It is said that change is good, is this true?
Last week we heard tell of a new change
My mate will die
Can this be good?
2011
when Tahira died.
I won’’t nudge
the pendulum
back to ticking-tock
time or constant
living
until I feel alive
again.
“
I need you.
I need you to be honest.
Why keep in touch?
What do you want from me?
What do you need?
I need...
You.
In or out...
Just all the way.
I need you.
I need you to be honest.
Why keep in touch?
What do you want from me?
What do you need?
I need...
You.
In or out...
Just all the way.
He smiled through his tears as he felt her heart beat a little stronger
knowing his prayer
today
had been answered
and heaven
would wait a little longer.
unspoken words linger
unfinished conversations whisper
soft gray clouds
veil sullen skies
a day of calm
anticipates a storm
Bite Size Poem #31 Poetry Contest
Many dangers of love
The resentment
Watch for a broken heart
Love can trap you
Travel far just to meet
Get you in debt
Gambling just for a chance
Therapist knew
They promised to love each other forever
They vowed their life would be one long honeymoon…
And it was…only they never could have anticipated
forever would come so soon.
I put my heart into your hand
It rested there, quietly waiting
But your love never came
My heart lay and grew cold
Now I do not know you
And my heart is lost to me.
I wish you were not
So it would not be sad,
It would not have been a thread,
Do not miss
There is no moisture in the eyes,
You don't want to come back,
Just a wish ....?
The salt rolls down
as the music flows
it moves through my soul
as we take our final twirl
He's leaving at dawn
as the sun streaks red
tomorrow it's just my heartbeat alone.
i lost your love once
you felt abandoned by me...
my love brought you back

I made myself my god
In selfishness I loved you
But not how you needed to be loved
Now looking back I can confidently say that I failed you
Just as I failed the real God
The God who is not me.
BANG
Shabang
Down the can
West winds blow away
Thought you were here to stay
Just like that gone anyway
"The end of a fleeting romance"
There comes a point that my poetry has to get serious
I try me best to focus and be imperious
When I write of love loss
Not that I don’t give a toss
But a funny thought creeps in and leaves me delirious
Sea green, sea blue
all I wanted was to be with you
but it was too much
you were smothered by my touch
I don’t wanna feel
the way you made me feel
ever again
I felt so unwanted,
pushed away and haunted
by what had been
A million memories
of a million kisses
my neck, my body...all over
kisses all the time
but, as the months
slowly turn into years
I have only a fading memories
... of a few
I wished
I saved some
for these
rainy days
Love was like a pebble that was dropped into a stream
It remained but a moment, then was gone like a dream
The waters became calm and left reflections of my fears
Where the ripples were my memories and the drops my tears
His mind was beautiful
His poetry was art
He made my soul full
His sad eyes stole my heart
He once was a true love of mine
My sun and stars, I was love blind
But no longer can I call him mine
And no longer does my heart shine
The street was empty. Silence pressed.
Shadows shifted where I least expected.
Time slowed… my heartbeat echoed.
I stepped forward, hands shaking.
The world stayed, quiet, as if waiting.
I moved…nothing followed everything changed.
Moon’s song torments the sleeping blooms’ fluorescent shine,
The petals fall from the tangles of frantically grasping vines,
Life fades from such speak-less beauty as death entwines,
Into my home now forever lost; and yet never mine…
A minute
An hour
A day
A little yellow house
A life envisioned
Previously forgotten
Recently ripped away
Pieces to be collected
Never shared
Healing alone
Fated to wonder
Will there be a day
When the thought of you
Passes without tears
In another life, I’ll love you,
For my devotion won't be new.
The time together that we spend,
Will last when we ascend.
So hold me close today,
And let us both together pray:
That as your breath draws thin,
Our love remains forever within.
The Bermuda dried to brown
and the dust bred
with the dead
heat of summer
falling
all around
enclosing me in its slumber
encasing me in its fate
and glad that I had
found
my calling
to lie dormant in the ground
void of
love
and void of hate
Form:
I loved someone
and when he left
Earth became a desert
vast and cold.
I loved someone
and every time he came back,
flowers grew again
where stones and rocks once were.
Just to remind me,
that nothing is as pretty
when he is not here.
Including me.
