I wait to meet you,
Sun setting upon my fate,
Now night cloaks my tears.
BANG
Shabang
Down the can
West winds blow away
Thought you were here to stay
Just like that gone anyway
"The end of a fleeting romance"
Believe in yourself.
The oak never asks permission to grow.
The sun never asks permission to rise.
Why should you?
This world is waiting for your words,
not another echo.
For as a person thinketh,
so they become.
Think greatly.
Speak truth.
Leave something behind
that outlives your heartbeat.
It began as nothing
just casual words
two strangers meeting
at the wrong time.
You were not my plan
nor I yours.
Love was never invited
yet it found a seat.
We resisted quietly
calling it friendship
denying the sparks
as anything but fire.
But hearts are stubborn
They bloom without permission
Ours became a story
never meant to happen.
Walking down a country road
I fell upon a baby bear talking with a hare.
They look like they were long time friends that didn't have a care.
How are you today said the baby bear standing up with his arms in the air.
I have a little problem today said the hare
But no one seems to care.
I can't seem to find where I put my carrots yesterday
I have looked everywhere even in the barn in the big stack of hay.
My carrots seem nowhere to be found.
My friend can you please help me track them down.
The two friends wandered off
In search of the carrots,
Along the way they found a trail that led them to a feret.
The ferret had a belly ache
You see he ate all of hare's carrots..
What a naughty feret
I'm not ready to let you go, because I love you so.
You found me not so long ago, I'm not ready to let you go.
I see you struggle more every day, needing me more along the way.
They'll be a time when I know that it's time to let you go.
Though I am but an ember in the wind,
my life so fleeting - to the Lord Most High.
He still sees me, He surely is El Roi,
and grants me both his mercy and reprieve.
Though Alpha and Omega, Jehovah,
my sins, He bore, upon a rugged Cross.
For His Son, Christ Jesus, paid price in full,
and trampled grave and serpent underfoot.
So may I never boast in naught but Christ,
or folly, or groan, with God's living breath.
No! Let the Prince of Peace, good Shepherd me,
for all that I am, is through Christ alone.
So temper now my head to a new song,
where you're e'er with me, and e'er will belong.
Poem of the day
05/16/2026.
'Blessed be the Name of the Lord'
Inside,
the walls of a rotting
log cabin,
situated in the piney woods,
you lie situated on me, adorning my
neck with soft summer kissings.
While
I pull dandelion
fluff up and out of your
hair.
Cypselae,
that’s what the seeds
are called,
miniature fruits that grant
wishes.
As far as wishes go,
this is my greatest.
As far as fruit goes,
everyone knows what happened
to Eden.
Eve, I diminished our
love into atoms.
And the cabin lays rotting
there still.
I close my eyes a moment, and the room begins to fade,
and suddenly I'm walking down a soft, sun-dappled grade,
The air is clear and gentle, like a perfect springtime day,
and there she is—my JoAnn-coming down the golden way,
She beams her cherished smile
I'll remember all my life,
the one that first told me, "You must make JoAnn your wife."
She takes my hand and says, “I've been right here all along,
I see you from Heaven, singing a beautiful song",
We sit beside a river that looks brighter than the sky,
she laughs about the fun we had and years that hurried by,
"You've still got work to do," she says, "and people yet to bless,
Share your gift of poetry, and your heart that will not rest."
"So visit when you miss me-l am never far from you,
Each time you share our story, I feel your love shining through,
One day we'll walk this path for real, no pain, no last goodbye,
but till that day, my love, enjoy your life, then come on by."
when Tahira died.
I won’’t nudge
the pendulum
back to ticking-tock
time or constant
living
until I feel alive
again.
“
heard some one saying
humans are powerful
indeed they are powerful, capturing mountain lands, sky, even animals bigger then them
but are they powerful enough to hold onto the one they love?
are they powerful enough to hold there heart when someone they love breaks it into pieces
are they really powerful enough to get the one they loved ?
and the question still remains
are humans really powerful enough?
the one that stands so powerful how come become powerless in love ?
Black and white our child
Plenty more to call our own
We won’t be alone
Watching the grey hairs grow
as the clock ticks
Smell of dough
Sounds of sneakers swishing by
Moments upon moments dissolve
Should've
Would've
Could've
Creep into thought
Walk
Run
Fly
Anything is better than this lie
It's been 10 years
Since we spoke
The conversation dull
Nothing connecting us
The past easily erased
Yet the loneliness is drawn on your face
I imagined a whirlwind of fortune and love
but the reality was empty and unfortunate.
The summer we always shared,
Those nights—just memories we had
Everything vanished in one go—
The ache remains? I don’t think so.
It’s just that I’m guilty of letting you go.
I didn’t try harder—that frustrates me, though I never let it show.
If I had spoken,
Things would’ve been different.
But the promises made on your mum’s deathbed aren’t meant to be broken,
Even if they shut the door of happiness you always left open.
This will be my last presence, before I shift abroad,
And my eyes must be paid back by dear Lord—
To bear and endure the most excruciating scene,
One which’ll be witnessed by every part of me.
It’s not unavoidable, though my brother wants me to see,
How you two confess your “love” for each other to the world,
And you’ll soon be a couple —while I clap with a smile,
Pretending I’ve heard the most wonderful news in a while.
A final caution—don’t look at me while walking down the aisle,
’Cause then I won’t be able to look back into your eyes.
I can’t let my feelings out on the best day of your life,
I gotta accept the fate,
That it’s just you and Jere and 10/10 I rate.
Time goes by like clouds in the wind.
When young, I did not notice their haste
But as I grew older and wiser,
I found each day too precious to waste.
As I look back upon my life,
A young man comes to mind.
I often wonder if he was 'the one':
A once in a lifetime find.
How to know true love's embrace?
With youthful games, the signs erase.
Missed signals fly all over the place.
Yet, to this day, I see his face.
Fate made the introductions
But I'll never know just why.
He was everything I dreamed of
But in the by and by.
Because I wasn't ready
And a future I could not see,
I let my one love slip away.
A time for us was not to be.
