Premium Member The Present and Future Madame President
On a magnificent morning, in the fragrant month of July,
I was heading to a new job, amidst the golden butterflies.

For I had been hired by Nasa's, Langley Research Center,
To work on new projects, and to...

Like the breathless air of twilight,
As the moon softly rises and tempts the stars
Into the quiet revelations, admissions
Grace, splendor, magnificence…
Painting the dreams with a quivering ink,
Spilled upon the emptiness beneath the still, white page,
Simplicity at...

Griselda
There was a garden gnome named Griselda
who lived by my back garden gate
she was nasty and mean, at times quite obscene
to Gregor, her poor garden mate.

She screeched and she stomped as she threw things
like my...

There Was No Noble Savage
I sometimes hear a stubborn myth,
that before Europeans came
the locals of America
all lived lives quite peaceful, and tame.

The old trope of the Noble Savage,
that somehow manages to persist,
polls show a disturbing number
of people believe in...

Reparation
Poet: Ken Jordan
Poem: Reparation
Edited by: Sparkle Jordan
written: July/2014

Why  can't we
get paid?

We want
our
reparation,

for
lost wages
of
our labor,

since
the
Atlantic Slave
Trade- began

Reparations
for pain
and
suffering,

from being
auctioned
as
commodity,

to
racist
White men -

We were sold
off,

to
different
slave owners,

displacing us
from our
mother, father,
sister,
and
brother, forever -

We demand
to be
compensated,

for our
separation
from
family -

We want reparation
for
false imprisonment
as slave's.

Why can't we
get paid?

What we...

Restore Life 2
Species did die ere man,
In the round of selection,
So many and so long.
What difference now
Should they go?

In trackless time
Lent to adaptation,
A peice succeeds
To its proper slot,
Only displacing
By adjusted gene.
Extinction wrought by man
Plays at no game,
But...

Shards rain down

drips from my many wounds
I lurch into motion

Standing Upon Timeless Thoughts
Incongruent realities thru timeless mist,
Pursuant pleasures are truly missed…
Forever looking within horizons lost,
Endeavor endless of loves tossed…

Hearts broken between blackened veils,
Parts shattered leaving lachrymal trails…
Secluded symphonies were quietly playing,
Occluded occupants of sacrificial slaying…

Time displacing illusions...

Yes I Thought About It
Yes I thought about it
Desires ruled in earnest
I thought that
You could be
The one
But then you showed your colors
Your claws and all your druthers
And I knew that
We’d have
No fun
I’m gone and now it’s over
You...
