Cell Prison: a Parasite of Life

My pixel prison, / parasite of my mind, / tyrant of my time. Once upon a time- a letter or a call sufficed. Now, years vanish in a blink of an eye, Beeps and buzzes, / rings and memes. Panic… no time or space to breathe…, to think, to feel. Only rumors, lies, confusion, facts, & paradoxes / Black Hole Fury, ennui, strain, insomnia, fatigue... A silent scream / Enough is Enough!! I Take control - disconnect from the leech…. I walk outside, / I breathe / Fresh Air, Weeping - I hear the distant thunder / I gaze at the willows, roses, sparrows, clouds, & bees Nature - my old friend, my healer, a warm breeze Free at last - I wander at will, elated I perceive... The path not taken.

We know that many people have an addiction to technology. We see people glued to devices while they're walking or driving. This has definitely changed the world and the average personality type here. Makes me wonder what the future holds. Thanks for describing this phenomenon.

Thanks Tom, I appreciate your comments. I was trying to be more abstract to break free of the structures of life kind of show a dichotomy of life. Thanks Again!,

So easily have some of us become slaves to phones and the Internet. Forsaking the beauty of nature and everything it offers us. Very well written, Daniel.

A part of the mind that is a pixel size. Then a silent scream. I like these images - oh, and the Frost echo that Brian Sambourne mentions here.

Nicely penned, Daniel. I like the short, clipped grouping of words all of which celebrate living, richly. Your last line is a fine echo of Robert Frost. Best wishes, Brian

Thanks Brian, I appreciate your thoughts about my poem. It is a different path to choose the outbdoorninnof itself and I think Frost would be surprised at the hours spent of tech.
