My eyes drank in the beauty of this magnificent floral garden
My senses became aware of the deep intoxicating aromatic sweetness
That hung heavily in the air
My mouth savored, my nostrils pulled in glorious scents
It left me clinging, longing ,to remain in this exotic haven
With each step the aromas became aromatic scented treats
As I walked down this enchanting pathway
I breathe the thick fragrance that hung in the air
As the gate opened I slipped inside the flower garden
It was so vibrant, so colorful, so powerful
That it overwhelmed my sense of smell
As I drank in the beauty before me
I thought, I am so happy to be alive
To feel, to see, to smell and drink in this floral beauty.
It is one of several mini dreams of last night.
It was part of a night's dream in bits and pieces,
and the forthcoming part is merely a piece
that is vivid enough to be shared.
In the dream, I was on an assignment
to make a delivery of something that
I cannot remember. While at the delivery
location, I became engrossed in
conversing with various people until
I became stressed, as I was clearly
running behind in my schedule. I was
therefore forced to break away abruptly
only to discover that I had lost the lace in
my shoes, and I could not walk in them.
I tried to improvise with other things that
did not work. So I decided to check the
store nearby for lace, although I doubted
that they would have any. Turns out, to
my pleasant surprise, they had lace. In
fact, only one pair left. The most telling
and impressive thing about the store was
that several workers at the store knew
me by name and directed me to the lace
that I so desperately needed. Suddenly,
my thirst for lace dissipated, and I became
overwhelmed with the expression of love
from the store's employees. The dream
piece ended as abruptly as it had begun,
and I found myself saying, "I have been
loved everywhere I have been".
As I conclude this piece, I am fighting
back the tears and being consumed with
the very thought of the love of God and
how awesomely good He has been to me.

A Statistic
Sometimes I feel tired of being in my own skin....feeling overwhelmed with sin that’s not my own...sorrow overbearing with thoughts of black teenagers that will never be grown...men, and woman dying as children...because they were shot by cops that are the same color of my skin....so now I am another statistic...reason being...is from what I’m seeing...my skin is seen with privilege...because I’m not black I lack the same disrespect from cops that Tyrone might get...and yet I feel tired of being in my own skin...feeling responsible for the many wrongful deaths....in all depths...from wanted to be a cop...wearing a badge of a cop...to holding the gun of a cop...when will it stop...the motto is “him or me”....them or we...shoot to kill...not disable...because you leave him or her able to come back the next day to bring more to the table....apprehending is now becoming a fable...or turned into one...it’s easier to do damage with a taser or take a life solving problems permanently with a gun...than it is to disable make unable to run...no lesson to learn from...I might be white as so that’s the color they call my skin...but I’m from the same east New York Brooklyn city line shopping neighborhood black kids grew up in...as I grow older I grow colder to what police officers are trained to do...”Shoot to kill...not disable to make unable...to come back the next day to bring more to the table”.....as much as I would refuse to be a bullet ballistic...I am just like everyone else who is the color of my skin A statistic...
Would it be okay if I have a moment of your time?
To tell you how I feel through this small, magical rhyme?
Would it be okay if I hold you for a while?
To kiss your forehead, and make you smile?
Would it be okay to pull you close and whisper in your ear?
To assure you daily that there is nothing to fear?
Every time you say I love you,
My heartbeat starts to go insane.
The sensation of your love for me,
It’s like an addictive type of pain.
The twinkle in your eyes, every time we speak.
It sends chills up and down my spine, and it makes me completely weak.
When you say I love you, your voice lights up my face.
You make me melt all over, as my heart continues to race.
And when you kiss me…
My lips quiver at the very touch.
My soul is filled and overwhelmed with joy, that you love me so much.
The being within me surrenders with everything you do.
Because of those three words you say… I love you.
So would it be okay if I have a moment of your time?
To show you how I feel through the words of my magical rhyme?
Would it be okay to show you firsthand?
That I am proud to be your husband, and happy to be your man?
You are everything I could ever need and more.
More than I deserve or would dare wish for.
You are my wife, my baby, my angel, my dream girl.
I’m thankful that you are my whole world.
I want you to feel the power flowing through my heart and my rhyme?
So again, I ask… would it be okay if I have a moment of your time?
Army of Napoleon Bonaparte,
Was so rhythmically marching,
Gliding across all rough paths
Like condors to conquer the Alps;
A woman aged in experience,
Warns him consequences dire;
For never ever in her lifetime,
Had she seen anyone coming back;
He, overwhelmed by love for her,
Gifts her diamonds vastly valued;
Tells her to spread the great story
Of Napoleon daring to come back;
The army in reluctance rebels,
To move ahead to such hazard;
Telling them it’s a matter trivial,
He enkindles their spirits to soar;
Indeed, they had seen a hill,
And enquired their master about it;
‘Alps Mountain is great’, he said,
Lo, this resembles nothing of it;
They climbed it so simple and easy,
And expected another expedition tough;
Reaching the plains he smilingly said,
The Alps has already been conquered;
Relentless was Napoleon’s ways,
Victory-oriented his daring deeds;
His faith mingled with intelligence,
Charisma combined with confidence;
Motivation merged with military trust,
Handled rarest of rare predicaments…

Anxiety (The Worst Noose In Town)
-- like flooding waters, creeping in
I count 30, seconds, holding my breath again
Drowning in agitation, overwhelmed by fear
I try to hide the pressure in hopes I don't pass out
My pores are soaked, from all the perspiration
I feel the pins and needles pushing in
My skin is ruined from all the peeling
At this point, I can't seem to win
Washed out by dead hope and desire
My soul is lost searching for a shore
leashing, grasping and ripping the chest wide
I count 40, seconds, once nausea can't be blocked
Everything about this moment is driving me mad,
I need to escape, however, my knees are too weak
I tremble while losing control to the emotional distress
My knuckles are pale, detached from reality,
wounds forced with further embarrassment.
Guaranteed failure surrounds my day
Numbness strikes my very essence - I can't move!
Lost in a room,
Therapy - even so I feel singled out
HAPPY VALENTINES (it can get the best of us)
---------------------------- love Linda
I feel your soul reaching out to my soul,
fueling flames of passion in my heart.
I didn't dare dream that I'd ever feel whole,
yet I felt your love take hold from the start.
Tears may fall, yet we'll never drift apart
for we became one when love took control.
And whenever our hopes need a kick-start,
I feel your soul reaching out to my soul.
Even on days that seem as dark as coal,
Love brings us closer together, sweetheart.
I'll never forget the first kiss I stole:
fueling flames of passion in my heart.
You offered me all your love could impart;
not just an actor with a minor role.
And before fate gave my heart a jumpstart,
I didn't dare dream that I'd ever feel whole.
I was overwhelmed by life's rigmarole,
searching for my elusive counterpart.
And love felt like an impossible goal,
yet I felt your love take hold from the start.
Despite our differences, doubts depart:
you like country; I prefer rock-and-roll.
I doodle, you appreciate fine art;
yet when we hold hands on a moonlit stroll,
I feel your soul.
When life in the city
becomes too much to bear,
With its winding concrete roads,
Its underpasses and overpasses,
Its tall buildings and speeding cars,
When I am overwhelmed by a sense
of hopelessness and unrelenting stress,
I retreat into the arms of Nature
When life amidst people
becomes too much to bear,
With their big black hearts
And puny shriveled souls,
With their depraved moral values-
Self-obsessed, materialistic and profane,
I take refuge in the bosom of the forest.
I find solace in its solitude,
Among towering trees
and splendorous falls
With its gushing streams
and magnificent mountains,
The verdant fields and emerald green valleys
with rivers meandering through
rolling hills and lush plains.
Pretty wildflowers blooming in their colorful attire
peeping coyly through grass and shrubs
swaying alluringly with beckoning smiles
and the sound of bees humming joyfully over them
soothes my insatiable craving for bliss.

Let's see... how do I feel today
Pretty much the same as yesterday except one day older
Guess that's the least anyone can expect
Wonder if an enormous amount of money just plopped in my lap
Would that make any kind of a significant difference
Sure would like to give that a shot
Perhaps I'll buy a ticket for the next ten million dollar lotto
To know how it feels when they call up and say
“You are our grand prize winner!
After the government grabs it's share
We will be sending you a cheque for $136.50!
As part of the rules of the contest
You'll be required to make a televised statement
Excitably explaining how this win has changed your life!”
WOWSERS! I'm overwhelmed
Been wearing these same old holey beat up jeans
For nigh onto ten years now
You won't believe how much this means to me...
Don't know how I'll ever begin to thank you!
I apologize if this sounds a bit cynical
But where did the other $9,999,863.50 go
This reply came back...
“Sorry, this question does not compute!”
(I'm exaggerating a wee bit, of course!)

Happy 2026
It's a new year
For me to fix
Fix some things I been working on
To make me better
Continue to get myself together
Didn't come with a resolution
I came with a plan
To help me
When life comes with demands
I learned to be grateful
For the simple things in life
When I have problems
Send them to Jesus Christ
This year is for progression and redirection when im fighting battles
Use God as my protection
My biggest Flex
Is God is not done with me yet
This year im going to be Big on Me
And Reciprocating energy
I'm going to be my biggest supporter of all my endeavors and dreams ??
Going after everything i wanted
It's time to jump on it
Jump on it ,excel
Wish people well
Stop talking about it
And just do it
It's nothing to it
I want be in the mix
At a table
Be overwhelmed
With God's favor
I want my gift and talent to be my challenge
I know I can handle it
Starting off on a great note with great vibes
Whats in store for me i cant hide
Let the haters be your motivation
Know you were God's creation
Life can put you in the mix
Things can change real quick
This is just what its going to be in 2026
