PORTENTOUS THIEF

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The pixie lept on sweet air, laughter spun from golden thread. Moon winked, and she tossed her hair. Said, "together let's abed! I took pixie's beguiling hands in mine, her wings aglow like crimson twilight wine. She laughed and spun me through fairy dust air~ romance and starlight tangled in my hair. Oh, pixie, you glittered bright (fey delight), your allure was so wild, so brief~ bewitching me all night portentous thief! bye!
"Sara, thank you so much for submitting this to my contest! You’ve captured the 'fey' spirit perfectly here. I was particularly struck by the imagery of the wings being 'crimson twilight wine'—it’s such a rich, intoxicating description that makes the pixie feel truly magical. The transition from the playful dancing to the realization that she is a 'portentous thief' is a brilliant narrative arc for such a short piece. You managed to make the encounter feel both whimsical and slightly dangerous. The meter was spot on and really kept the 'golden thread' of the story moving. A truly enchanting read!"
