Eye-Poppin', Jaw Droppin', Mack's-a-Snackin'!

Poodle-Noodle must Whack-da-Kraken?

Poppin

           Fireworks 
    dance in my eyes,
    you’re my January;
An unused breed of attitude;
             Poppin’
 in with an aphrodisiac;
My virtue is gift wrapped,
    will you break me 
            tonight?

In the Sixties

  
  In the sixties I went to university
    where I experienced much diversity

  For example, among fraternities
    mine went from ‘Kegs-a-Tappin’
    to ‘Pills-a-Poppin’ 
     ~ LSD, we were a-droppin’

  Athletics were a big deal too
    freshman year we were football champs
    senior year, listened to Led Zeppelin’s mega-amps  

  Then there was good old politickin’ 
    After Kent State life was great
    Semester cancelled, May 14 the date…
  To let us work for our 'favorite candidate'
    Mine wore 6-inch heels, raised my pulse rate…  

  Oh, I learned a whole lot in school
    ~ mostly, how to break the rules

Tis the Season

Poppin jays flies
on Neon lights
Hanker don't whisper !
As the Mighty Oak sways
The lavee squirms  forward
running obtuse

The dancers pontificate thought
lancing the proverbial boil
As an afterthought
The pied pipers never pay


The rotten beams surrender
pulsating dead energy
beyond the fold of avarice
Tis the season of Arbeit

Buried

I should had never wanted a women,
So fast to judge digging away,
A hole that leaves a mark,
On one of us today,
Weighing like a sea of spectral minds,
I can't find mine,
 you went for someone else,
I should stay in my coffin,
Joints poppin,
You tried to kill me,
First with insecurities then make me feel guilty..
It's your turn...

Crackin and Poppin

Back in the days, the Elders weren't lying.
Sometimes I get up and hear cracks 4 or 5 times.
The hip gets to hurting with any sudden moves.
Walk slow up the stairs, and hold the rail, fool.


Whenever feeling the urge, just slow your roll.
When shooting basketball hurts, you know you're old.
After doing some things we have to sit a little longer.
Forgetting we can't do things we did when we were younger.


I hear things Crackin' and Poppin' every time I move.
From the back of my neck to the top of my shoes.
Behind the kneecap, including hamstring and groin.
When I raise up, it's often in major slow motion.


Not only does your hair tend to get Moses gray.
The body tends to follow.  Maybe off by a day.
Then!!! To top that off, women go through heat flashes.
Just stay in your lane, and keep Poppin' and Crackin'.

As I Walk

The black sea of faces
I meet in the street,
With hunched backs 
from a menacing gory despair,
Sweeping across the land 
like a flood of monsters,
And dry lips a stamp left by 
the  ravages of hunger, 
With gloomy eyes poppin 
sluggishly at me,
As if I am an exotic piece of cheese 
from Honolulu,
Making me feel like a fresh sandwich 
inbetween molded bread,
Wishing I could Snape back to where I was,
And forget the nightmares people trudge 
in daylight,
For the nightmares drain all the flikers of hope left in me,
Hope of a better future 
that I have always dreamt.

My Cup Overfloweth

Limericks are a-blazin', trying hard to keep up
A-poppin' so fast, ain't nothing will disrupt
This limerick king
Is floundering
Need help to avoid my overflowing cup

Pop, Pop, Poppin

Pop, pop, poppin’
Never stopin’
There is no break,
From COVID outbreak. 
It’s late and I’m on my own,
Fireworks bang and I’m all alone
But the noise hits me
It tries to trick me
Is it my friend?
Is it my foe?
It all depends 
on who you know. 
Infection is definite 
It’s seeks and destroys 
Maybe there’s a benefit 
In the midst of the noise. 

Who is out there?
Setting up rockets 
Shooting through the air
I reach in my pocket
I put it in the air
I’m neither here nor there. 
I think they’re done
Another night of fun
Father has nightmares 
He’s ptsd and pissed
He jumps awake
Over and over again. 

I’m trying to listen
Beyond what I hear
I’m trying to be
One with my fear. 
Another rough day
Another rough year
But hope is there always
When the smoke clears. 

My pain is my best friend
It’s a learned thing
To take what you hate
And accept what it brings
Pop, pop, poppin’ 
It’s sure to end
And when it’s stoppin’
I’m alone again.

Flower Power

 Right before the sunsets
Can I smell your flower?

Is it sweet enough to eat?
take my time when I devour?

Oozing syrup
Never bitter Never Sour

Pollen poppin like a cherry
From one who was deflowered

Plucking petals she love me
She love me not

Her Garden remains
My favorite spot

A Love Group of Hope

This groups heart is really poppin
From love that is never stoppin
We are spreading care and kindness
Overcoming all the blindness
That's been passed around too long
We are making others strong
Telling our stories as we
Try to bring some unity
To others who have been struggling
With heartache that has been tugging
At them for days months and years
Only crying painful tears
But now they are not alone
By the words and posts that's grown
On our site, its getting bigger
We are pulling on the trigger
Of bullying violence and hate
Shooting it so far away
From victims of these attacks
We always have each others backs
Day or night it doesn't matter
We're all here to make the pain scatter
