I used to be
an enthusiastic lad
an energetic gad
about town
but time and tide
let me down
can't do the things
I used to do
who knew
it would come to this
with aches pains
spasms and strains
I'm running out of steam
it seems or so I've found
soon they'll plant me
in the happy hunting ground
with no midnight oil
or candle ends left to burn
then at last I'll be past
the point of no return

The Point of no Return
It all started innocently enough,
casual conversation. Just the usual banter at the coffee station.
A couple of co-workers teasing each other. He liked her laugh. If he was honest, her yellow blouse with pearl buttons was a special treat. The top button was undone and the fabric draped over her breasts in the most delightful way.
Sam thought back to an old Seinfeld episode. Something about breasts being like an eclipse, you shouldn’t stare directly at them. Oops, that ship had sailed. When his gaze returned to her blue eyes, she gave him a knowing look. In that instant he blushed. She touched his arm, smiled and said “Why don’t we go for lunch today? I know a nice place a few blocks from my apartment.” At that moment Sam knew he was at the point of no return. Damn it was good to be a young single guy in New York City.
For point of no return contest.

A crescent moon dangles in the distance,
whilst meteors jet across Prussian blue heavens,
leaving trails of grey ash in their wake.
An abnormal, elongated silence creeps through threadbare trees,
as an imperceptible breeze skims past my hair,
causing, for just a second, déjà vu—
a flutter between my muffled heart and a crushing ribcage
jolts me back.
Never-ending, frayed nerves keep me on edge;
the taste of insufferable copper taints my tongue.
Spitting it out—only for it to return,
haunting me like your last words,
replicating, repeating nightmares,
eating into my wailing brain.
That night: the broken glass,
shattered mirrors, overturned tables,
blood-sheathed floors—
became our point of no return.

Across the wandering life’s changing dynamic landscape,
I traversed following the footprints of destiny
the tortuous pathway in the undulating topography,
that winded for me, tracking the trail of racing time
to the amorphous future, taking the ordained shape,
Many streams in spate I had swam with passion
across the waves of somber squall.
With the buds of nascent hope clutched close to heart.
I chased butterflies in the blooming valley of flowers,
with dreams flying through the rainbow archway.
Drifting with the whistling wind in the forest,
the radiant rays from the sunburst sky
seeped in to enwrap me with ecstasy.
Navigating the wasteland at night I found your arms,
I saw love glow on dew in my meadow at dawn.
The spent sun sinks at the edge of the twilight zone,
across the disappearing trail of the time past,
marked by the fading footprints of fulfillment.
Walking the last mile, I’ve reached the point of no return,
the weary footsteps can’t take me back.

We spend the hours in tinge of pale
There's no tenderness quite right--
And more hazy moments prevail
Growing dimmer like snuffed twilight.
Although he's near the inky hues
Splatter into unanswered coos:
While this pained heart bears all
To feel his cold of whispers diffuse.
Shall we grate hours in tinge of pale?
This time... let me request,
The tiny stars to dart away
Beyond the ridge of moonlit crest.
My longing hands and warm embrace
Can't fill his icy space ---
How one-way is ardor's mantra
Point of no return... I'm out of grace.

The point of no return comes suddenly,
and without a whit of subtlety,
saying: I told you at the start
that blaggard has a darkened heart,
and no amount of rosy coloring
will stop his faithless plundering;
and still you go running back for more!

Have you practiced kindness
on the path you chose?
Are you thankful even
despite all your woes?
Do you realize love
is all that really matters,
but desire for great wealth
will leave you in tatters?
Can you let go hate
and forgiveness learn?
Bright light you will see then
at the point of no return.

Drag back the hands of time
our love has g r o w n in leaps and bounds
we've f~l~o~w~n with b~i~r~d~s many times, returning
to hold an olive branch—
our feet s.t.u.c.k in clay, molded by love~
we are now at a point of no return
Count the teeth in our mouths
many are missing to b-l-o-w ourselves a good kiss
our skin now w~r~i~n~k~l~e~d, and we care less when
we g~i~g~g~l~e like playful c h i l d r e n,
tingling at the joy of c~r~i~n~k~l~e~d clothes
Beauties have faded
handsomeness now f~l~o~a~t~s in thin a~i~r
our v i s i o n too feeble to s e e flowers
in their f.r.e.s.h.n.e.s.s—
our hands too weak to c~a~r~e~s~s,
to a~r~o~u~s~e a dead horse back to life
even when a once-dry ~l~a~k~e~
is filled with the ~w~a~t~e~r~ of p.a.s.s.i.o.n
We are now resigned to fate
our love is at a point of no return
old age has made love our only option—
no room for hatred, since our hearts p.u.m.p
only pure love as ~b~l~o~o~d~

Oops
I fell for it
I spoke too soon
I said too much
I'm hooked
I took the bait
Now my life takes a 180°
and there's no turning back

When the time comes to go,
it doesn't matter what I know,
or what bridges I might burn
at the point of no return.
When I see her standing there,
don't talk "reason". I don't care.
Don't think I'll ever learn.
I'm at the point of no return.
I'll think about it for a long time,
but those thoughts aren't worth a dime.
It doesn't matter what I discern.
I'm at the point of no return.
Scrutiny, my brain, the outside world -
all those things are quickly hurled.
A place inside now has its turn.
It's called the point of no return.

I'm
here
on the
point of
no return
no turning
to back-track.
It's not a place.
It's not a position.
It's a full stop, period.
It's a final decision time.
There's no dimension, space
to get a foothold, time to look back,
or to think about going back, returning
to those safer spaces to dwell and revive.
They have long since well and truly passed by.
The needle spire piercing through my soul of boot
is forcing me to take the first step to my destination,
quickly and incisively, as there is no way down from here.
There's no reverse, no going back, in time or space, only on, up.

Here he comes;
Back begging
For a refund from the Devil
After selling his soul
So cheap.
He's come to realize
He's been bamboozled.
Damn, he done definitely made
The mother of all mistakes;
Reeled in with ruse.
The Devil simply laughed
And said..."Sorry, poor thing, its too late!"

Reaching a point of new heights
Controlling life in tow
What will happen in the end
Praying to the Obelisk
Impaled by life and death
Joing the fallen
Have we reached the point of no return
Collapsing under the weight of the past
In times of pain we give in to are own design
Can we muster a great resolve before we fall
The broken image of the human race is shattered surface
The shards of truth cut the flesh of purpose
Tears of the dawn can shed a needed light
To realize what we've become
We weren't meant to live like this
To not know what is real freedom and prosperity
Can life glean, no longer set to bleed
We've known desire
We've traveled the unknown
We've obtained a vast knowledge
But we are unfulfilled
Pierced by the vile form of rage and hate
The stagnation for amalgamation
What does it all mean
To struggle, to wimper, To live, to love
To push forward
Or are we at the point of no return

Walk to horizon
In ever after there's chance
I go to twilight
