Point of no return

Drag back the hands of time
 our love has g r o w n in leaps and bounds
    we've f~l~o~w~n with b~i~r~d~s many times, returning
        to hold an olive branch—
our feet s.t.u.c.k in clay, molded by love~
we are now at a point of no return

Count the teeth in our mouths
many are missing to b-l-o-w ourselves a good kiss
our skin now w~r~i~n~k~l~e~d, and we care less when
        we g~i~g~g~l~e like playful c h i l d r e n,
tingling at the joy of c~r~i~n~k~l~e~d clothes

Beauties have faded
handsomeness now f~l~o~a~t~s in thin a~i~r
 our v i s i o n too feeble to s e e flowers
        in their f.r.e.s.h.n.e.s.s—
our hands too weak to c~a~r~e~s~s,
to a~r~o~u~s~e a dead horse back to life
           even when a once-dry ~l~a~k~e~
is filled with the ~w~a~t~e~r~ of p.a.s.s.i.o.n

We are now resigned to fate
our love is at a point of no return
old age has made love our only option—
no room for hatred, since our hearts p.u.m.p
             only pure love as ~b~l~o~o~d~
