The Pleasant Conversation

The serpent spoke sweetly
When persuading Eve
To pick the apple.
He intended from his first word
Her doom and an end to Eden.
How nice and how kind,
How sincere in his concern
He appeared and he sounded.
How full he was of hate
And a loathing unbounded.
How sensitive his tone,
How reasonable his speech.
His logic brought the fruit
Just within her reach.

Nursing Client

I eventually turned a nursing client,
She draws upon with codes to suit her plan;
All questionable bills, can't be silent,
With no regards to gut trying to scan...

What purpose its significance serves right,
Let alone object the view of value
Its seeker appraised towards such delight,
Found trailing compliment can't dare subdue.

Just like those days I've been calm to be nice,
Every night is cool, happy and content.
But now, I make threats look shy to entice,
Persuading words with gut's raging consent.

Be nice: you are a darling, but be wise
To fit into my heads, your words; off guise

Good Grief

It begins in barricading,
Anger, fear and then persuading,
Keep on beating,
Hearth and heating.
Face looks red and
Head overblown with intense containment.
I bubble up with the thoughts,
Sighs and shock at what they’ve brought.
Though hope of formation is lost,
Cascading thought of being
Part of such that, not conceding,
Is hurt of needing,
And creates a darker cushioning
For me to rest my head.

My Beloved’s Scent

Like bouquet of wine
sensually alluring
like the smell of rain
an earthy whiff of wetness…
The sweet aroma of spring.

Love is all we need
love is all-encompassing
our hope, our worship
The salty breeze of the sea
The soothing shades of the trees.

I stroll down a trail
under canopy of trees
tranquil, sun-dappled,
the light uplifts my spirit
and the shadows soothe my soul.

The scent of flowers
strives to set my soul free from
the trials of life
persuading my forlorn heart,
Why do I in anguish weep?

Exploring Nature

I stroll down the sun-dappled trail
under a tranquil canopy of trees,
The scent of blossoming flowers
sets my soul free
persuading me
to set forth anew
on life’s wearying ways.

Lady Macbeth

Lady Macbeth, Lady Macbeth
Why did you want Macbeth to be king
Even when you have all you need
This is all caused because of your greed

You think you are like a bird
Trying to get away with what you did
But lo and behold!
Your spouse will die as the witches bid.

You may be proud of what you have done
But because of your guilt
You went mad
You know something was wrong, which was bad

Lady Macbeth, Lady Macbeth
Why did you want no sympathy
Neither did you wish for empathy
You wanted everyone dead

Macbeth, Macbeth
Bless his soul
But because of you persuading him to kill
His existence became a foul.

Your heart is as evil as witch
As hard as ice
If you had murdered someone before
It wouldn't be a big surprise

You look as gentle as a feather
So light and innocent
But inside you are nothing
but a crueler version of malificent

heartbreak hotel

Heartbreak Hotel
by JG

Those kind, heartfelt words he used...
His soft touch flowing through your hair.
That perfect kiss to seal a magical night,
His charming humor calming your mind.

An unforgettable smile that soothed your soul,
And the sound of that cherished L word beneath the stars.

But days pass
Without his sweet voice in your ear.
Your skin forgets his warming touch.

Her heart stops—eyes blinded.
Across the room,
His hands now move through another’s hair.
The same sweet lines
Persuading her home with him.

A single tear falls down her cheek.
Another room in the Heartbreak Hotel.

Premium Member Song from Above

Engaging in divine firmament’s chorale
"The stars beckoned her song to reach the crescent moon"
Persuading the lunar beauty to join heavenly pursuit…

Gratefully cheered with sky’s singing delight
Night’s radiant gleam joined along intensified rhythm
Creating dreams along sonata’s harmony…

Soon wondrous music pervaded
Marvelously reverberating majestic melody
Worshipping the Creator midst His grandeur...

Gently awakening the earth
Song* from above lingers
Echoing in my heart until now.

*Isaiah 42:10 Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

The Cold embrace of Death

The Cold Embrace of Death

The hush transports him to another place,
where peace and joy are swallowed by regret.
The sea allures him to his own disgrace,
Akin to earworms feeble to forget

The crashing surf now softly breathes her name,
and speaks of pledges, secrets still untold.
The wind relays his sorrow and his shame,
as old bad dreams before his eyes unfold.

Again, she slowly lets her body fall,
to free her life off fiends that proved too grim.
Each small morose detail he can recall
as hungry waves below try to reach him.

The weeds peep through as tidal waves recede
persuading him to join her and concede.

Justice

The wild wind plays its part.
Orchids on my Lord's yard
Blown and thrown apart.
They were meant to fall?
Before coming of age?
The suspects were to be summoned at once.

"No such intentions I carry, oh Lord...."
Wild wind presents, an alibi persuading.
"I was hurled by these towering trees."
The court, bewildered.
Yet, advocated his statement.

"It was not just me, a whole bunch of us.
I? Merely a pawn swayed by an arrogant king, Sire?
I take no part in this massacre...."
Not even a warlord made my king sweat.
Apprehension of injustice it is.

Suppressing the murmurs, my King speaks.
"Oh mighty wind, brutal nature force,
Why assist destruction of the old man's blossom?
Tell me, oh lofty tree.
You bear children of your own,
Why kill mine? "

"Why flowers bloom?
When destined to wither only.
We relish and embrace them,
Refer- beauty, innocence and sanctity.
Why gather them here?
A corpse lying on a pyre...."

Forgive me if my love seemed less

Forgive me if my love seemed less
( An apology to myself )

Forgive me if my love seemed less
when you were fading into the dark,
If I couldn't grasp your hand as shadows pulled you far apart.
When you drowned in bittersweet memories, lost in the endless blue,
I longed to save you, but my arms couldn't reach you.

Forgive me if my love seemed less
when you're doused with intrusive thoughts and let 'em win
possessed by your introvertness you couldn't even walk around
when you're bashful I couldn't make smart enough to accept
for who you're, what you do and how you do

Forgive me if my love seemed less
when your altruistic nature was questioned and I gaslighted you
persuading you to have sleepless nights and turning the tables
I know you're at your best place but I incited you to work more
to be the best among all 'cause you're never like them !

Premium Member In the Eyes of Love

Breaking my heart with quiet smiles, sensations
Akin to dewlike joys, blended with chances,
Gentle feelings flowing, breathless creations…

Welcoming my soul’s doting, as light dances,
Whispering across the heart, still - as the light,
Reflecting all the grace this love enhances,…

Warming every thought with stirrings to excite,
Persuading with rhythms of soft, impressive tunes,
Blazing wonders beyond words, full of insight…

Startling skies awake with a tear who cocoons,
Relishing the peace found in those who believe,
In my darling’s eyes, love as big as the moons…

Found there is love so strong, it will never leave,
Glowing earnestly - some might call it naïve.

Premium Member Night Rhythms

Wandering barefoot,
whispering sweet sentiments
of haunting pleasures.
A touch that never phased me -
a kiss from her heaven lips.

Tangerine horizons,
appeared like flames in brown eyes.
Lovebirds gazed in awe,
as her lust soaked my passion.
Night rhythms sang to the stars.

We lay until dawn,
adrift in love's melodies,
under moonlight's shroud.
First blink to our morning skies
was wrapped in her angel wings.

A Tanka is a type of short poem, similar to a Haiku, of 8th century Japanese origin which are often written to express self-reflection, love, or gratitude. A suitor would compile a Tanka and send it to a woman the following day after a date. The woman would then reply back in kind. The poems were like short, secret messages expressing gratitude, love, meaning, or desire, and often climaxed in a persuading message.

But hey… be a rebel… ignore the rules!]
_______________________________________

I met the young lady from flat forty-five
I told her, “Your beauty makes me feel alive.”
She said, “My name’s Lexi.”
Her voice was SO sexy
My heart beat as though it was in overdrive

She took no persuading to give me a kiss
And then she said, “I bet you want more than this.”
My ardour was stirred
A lot more occurred
And my whole life became an ocean of bliss

The feelings we nurtured in flat forty-five
Instilled in me romance that surely would thrive
She patted my sleeve
And said, “You should leave,
My next client is about due to arrive.”

Downhearted, I made my way down to the street
I felt worse than Bonaparte when he was beat
Until she called down,
“Don’t go off with a frown,
Podiatrists, like me, just do people’s feet”

Well that tipped the scales and put wind in my sails
I rushed up those stairs like a steam train on rails
And soon, side by side
I got me a bride
I also got soft feet with manicured nails
