I swore that day, I'd never fall again
With tears of heartbreak dripping from my chin
A wall was built to keep intruders out
To insulate my heart in times of doubt
I thought the feeling died
Felt nothing deep inside
No one could hurt me, even if they tried

Buried in my heart beneath the pain
Beneath the bitterness, and loneliness, that remained
Slept a feeling that was buried long ago
Without the light of love for it to grow
I took it back from her
Forgot the way things were
But when I saw your smile, I felt it stir

The days went by, you put your smile on me
You scaled the wall, just wouldn't let me be
Then touched my heart with words tender and kind
And soon I saw the beauty of your mind
You came to me in dreams
Convinced it was a scheme
I tried to push you out of every scene

But while my eyes were closed, I saw your face
Two lovers in a passionate embrace
That feeling left for dead grew like a fire
My heart was racing, fueled by my desire
Baby you make me burn
My heart will never learn
I've drifted past the point of no return

The point of no return could be global or individual
but never is it in the middle.

It is a horizon of dreams aloft in hope held by tentative
strands of rope that weaken and deny what hearts are
seeking. It is love, stirred with hate that drips need to
bleed us, heal us and force our tired cope. It is a circle
never ending, a line never bending, and it holds questions
with no answers, like keys to kingdoms none can find to
turn or master.

It is that door, the door, where dear ones come and go,
ones who carry joy, hold us, love us, then, in time
they lack reasons to feel or the want to know us, so, no,
I mean, yes, it is not long-term, strongly rooted trust.
It is a strange, bewildering, momentous fuss that boils in
us until we bubble up our filthiest cuss.

It is same attempts in a familiar game of strange
ranging from old to presentations tweaked as new
that leave us standing without scent of a clue. It is
the reason creating all things we do and the matter
with our universal supply of glue. It is your craziness
fondling my insanity, too.

As a match, it does flame fan mankind’s fire to rise in
heat stroked red curls ever higher. It is the silence
that secrets our desires and the stillness of hush-laced
conspires. It causes human hands failed attempts to grab
sky-warm, star blankets, not to be human had.

It is a riddled fear maze forcing us to run, to race by men
with aimed happy guns, to quick stride far from addicts
selling sons and slowly consider embracing those we have
shun as we forgive ourselves for all never seen done.
It is another day, and, say, someday it might not come.

I tried to reason with you, but you turned your back on me
Tears formed in my eyes so blue, but you turned your back on me.

When I arranged to meet, you said you were working till late -
Then I saw you out with Sue, but you turned your back on me.

What went so wrong between us - I thought everything was fine
You swore rumours were untrue, but you turned your back on me.

Our son misses his daddy; he’s too young to understand
I prayed each night we weren’t through, but you turned your back on me.

I can’t understand why you walked out on your family
Why you’ve bid us both adieu, but you turned your back on me.

It was a cold, rainy September day
Dark clouds rolled above Redemption Bay
And the mist hovered over the old ragged dock
As a young man emerged from behind tall rocks

Each step he took delivered excruciating pain
Leaving him breathless, shivering in pouring rain
Sleep came creeping slowly, scaling his wounded leg
Enticing, urging him, sit for a while instead

With weighted, blurried eyes, he scanned the lonely shore
Gazing at the wound; pulsing, touched it and let out a roar!
Barely standing, leaning against the boulders, nauseous and weak
As intoxicating sleep sought to engulf him, warm and deep

Eyes wide, filled with fright, searching all directions
Frantic, he re-played in his mind the vast destruction
Seeing how the culmination of this day began at fifteen
And remembered the vow made upon surveying the scene

Angry, he had been, running all of his life!
From pain and the call to live free from strife
Helpless, he sat watching each wave roll in its turn
Relaying, that he had reached, the point of no return!

Here he comes;
                        Back begging
For a refund from the Devil
                   After selling his soul
                          So cheap.
                   He's come to realize
                 He's been bamboozled.
          Damn, he done definitely made
            The mother of all mistakes;
                    Reeled in with ruse.
             The Devil simply laughed
And said..."Sorry, poor thing, its too late!"

As you started to clime that ladder you looked like an angle ascending to the heavens. And for a moment just a moment you almost put a smile on my face.Like i told you before they aint got much room for people like us up there. People like us belong somewhere different. So as i lied there suffering alone with my own thoughts. I started to fell hell's brim stones crashing down on me. And the pain the pain man the pain. It started to fell euphoric and it was right at that moment i felt like i failed you. But i only failed myself. If you want to spend all of you pathetic existence wallering in a pit of your own misery then be my guest. Understand your demons mold you. But understand i mold the demons and they march to my command. The devil works in mysterious ways. What is mine is mine and it will always be. Congratulations this is a celebration we have finely reached the point of no return. And what happens next will change you i am going to dissect you. I am going to clime that ladder and look down at your lifeless body. And i will finely be able to smile. And i will smile because i finely put you back where you belong. In the dirt with rest of the insects.

We were young and in love
It was a gift from up above

You were my everything
You caused my heart to zing

You got a brand new job
Faraway with your uncle Bob

I went with you and left everyone
Because this heart you had won

Your new job changed you instantly
You worked long hours continuously

I never saw you and I got homesick
I missed my family and was always sick

I fell into a deep dark depression
Your love was no longer an obsession

It could no longer reach me
It only brought me misery

Looking back your job was everything
It meant more and I didn't mean a thing

You loved the power that it gave
Our relationship couldn't be saved

Power became your new lover
You loved her like no other

The love that I gave wasn't enough
I missed family and that was tough

I longed to be reunited with them real bad
It would mean I failed, could I face dad?

As bad as I wanted too, I couldn't go back
Growing up and moving out is so whack

This is a hard, hard lesson learned
that I was past the point of no return

The truth stood downcast in the lie,
Antarctica ice is melting;
Faster than scientists told us,
Point of no return upon us.

Warm air and less frigid water,
The truth stood downcast in the lie;
We were told not for centuries,
Ice cliffs hundreds of feet- falling.

All caused by greenhouse emissions,
Ice melting-  loss of habitat;
The truth stood downcast in the lie,
Polar bears, seals, penguins need ice.

This picture painted is so dire,
Severe storms, flooding and heat waves;
Destruction of Earth is real,
The truth stood downcast in the lie.

Point of No Return

Point Of No Return

Nor here or there we stand before creations
Stardust secretions with loving limitations
Heaven bounded in the lap of lachrymal lure
Multiverse in reverse as we euphorically endure

Immaculate infernal of soul’s conception
Divine destiny draws us to deaths deception
Holographic injections of celestial skies
Soothing stimuli of diffracted disguise

Fragile flowers falling into edacious eternity
Theatrically thrown upon mammoth mystery
Cosmic castrations of redundant rebirth
Sanctioned slaves of this emancipated earth.

The Point of No Return

When we were children
We knew nothing of this planet
In the wood we’d build our dens
Play war games with our plastic guns
And cowboys and Indians
Then I’d be the Lone Ranger
Or Roy Rogers with Trigger,
Sledging in the winter
Swimming naked in the lake
In the heat of summer
Playing doctors and nurses
With the girl next door
We had no idea what to expect
The world was an adventure
A great big planet
Waiting to be explored
Yet, now we are grown, we find
Life did not fulfil its promises
None of us grew up to be astronauts
Flying missions to Mars
Zapping the alien horde
With supersonic ray guns
Saving mankind from annihilation
So, we yearn for those simpler times
Those happy carefree days
A fabulous, magical time
In the land of our imagination
That wonderful world of our own
Where anything was possible
But, those years are gone
Never to return
Save in our dreams

Now halfway through your senior year,
you'll graduate high school in June.
Dear grandson where did those years go,
and how did you grow up so soon?

While searching for tree ornaments
tucked safely in our cellar space,
I found your old electric trains
still resting in their same old place.

I can't remember which sad year
they crossed the point of no return
and never made it 'neath our tree,
for somehow lost was your concern.

For years your trains remained unpacked;
for sure their worth did not survive...
their point of no return made way
for bigger wheels which you now drive.

The Point of no Return

It all started innocently enough,
casual conversation. Just the usual banter at the coffee station.
A couple of co-workers teasing each other. He liked her laugh. If he was honest, her yellow blouse with pearl buttons was a special treat. The top button was undone and the fabric draped over her breasts in the most delightful way.

Sam thought back to an old Seinfeld episode. Something about breasts being like an eclipse, you shouldn’t stare directly at them. Oops, that ship had sailed. When his gaze returned to her blue eyes, she gave him a knowing look. In that instant he blushed. She touched his arm, smiled and said “Why don’t we go for lunch today? I know a nice place a few blocks from my apartment.” At that moment Sam knew he was at the point of no return. Damn it was good to be a young single guy in New York City.

Point of No Return

Snatch my heart back
took my dignity back
grab for happiness
fought for peace
seized the drama
found calmer waters
point of no return

Expired living in misery
departed from abuse
no more feeling worthless
buried memories
erased thoughts
deceased feeling bound
vanished bondage
point of no return

Joyous life
smiling again
faded dark days
sunny days
self-confidence lofty
self-love
healed heartache
released trauma
forgotten deceit
Forgiven you
point of no return
