In the term of birth, fields begin to mend.
Tough soil softens in tones of brown umber,
Insects wriggle to rejoice winter's end.
Spiders spin webs, rising from their slumber.

Virgin trees rock gently in morning breeze,
yellow snowdrops greet tulips with bluebells.
Fresh flowers entice butterflies with bees,
seducing senses through hypnotic spells.

You may think that writing
is dysfunctional-
to script a thought not using 
that sign of ABCs post-D.
This art that's built of words 
is inspiration-bound;
finding worthy, optional picks
not sounding lordly. 

It is most frustrating 
to omit that sign-
manipulating, controlling 
word forms in a satisfying way.
Committing to construction-
painfully choosing-
discarding- to find again-   
class vocabulary to display.

Sweltering summer temperatures
and warm sultry summer nights
left me scratching my legs red raw
I hate receiving nasty insect bites
