Stood alone in worsened shower
Still his voice enquires the hour
Flight, not fight my first reaction
Once my feet acquired traction
Reached the exit P.D.Q.
Asked the time by who knows who
Homeward through the icy rain
Darkness asks the time again
Local paper on the mat
Front page headline tells us that
Town remembers Howard Peak,
Funeral was held this week
Police have found no weapon nor
The watch that he was murdered for

Is the rose,
subtle tact,
sweet smell
wonderful sense...
Portentous,
pink look,
pr yellow, white
blue, black
Manu colora,
elegant silence
in love
dialogue...
It is flowering,
petal
pinkish
rosy florid...
Queen of flowers,
uncrowned,
no corolla
passionate,
mistress of passion...
Offered
with flower love, proof of love
of those in love...
Delighted, fine gift
for lovers,
is and always will be,
rose, beloved flower... !

***An unexpected occurrence or event can ruin anyone's day***
Late Monsoon
She bares an enchanting smile like a crown
Torrential rain drenched her colorful balloon
Enthusiasm ebbed reveals portentous frown
Strode naked in the wake of a late monsoon

Atonement
Words laden with regrets spilled over profusely
Regurgitating blobs of ancient narcissistic deed
Awaken realization for vanity obfuscates reality
Enchanted by the force of hallucinogenic greed
To gyrations life dances oblivious towards time
Sparks amidst a storm ignites portentous skies
As Earth navigates apathy decimates the clime
Incredulous eyes evokes counsel from the wise
When youth ebbs spider webs embellish a face
Engrained memories from yesteryear reappear
The future herald adversities he must embrace
Bestowed clemency atonement overpower fear

There are no allegations that
My birthright is of a monster
Nor is there a pretense that I am beast
But one of the brutes
Is hibernating
In the recess of me beneath
The etiquette of a queen
Is to be poised, decent, and unique
But there is a leviathan
That has aspirations to be unleashed
For many decades past and future
This monstrosity continues
Pondering who or what will be
On life’s menu
Please take a step back
I can’t be responsible if there
Is a consequence of a full lethal attack
Read the signs and beware
There is a hellion in my soul
That desires to be disimprisoned
And it’s portentous
Because it’s gasp is only within
A few unsafe measurement of feet

~ A rage ignites the azure mountain sky
as affirmations crumble with resent,
your ashes weep, then settle in a sigh
still mourning from their sorrowing descent.
Your essence fills the black mephitic plumes
with vile portentous clouds of seared despise,
and, through the dust, annihilation looms,
for all that stood before fell in demise.
Tehama, you lay scorched within the thrall
that torched all hope within the western staid,
so laud the day those tears from heaven fall
to drown the solecisms that were made.
As cinders cool to coals of charred dismay,
the wind filled billows carry you away.

Soft the night's whispers stir her heart
Fresh the air's fragrance paints her cheek
Bright the stars glimmer in her eyes
Shrill the loon's note in her cry
Love's a fair maiden when Heaven aligns
Fiercest of predators if portentous her signs
