Preschooler mesmerized by The Prayer - angels sing.

La luce che tu dai
I pray we'll find your light
Nel cuore resterà
And hold it in our hearts
A ricordarci che
When stars go out each night
L'eterna stella sei

Songwriters: Carole Bayer Sager / David W. Foster

The Effects of Memory

A black ringlet
curls to lie
at the nape of her neck,
glistening with sweat
in the evaporate moonlight ...
This is what I remember

now that I cannot forget.

And tonight,
if I have forgotten her name,
I remember:
rigid wire and white lace
half-impressed in her flesh ...

our soft cries, like regret,

... the enameled white clips
of her bra strap
still inscribe dimpled marks
that my kisses erase ...

now that I have forgotten her face.

That Which Is

That Which IS
(for Julian of Norwich)
by
Rick Folker

I came across it
in a bookstore
As if you were standing
right there and smiling,
"Now do you understand?
It IS enough."

You, in your cloistered cell
assured us of the death of fear
and the inifinite Reality,
"All will be well, all manner of things
will be infinitely well."

Now, neither the approbation of humankind
nor the critic's nod to what is sacred; what is profane
Can dispel or impede my very self from ever-seeking
the Divine: in you, in me, in others

And now and then I catch a short mystical breeze
when multiplicity disappears into unity
And I gain some understanding of words like:
Ground of Being, Ineffable knowing, Dark night, Eterna Luce,
the Eternal Now

And such knowing is more than enough to sustain me
to carry this struggling soul
From exile; from wandering
To a place where you pointed
That strange country now seems familiar
And I realize that I am Home

Premium Member Human Tenderness

How we love this secluded pond
He lowers me to the grass
And on my stomach I watch
Little beetles, blue dragonflies
Transparent wings fluttering
soft humming near my ears
My smiles born broadly in sunlight

His tender hands hold my back
to his chest. And in the shallow
pool numerous tadpoles curiously
investigate my otherwise useless
legs without pity or shame
He smiles words of joy to me
In my ears and to my mouth

Red squirrel clambers
the tree near our temporary
bed where his hands fumble
and his mouth smiles broadly
between my hands, breeze
lifting my curls as wings
on small hummingbirds

From the corners of his eyes
The lazy luce ponders the strange
ways of human tenderness
While he holds me in his
endless loving patience
That doesn't care about ability
Just we, water, sun and together

BLUE EYES BLUE
Candle stick oh candle wick
keep on burning true
light of love now come to me
from your blue eyes blue
you're the glowing halo in
all the dark that's me
in the hottest of your flame
it's a blue eyes blue.

Candle stick oh candle wick
love is all your glow
light of love now reaching out
with love we should know
some might have a problem with
understanding you
but you light the dark of me
with your blue eyes blue.

BLUE EYES BLU
bastone candela oh stoppino
continuare a bruciare vero
luce dell'amore ora vieni da me
dai tuoi occhi azzurri azzurri
si sta l'alone incandescente in
tutto al buio che mi è
nella più calda della tua fiamma
si tratta di un occhi blu blu.

bastone candela oh stoppino
l'amore è tutto il bagliore
luce dell'amore ora raggiungere
con amore dovremmo sapere
alcuni potrebbero avere un problema con
che capite
ma si accende al buio di me
con gli occhi azzurri blu.

Why Poets Dance

Why Poets Dance

spending divers days walking through
once dormant delusions of my mind,
nights dancing in hold with ol' luce
his familiar minions cheer from the
periphery,

sets this mind to wonder why or
if i'm the only one and how to find
answers of this kind; like boats at
sea, possibly some code rendered
ably

even regularly, might attract a like
minded entity who would then wish
to dish their din back, have contact,
share code at least, then two-step
with me

aboard the apparition ship where
pain, love, gain, loss and how
we manage to remember or forget,
evolve, stagnate or die -- each
abductee

can share, compare, meld, and
often be alchemized to gold because
prized poets told, were bold enough
to find a way to reach those who
will read.

Avanti si dice che e' cosi' bella
Farsi capire, altre espresioni temporali
Si gli alberi cha parlano
Mi dicono del suo dolore
UN' ombra si insinua che
Detiene ancora I cercano
Luce e cume si trova vita ci parla ancora una volta
La foglie fanno apparire La
Immagini della sua faccia
A tease me con la sua brazza de odio
Tale è la media ma bella donna

Premium Member Strong Sea

In the rampant wave’s roar
Turbid, murky and furious
I see the cosmic light glows
Surrounding everywhere.

Nel ruggito del'onda
Torbida e furibonda
Brilla la luce cosmica
Che ovunque mi circonda.

Premium Member Splendid

Splendid
Splendid ,
as silver moon
is the woman of mine.
Life illuminates
tender and lively,
engaging ray
swift and keen
flowing and silken.
light and vivid colors,
invisible aura
which takes me
as music
unpredictable.

Splendida,
Splendida,
come argento di luna
è la mia donna.
La vita illumina
Tenera e vivace,
raggio avvolgente
rapido e penetrante
fluido e suadente.
Luce e colore vividi,
aura invisibile
che mi prende
come musica
imprevedibile.

Premium Member Genoa By Night

Genoa by night

Meandering streams of light
Like wisps of smoke
Wrap themselves on the hills
Of the dormant city,
Sliding towards the sea.
Genoa beautiful appears
By night too
Almost as awaiting
For the new day
Silently.

Genova di notte (italian version)

Rivoli di luce tortuosi
Come volute di fumo
Si avvolgono sulle colline
Della città addormentata,
Scendendo verso il mare.
Genova bella mi appare
Anche di notte
Quasi attendesse
Il nuovo giorno
Silenziosa.

Virginia Easter

They are in need of me today
of all days
so the table can be set with unbent forks
and their silent
roosters--ye soft wattles play on.
White linen veils
the ancient splintered picnicktop
for small hands
as chipped mallets tick-tock clumsily
between bowed feet.
So eggs are not too devilish to eat
or be found
among the thick Virginia grasses.
I tell stories
of the fabled light of Notre Dame
they can't believe
entirely because God is not a wafer.

They are in need of me today
as the son
for theirs has disowned himself to the hedon coast
listening to Phish,
and the postcards speak of nothing
but brilliant light.
They are in need of me today
as the daughter
for theirs is grown and has grown
a wailing cherub,
but fiddle folded napkins when I speak
of Cixous, Butler, Luce.

They are in need of me today
as the resurrection
of their spirits in fading Virginian light for I am
their beautiful heathen.
