A Fourth of Nine
Like the globe she dances
Spinning on pointed toe
Pole to pole she meets
With arms en haut to show
Perfect orb, she crystal glow
Out as far as up, and
Down as far as in.
Jormungandr swim
Slicing through the molten core,
A double sided blade,
To each degree of astrolabe
Swim figure eight eternity.
Diametric pins astride
The face of ticking time
A fourth of

Opposites Kids
He is like red fire
I am like blue ice
Hopeless is desire
Opposites we fight
We create gray steam
As if love is a dream
Merging as if esteem
Creates king and queen
What of the future then
Aftermath of our blend
Saintly or of sun
Dainty or masculine
Perhaps our seed will grow
Flower like art of gold
Powered by heart and soul
With

Opposites attract
They say They say opposites attract,
I suppose they were right to think that especially for us.
For i was naive
and you wanted to deceive
I was as pure as the driven snow
And you were dark like the concept of a Jane Doe.
Opposites attract.
You secretly wanted to attack,
I just wanted you to love me back.
You

Opposites
They say that opposites are necessary
they, you know of whom I speak
so many that they have become faceless
to us, so similar in their beaten nature
having given up the fight, given away
all of their gauntlet gloves, for imagined
peace with Creator and the State --
Why do I need to know clouds to
appreciated the Sun? -- only for
those

A Dance of Opposites
(“Evil Eye”, 2024, original encaustic)
A Dance of Opposites
What is the world today?
Good and evil in perfect balance
A dance of opposites
With none the wiser, nor more powerful.
But good after all is good
And evil, evil
And in that, is all the difference.

The Canvas of Constrast v2
Picasso's fractured forms, a jagged, broken line,
A world of angles where my vision can't align.
I yearn for harmony, a smooth, unbroken flow,
But in your chaos, a hidden truth, I know.
Monet's light, a gentle caress, a soothing balm,
His brushstrokes whisper a calming, peaceful calm,
The water's surface is a shimmering, liquid dream,
Reflecting beauty, a world where

Words and opposites
Descriptions use words
Of course
But each word automatically
Suggests its opposite..
A word without an opposite
Is not a word..
It might be said: no-word
Appears as that word...
Opposites
Collide and nullify
A story of opposites..
Continuing:
Nothing then
Appears as
Opposites...

Questions of Opposites
What is real and what is shadow?
what is deep and what is shallow?
What is life and what is death?
what is spirit and what is breath?
What is earth and what is sky?
what is low and what is high?

Guess I'll Be Me
Before, when I was afraid to be me,
I looked at others and tried to be a copy.
Mimic all their motions,
repeat the same moves...
Maybe then I can follow all their rules?
I tried to not be so different, so lame,
but being a replica just wasn't the same!
No matter how hard I would try,
all

When opposites collide
I live in a small condo
with a unit upstairs,
and there resides one
very temperamental bear..
He has a darling wife,
so bubbly and fair, but he
can be so dark and moody,
spreads his gloom every where..
At times he hears my footsteps,
although I live below, so I take
off my shoes and walk on tip toe..
I slept in my guest room

A Split
You’re here and I’m there
You’re found and I’m hidden
I’m foul and you're fair
You’re pure and I’m unbidden
I’m there and you’re here
I’m fiction and you’re truth
You’re tranquil and I’m fear
I’m aged and you’re youth
You’re here and I’m there
You’re gold and I’m coal
I’m self and you’re care
You’re give and I’m stole
I’m there and you’re here
We’re a ship

Our Differences
Our differences
Are like the pieces of a puzzle called life
Where the picture on the box
Shows all joys and all strife
Shapes fit just the same
The bright and the dull
Mis-shapes take some time
As we chew and we mull
In the end it's all fine
Unique in it's beauty
An imperfect image
Released from all duty
To conform to the

OPPOSITES IN LOVE
I admire your peaceful ways
The way you smile the way you pray
You admire my warrior spirit
I smile a while just to hear this
You are a morning bird so free
You wake before sun all cheery
I am a night owl and I stay up late
Writing poems and songs to celebrate
You like purring cats and I like

Glimpsing the Future
“We often throw away what we still have so as not to regret what we have already lost.” - Luigina Sgarro
Black is white’s shadow.
Day is night’s despair.
Morning is evening’s dare.
Thick is thins embrace.
Love is hate’s defiance.
Hope is desperation’s death.
Light is dark’s sadness.
Life is death’s contrast.
Beautiful is repulsion’s misfortune.
Affection is loathing’s imp.
Joy is sorrow’s memory.
Laughter is

In the Night
("Dark Matters", 2017, original encaustic)
In the Night
Opposites attract
And so attracted bond
On the outside
It all appears so normal
While inside they dance
Or circle around in some kind of truce
Knowing they are stuck
Together as one
Until death do they part.
And when they part
Where do they go?
So many theories
Of the unknown
Fill the mind
Spilling over
The carefully drawn line of
