Psalm of the Overwhelmed

When my heart is overwhelmed, I cry to Thee,
Lead me to the Rock that is higher than me,
Thou hast been a shelter from my enemy,
In Thy tabernacle, forever I'll be.
When my spirit within me was overwhelmed,
Then Thou knew my path; my life ship Thou hast helmed,
Thou art my refuge, bring my soul out of jail,
Thou shalt deal bountifully, Thy name I'll hail.

Premium Member Overwhelmed Senses:

Overwhelmed senses brought me to my knees,
A forgotten tune that I knew no more,
The pipes were calling, blowing in the breeze,
Gaining volume, my ears full of their roar.

My thoughts drift away on a velvet cloud,
Leaving body behind, an empty shell,
Wrapped so tightly, this invisible shroud,
Music in the background casting its spell.

My spirit was soaring so high and free,
Like the kind of feeling you can't explain,
'Twas the ether or just pure ecstasy?
But there are no words so I must reframe.

A smile grew on my face, that I can tell,
And if you do the same, I wish you well.

Overcome

OVERCOME

I’m a tiny human flicker
In whirling winds, losing light quicker
My flame glows glum, think I’m really done.
Overcome…

I’m a frail glade blossom, that in free air moves
Unexpected thundering mammals stomp with plundering hooves
I’m in the dirt, in a breathless stun.
Overcome…

I’m dropped in a boundless ocean
A collective being notion, passionate movement of erotion
Powerful sheet of love, hardest rocks my waves shun
Overcome…

Mountain of a spirit, sturdy in every little stone
Fortress of standing wisdom, timeless, never alone
Striving to transcend: hard to climb and only reached by some.
Overcome…

A Complete Failure, Overwhelmed With Joy

A complete failure, overwhelmed with joy.

I wanted to write
a beautiful rhyming poem
for your contest David,
but alas!
I'm a complete failure!

What!

A complete failure you say!
Yes, that's what I said!
A complete and total failure!

But...

wait a minute...

isn't a failure, in it's very essence
it's very core mean
not achieving your goal,
hence being incomplete,
or imperfect?

How can something therefore,
inherently imperfect or
incomplete, then be complete?
Impossible!!!

ok ok,
so I'm just a failure then.

Even so, being the failure that I am,

some days I am overwhelmed with joy!

What! Overwhelmed with joy!

Joy, is a beautiful inner quality,
a feeling of contentment
and happiness.
Can you really get too much?
Does that makes any sense?

(Oh look an unintentional rhyme
just jumped in there!
Good! Anyway...I digress.)

Overwhelmed with joy...hmmm

I can see it now, going to the
psychiatrist and saying

Doctor! Doctor!

You've got to help me

Well, what is it!

I'm overwhelmed with...
Anxiety?
No!
Grief?
No!
Sorrow?
No!
Pain?
No!
It's too hard even to express in words!
Go on!
Don't worry,
everything you tell me
is confidential!

ok ok ..
it's just... that...I'm so overwhelmed with...

Yes...

Joy....there I said it!

Like that's ever going to happen!

Or the conversation as follows:

Hey Bob, did you hear about Joe?
No, what happened?
He killed himself!
Really!
Yeah poor guy, was just so overwhelmed!
With anxiety?
No!
With grief?
No!
Pain?
No!
Sorrow?
No!
What then?

It was the...

joy...

really?

Wow!

that joy will get you every time!

Yeah, I guess he just got so overwhelmed
and couldn't take it any more!

Poor fella! How did he do it?

Drowned himself in a thimble of water!

Really! Wow!

Must have felt like a complete failure!!!

Premium Member Overwhelmed

Now with mass media
I can see over there
So many disasters
The World now can share

Numbing our senses
With sensory overload
Hunger and pestilence
I see bombs explode

For me to stay sane
I have to ignore
When it comes to news
it's not good anymore

I do my best to help
Over there and here
Will aid reach them
Is my underlying fear

A drop in a bucket
I can't give enough
Perhaps I can give
A bit more of my stuff

How can I be happy
Live a life without care
When I'm filled with knowledge
Of others in despair

She Has Overwhelmed Me

I can show you relationship fulfillment, or at least the equivalent.
Maybe mental gratification throwin caution to the wind call it lack of hesitation.
She has written words something like loves personification.
This is the epitomy of inspiration.
I can smell her scent of desire like the smoke from her soul that has been set on fire and her essence is what I perspire.
Oh this aroma... more gratifying then a doctorate diploma.
She has brought out my emotions expressions and without question I embrace these romantic lessons.
Caught up in her hurricane yet feel no pain so I dance in her rain.
Oh this subconscious touch...almost to much to contain like a escaped blush beyond lust for this without knowing I already trust.
Is this an attempt to embellish...no...call it an attempt to cherish wanting it all to myself so maybe you can call me selfish.....senses have been rendered helpless.
She does not yet understand how willing I am to meet her demands as if they were my own commands.
She is the foundation of meaningful existence so whether absence or great distance I will remember her mental fragrance and use it for my hearts guidance...I am overwhelmed.

Premium Member I Do Need Your Blessings

While I'm waiting
You always come with delay
While I'm overwhelmed with work
You always pass by hastefully
While I'm suffering
You always linger around
While I'm enjoying
You always slip away quietly
I can't do anything to stop you
And so, time, I do need your blessings
Just like without any blessings from the Almighty
Man's life will become a mess

Overwhelmed

Needy waves overwhelm
Battering, smashing
Soft flesh quivering
Splintering, raging, angry
Screeching , fists clenched.
I need more then I have!
To quench the fire,
A hunger, burning desire
As oxen grind grain
Doomed to everlasting circle
Consumed by a need
Spontaneous combustion, eruption
Do what I must
Abilities of others,
To comprehend, to know
What I wish I can't do The arrow pierces deep
And the final words
Are of no help
Doesn’t the sun follow rain?
Releasing the parched earth
Who has my tomarrow?
Searching stacks of stuff
Cheating Chinese workers
Can’t get to heaven today
Enough of anything
Weather turns cold
Fields brown, sun is gone
Special celestial light
Summer stolen while I napped
Can’t get to heaven today.

Overwhelmed

My eyes were overwhelmed
By the beauty of her face
How her hair shone in its bob cut
Not a strand was out of place

And when I walked beside her
I felt privileged to be there
I’d have walked a thousand miles
My time with her to share

Yet when she looked into the mirror
A different picture met her eyes
She could see just fat and ugly
And what she called thunder thighs

If I lived another lifetime
Trying to convince her of her mistake
It would have made no difference
She would still be in the lake

Don’t let your mind deceive you
Or others who would tease
You are how you were meant to be
And you have no one to appease

Premium Member Cell Prison: a Parasite of Life

My pixel prison, / parasite of my mind, / tyrant of my time.

Once upon a time- a letter or a call sufficed.
Now, years vanish in a blink of an eye,

Beeps and buzzes, / rings and memes.

Panic… no time or space to breathe…, to think, to feel.
Only rumors, lies, confusion, facts, & paradoxes /
Black Hole Fury, ennui, strain, insomnia, fatigue...

A silent scream / Enough is Enough!!

I Take control - disconnect from the leech….
I walk outside, / I breathe / Fresh Air,
Weeping - I hear the distant thunder /

I gaze at the willows, roses, sparrows, clouds, & bees
Nature - my old friend, my healer, a warm breeze
Free at last - I wander at will, elated I perceive...
The path not taken.

Ole' Angel of Mine

Robin Hookie,
May you R.I.P

I asked God to send me a miracle,
I felt your presence.

I asked God to touch my heart,
you smiled.

I asked God to send me a friend,
I got an angel.

When I thanked God for sending me a miracle,
I was overwhelmed by your presence.

When I thanked God that He had touched my heart,
you came over and stood beside me.

When I thanked God for sending me a friend,
and an angel appeared.

You turned and looked at me and said hello and smiled.

Thank you, Angel, for being there!

Overwhelmed

Wiser heart shalt thou prevail?
Speak to me a thousand words of reason
Bid me cling to those now fading thoughts
Oh, guard mine wounded heart from
loves subtle snare in this unsafe hour!
Alas, thine is a voice less loud
For love calleth and I am overwhelmed

Overwhelmed Dark Vehemence

Overwhelmed dark vehemence

i swedges each breathe
for emancipation from shackles of
dark streets i walk
pawing of his covetous touches
loath tie-ins running since ages
serfdom of a man's wench
or from the core of philtre of miseries

Beneath my mass
My soul espoused
The overwhelmed dark vehemence
It is nor cremated neither cemented

'Rape her once
Rape her twice
Rape her enormous
In a troop or sole
Arouses the torment in her veins
And her blood starts rotting away
She greedily quest the weapon
The weapon to shred him as he devoured whole of her masses into pieces in one bite
The weapon to shred the mayhem that devoured her halcyon days'

Beneath my mass
My soul espoused
The overwhelmed dark vehemence
It is nor cremated neither cemented

Overwhelmed

We continue life
And all it's evil and good
Bears down upon us
We're overwhelmed by our lives
But find peace in the chaos.

Water - Overwhelmed - Sapphic Stanza

Peter dove in, waves all upheaving, raging
Sure as blind eyes always are, never doubting
Saving Sandra, fallen in, shouting, blurping,
Sandra saved Peter!
