Peril looms yet the artist shows a relaxed state over the city.
Looked back from whence they came, escaping, unfollowed, over the city.
Solitude no more, she’s his prize to carry off over the city.
angels live in his mind lovers and flowers in a garden bright blue . . .
Inspired by Marc Chagall painting "Birthday (1915)"
acrobatic saddled lip lock, birthday bouquet transfixed upright awed
Music pierces where words escape every mood a tune a hearts embrace
Le Cirque Bleu
The spotlight is aglow through the gloam
The light an indigo ink modifying color
She swings her body with agility thrusting backwards
upside down, with unseen wings,
an acrobat aerials amid the roar
She looks pretty with her fan in one hand,
long tresses flowing loosely
A circus horse made of jade below
makes eye contact and an interconnection
Without movement they are in an eternal trance,
In the deep dark yonder the golden helio appears
Fiddle and banjo play for the opening adagios act La Nouba
Her leotard tightly invokes, red with flower imprints
Statuesque, still in time showing off her physique
and impressing spectators from below the fliers' pedestal
From above the nets, with ease, she imagines a
world where gravity defies, and animals and objects fly
Flights of fancy within the flying trapeze
flights of fancy an indigo trapeze ~ from above jade nets, an ease

Magicicada 13 - Mind and Body
Poet’s Note - A tree fell on my house thus the inspiration for this poem.
Marc Chagall - artist would paint ghostly figures flying in sky and his fiddler on the roof was the inspiration for the movie namesake.
Marc Chagall-
love stories in paint
Death of Bella
Holding each other's hands
They were flying like birds
A tiny town below was softly glowing
Under the moon, love was overflowing
Mark whispered to her gently
“I’ll certainly never leave you ”
In the room with a bouquet
Joy springs from a cheerful minuet
His head suddenly turned upside-down
Everything was torn down
The Death of Bella caused his distress
Love was expected to be endless
Indescribable sorrow to be expressed
Unimaginable sadness was addressed
But Mark turned his unbearable sadness
into valuable masterpieces
which are more precious than pearls.

An Ekphrasis in lanterne sequence on the famous painting by Marc Chagall
In vertigo of night, in their riddled trance
Boldness of petals melt on washed-out shades,
As faces etch a quiet gloom in varied hues
Capturing splashed oil, neutral and bright
While I gaze longingly at a portrait…
Man and wife , as if holding a child almost
Unseen …hidden through a float of blue-white.
Through dimming pain, a view lights up for a time
Where orange of moonlight quietly slips
Amid this rosette outburst and aching gray,
With blossoms strewn along pale candlelight…
How languid colors begin to mold my thoughts
Drowning in a pang of loneliness… I ask
In silence..are the couple ,the babe dying?...dead?
And the fusion of tender, lonely motif allows me
To weep inside, captive in a gasping moan... the kind
Which shapes a tone between life and elegy.
