Cake

I'm not a fantasy type of girl,

But right now...
I'm waiting for my hero.
My saviour.
Someone to steal me away from my troubles.

I feel numb.

I don't know how to act,
what to think,
what to say,
or even how to feel.

Everyone around me keeps calling me strong and brave,
But little do they know,
deep down,
I'm breaking apart piece by piece.

They don't know I'm not the type of person
to completely shatter all at once.

Instead,
I'm the type to break slowly.
Piece by piece.
Crack by crack.

Until one day,
I'm completely shattered beyond repair.

Honestly,
at this point,
I'm not even sure if I'm strong
or just numb.

Maybe I'm simply incapable
of accepting the truth.

I tell myself I don't care at all.

And I know I don't.

But that doesn't mean
I don't care what my mom thinks.

Seeing my mom in pain because of me...

That's just the cherry on top
of my crumbling cake.

And by cake,
I mean my life.
And by my life,
I just mean...
Me.

I'm crumbling,
and I don't even know
what to do about it.

Or even
what not to do about it...

Premium Member I Stand Overwhelmed

I stand overwhelmed
By the freshness
 of the morning dew
Which surpasses
The fragrance of lavender
Of morning roses.
The screaming winds
A fortiori
The raised curtains
Walls without roofs
‘Entrez’ pandemonium?
‘Je suis levre au regard’
Parabolique trajectoire
The missing golden thread
The shooting star hurtles through the sky
Footpaths to nowhere
Who can toe this line ?
A real pity.
I stand overwhelmed
Ensconced at their wits’ end
Puissant proof of glory
Vitriolic outbursts of misdirected anger
I stand overwhelmed.

The Father is never overwhelmed Or put off by our problems

The Father is never overwhelmed
Or put off by our problems
He can help us
He gives us the tranquillity
Despite the situation as
We learn to trust Him.

When our Heavenly Father Speaks
Things change; we might look weak, but
Things change because of the Promises of God!

The Truth of His Word and
The certainty of His ability is a beautiful reality.
Fixing our eyes on Jesus refocuses us
And things start to change because of the promises in the Bible.

Moon

Candle glow at midnight
The hatch is locked
A scrambling splutter
As I reach for the key of circles and bolts and lines
But just as before
The circle ends
Four corners behind

And I'm scrambling again for another key
I plead the glow as I–
Well, do I cherish my existence once more?

Foot taps to the humming
Blood rushing under my skin
I'm thrown to the couch
A corner, I curb

Did I feel the end? Was there an end in sight?
My head tilts, and I
Can't quite seem to keep the colours
Steady in my mind
For better or worse, I do mind

Do I love?
I don't love, I don't love, I don't love
I don't love. I do love. I don't love. I do love.

Respite in the Moonshine

Candle glow at midnight,
The hatch is locked
A scrambling splutter
As I reach for the key of circles, bolts and lines.
But just as before. The circle ends 4 corners behind
And I'm scrambling again for another key
I plead the glow;
It flickers as I-
Well, I,
I cherish my existence once more
As another circle starts to grow...
My foot taps to the humming,
Blood rushing under my skin, I'm thrown to the couch–
It's way past midnight. Immobile, so I curb the corner.
Did I feel the end?
For better or worse, the hatch unlocks, no key.
My head tilts, and
I can't seem
To keep the colours uniform again.
I spiral to only splatters of *pink* and *green* caressing the wall
Overwhelmingly.
Please, don't, love.
But I do, do I? FOR WHAT PURPOSE?
I plead once more.
And become void, I hate. I hate. I hate.
But only pink could resonate.

Overwhelmed Avalanches of Doubt

So many ways to say one thing
More than one way to turn pawn to king
Too many turns to the grocery store
Which turn shall I take?

Countless words to choose from
From sunrise to sunset
Too many ends to be met
With no end

So many ways to say one thing

How will I say this?

The paralysis of perfection pours
A whisper at first
Drown out by the delusion of desirability
Preserved in acid proclamations of praise
Beating echoes in snowy peaks
Peaking in phrases veiled in value
Pouring
Heavy
 Heavy
  Heavy
On the mountaintop
  Failure
 Failure
Failure
One weakened layer causing seismic shifts
Elephant echoes fragmenting snowy ideals
Triggering avalanches of lost identity
Slabs of fallen promises break loose
Forming a track of forbidden truth
Too much weight bids perilous
Useless words of compliment
Descend to a suffocating
Ignominious demise
Plagued by tiny
Thoughts of
Fading

Premium Member This Woman's Power

Blue rivulets of vein on the inside of her wrist,
That shallow valley between her hip
And the bottom of her belly,
The inside of her knee
Where her calf met her thigh,

I remember this girl.

Like the fury of a thousand suns
I remember her.
This woman’s power
To point a finger, or wave a hand,

Disintegrate a life,
Or plot the course of futures.

A simple “yes” or “no”
To open the gates of paradise

Or expel you to the cavernous blackness
Of endless empty space

In place

Of where she stood.

The Light in His Eyes

When I see him,
I feel weightless, floating—
His smile, his laughter,
A wonder so bright,
It brings endless joy to my heart.

I’m left breathless
Every time he’s near.
I love all of him—
Everything he offers,
And even if he gave nothing,
Still, I would love him the same.
He holds the happiness I seek.

He acts tough,
But I know,
Behind the walls he’s built,
Something great waits to be seen.

Every time he smiles,
His eyes glow—
They shine like stars,
And I am left speechless
By their light.

His voice alone weakens me.
Words fall short
To express how I feel—
He ignites the fire within.

It’s like I’m drowning
In emotions I can’t understand,
Yet somehow,
They make me feel
I could conquer the world.

I could write endlessly
Of what he means to me,
But the pages would fill,
Overflowing—
Still, it wouldn’t be enough
To capture it all.

Premium Member Lead Me To The Rock

Lead me to the Rock on which I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
Lead me to the place where I’ll find grace
Lead me to the Rock on which I stand

The Lord is my strength and shield
He is the cornerstone on which we build
He’ll never fall, never fail,
Lead me to the Rock that’s living still

Lead me to the Rock that's higher than me
my safe harbor in the midst of the sea
When my heart’s overwhelmed it’s You I seek
Lead me to the Rock that is Higher than me

The Lord is my strength and shield
He is the cornerstone on which we build
He’ll never fall, never fail,
Lead me to the Rock that’s living still

Lead me to the Rock who loves me so
Singin’ “Jesus loves me this I know!”
His love is true, His word is too
Lead me to the Rock who loves me so

Lead me to the Rock who overcomes
all our victories have just begun
Have no fear, Your Father is near
Lead me to the Rock that overcomes

The Lord is my strength and shield
He is the cornerstone on which we build
He’ll never fall, never fail,
Lead me to the Rock, ...oh Lead me to the Rock,
oh Lead me to the Rock...that’s living still

Premium Member Overwhelmed

On days like today, I need you the most
When it seems that nothing goes right
You're the only one who can cheer me up
Sweet love, my whole day you light

With a fire, a passion, a burning desire
To hold you tight in my arms
To squeeze you, to kiss your waiting lips
In dreams, I'm overwhelmed by your charms

Forgive me, I tend to repeat myself a lot
Because I'm still blown away by this thing
That we're actually back together again
If you were here, you'd hear my heart sing

My darling, I feel like a blithering idiot
Running off and foaming at the mouth
See what you've done, my darling lover
Hope you're satisfied, my mind's gone south

So sorry for chastising you the way I did
I'm a willing participant as they say
The love of my life has come back to me
You are mine till my very last day

Overwhelmed

When overwhelmed with the stains of sin
We are the instrument and the Lord is the bow
With his gentile hands he crafts his design
To play a melody so divine

Premium Member Cell Prison: a Parasite of Life

My pixel prison, / parasite of my mind, / tyrant of my time.

Once upon a time- a letter or a call sufficed.
Now, years vanish in a blink of an eye,

Beeps and buzzes, / rings and memes.

Panic… no time or space to breathe…, to think, to feel.
Only rumors, lies, confusion, facts, & paradoxes /
Black Hole Fury, ennui, strain, insomnia, fatigue...

A silent scream / Enough is Enough!!

I Take control - disconnect from the leech….
I walk outside, / I breathe / Fresh Air,
Weeping - I hear the distant thunder /

I gaze at the willows, roses, sparrows, clouds, & bees
Nature - my old friend, my healer, a warm breeze
Free at last - I wander at will, elated I perceive...
The path not taken.
