I have become a moaner,
Huffing, puffing, growling, groaner
I find it hard to bend and stretch
My dog is too old to 'Go fetch'
'You fetch yourself.' my old pooch said.
As he snuggled up in his doggy bed.
I totter outside to get the paper,
That's lying on the lawn
It's poured with rain, the newspaper is wet,
Dirty, tattered and torn,
It was beyond redemption
Too far gone to read
Another bone of contention
Just what I need.
I can hear the telephone ringing,
From inside the house
My ears are stinging
Where is my spouse?
I try my best to hurry,
To answer the phone
If someone doesn't answer it,
They will think we are not home.
It is no use calling my husband,
Because he is stone deaf.
Not only is he deaf, he is losing his mind,
If truth be told, we are two of a kind.
I must try not to grumble, mutter and complain,
I must get more positive if I want to stay in the game.
Life is what you make it. I understand why that is so,
To look on the bright side is the best way to go.
When the kids are complaining
'cause it won't stop raining,
To be stuck indoors just sucks.
Don't let them pout,
Instead point out,
It's lovely weather for ducks!
When you're feeling blue
'cause your bills are due,
And you've got more checks than bucks,
Don't take to drink,
Count to ten and think,
It's lovely weather for ducks!
When you've burned the toast
And ruined the roast
'cause you just can't cook for shucks,
Lift up your chin
And order in,
It's lovely weather for ducks!
When your spirit's poor
'cause your job's a bore,
Your career is at its crux,
Just smile and shrug,
Lots of dough in drugs,
But before your self-esteem self-destructs,
Please remember this bit,
Not all drugs are legit,
And besides that's a business for schmucks.
So stay on the right side,
And look on the bright side,
Somewhere,
It's lovely weather for ducks!
You are shiny, you are blossoms, you're a star
And I look on to you
Yes, I look on to you
I'm unworthy to be with you worthy
Because I don't think it would be right for me to message
It's apparent and clear yet that I'm totally in refuse
Keep you out of my mind as my heart soul Spirit do find
That deep down, down inside I need you
It Seems like next under God all I do is think of you
Heart is beating my esteem is bleeding This Joy but just the thought of you
And as I'm thinking I'm ready missing of a love that I don't know who could be you
All I know is I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT YOU
As I look on to you
Yes! It's true, I look on to you
From the inside of your spirit soul and heart comes out praises
Worthy to be one of God's daughters wholesome reverence and such
So a spirited love of much I am acquaintedly desiring to know you much
This is why I look on to you
It's never about the outward side
it's always the inward side for I see this first
I view the inner side of you
As I look on to you

I knew the look on her face
before when she had struggled
back towards daylight
and her eyes seldom revealed
the guarded edge of her pain
Then I saw her find
a new love
a magical, soul opening
brave beauty
and I knew her joyful
heart by
The look on her face
Now I can barely stand
to see the jagged
edges of her broken heart
and shattered spirit
that is so visible in
The look on her face
And I already know
that soon
she will be
polished pink marble
as cold as
The look on her face
A loveable man was Janitor Stan
Ever willing to help to give and serve
A gentle man of modest plan
With never a protest, frown or reserve
Always saw the brighter side of life
Though his cards were not dealt from the top of the pile
In that testing game of blood and strife
Played them with a cheerful acceptance and smile
When his ship foundered in the South China Sea
Then held guest by the Empire of the Sun
With hosts of stern hospitality
He confronted his fate ‘til the contest was won
Later asked about pain and hardship faced
His reply: “it was a beautiful place”

I can tell by the look on your face
You don't love me anymore
i know you won't say a word if I walk out that door
Your silence is screaming at me
Time for me to fly free
I can tell by the look on your face
It's as painful for you as it is me
How did it take this long for me to see
That your heart is no longer mine
And there is no coming back this time
Feel blessed that tho’
Your pockets are empty…you
At least still have pants

N-ot on the mistake, not on the wrong or fault.

G-iving blindness to the eyes.
H-ow happy and nice to see
A-ll of the things that guide;
O-pen your eyes to sunrise, look on the bright side.
It's a wonder how we get through life's start
with tears flowing from the first depart
but still we take that breath and bravely forge ahead,
wondering what we could have done instead.
We cry, we shudder and we laugh,
we eat, we grow and pass a little gas;
we study and we learn then easily forget
just what the purpose of it all was, and yet -
we search for it, hold it briefly in our hands
grasping for love to be near where we stand;
but so quickly does the time flow steal it all away
and the past seems nothing but a game we played.
Hold on tight, you never know what is to come
perhaps the journey's just begun.
It's the only way to, you know!
My favorite funny reality song of all time.

In back of the crowd looking on
dreaming of being out in front
no longer lingering in shadows
of one like you
Eyes fixated on pirouettes
every step in perfection
lace floating through air
letting out you
Flights fought in fright
feet trapped in cobwebbed lies
wishing to be like that
where one can fly
Courage dipped in spiked punch
enough to disappear
lost in pristine palace halls
midnight echoes call
Running past doubts
that trickle tirelessly
freedom never lasting
never catching
not ever reaching for you
In back of a crowded room
I still look on
Never Look On Trouble (Children's song)
(Music and lyrics by Joan Donnelly written 1982)
Verse 1:
If there's a song in your heart nothing can keep you apart
From love ,real love
If there's a tune in your ear, a lightness in your step- suddenly appears
Chorus:
Never look on trouble but always on the love that fills the air
It's everywhere, everywhere
Verse 2:
If you've a melody m all the world will see-you're wrapped in love, real love
If there's a rainbow in your eye, the clouds will -in confusion-roll on by
2nd Chorus:
Never look on trouble but catch a glimpse of love that fills the air
It's everywhere, everywhere.
Love is what's experienced when you sing a song
A song joyful and friendly,
Come on sing along
Never look on trouble but always on the love that fills the air
It's everywhere, It's everywhere, Everywhere.....(then whispered loudly) Love is everywhere!
I formed a pre-teen, all girl choir in the 80's. I called them Rainbow and they performed publically songs I'd composed. We had a lot of fun and I am still in touch with most of them
The Look On My Child’s Face…
Just yesterday I noticed a look of
love on my child’s face.
This happened in a most “ordinary place.”
It was in our home.
A place by God’s design.
I felt God speaking to my heart
this particular time.
I didn’t take any time to
stop and realize,
The look of love and innocence
in my child’s eyes.
“Am I being the kind of Dad
God wants me to be?”
“Am I being an example of Christ
for my child to see?”
Have I been demonstrating my
God-given ability,
teaching my kids God’s love,
and responsibility?
May a Christ-like life in my kids
be clearly seen and understood,
As one day they will
grow into adulthood.
I hope that one day my
Children will say:
“I want to be like my Dad-
every single day!”
