Premium MemberOrange Face

An orange face disguises my white independence
For saying stupid hurtful things that make no sense
I will win the day
And make them pay
Like when I let them almost hang Mike Pence!

If I lose the election for president, it’s jail
Promises to take care of women shall fail
Like it or not
Their wombs can rot
Pray I win my quest for the Holy Grail

Donald’s makeup man gives him quite a sunset glow
Is Trump in some weird GOP minstrel show?
Orange the new black face
An otter from otter-space
Just how far will this dumb joke have to go?

Barnabas Dracula Kitty

Barnabas darts deep in my closet each dawn
I go feed him at sunset but poof he’s gone
On Halloween night
I spot Barny in flight
His sharp fangs and black cape greeting kids on the lawn

Premium MemberA Promise I Can'T Keep

The sun was setting with a breeze
Seductively sliding behind the trees
Watching his descent
Was quite the event
I witnessed a day to night striptease

He left me with the biggest grin
I must admit with some chagrin
Watching as he changed
Glances were exchanged
I didn't mean to embarrass him

I just kept looking straight ahead
The entire horizon turned bright red
Tomorrow at sunrise
I'll apologize
Promising next time to turn my head

Moonlighting In June

Doctor Jekyll's special starling,
shortly pealed off, started snarling,
molting inside,
till speaks Miss. Hyde,
"Tough to be out cliched, darling."

There Once Was

There once was a dog from Nantucket
He lived with my neighbor Jim Puckett
He’d bark all night long
From sunset til dawn
So I loaded my gun and I shot it
dog

Summer Feelings

Wake up at the past noon
Between the set of the sun and the light of the moon
Continue our unfinished board game and roll the dice
Killing me slowly as cold as ice
Prolific life making me croon

Premium MemberWant Fries With That

Have a degree in psychology “Do you want fries with that?”
This is today's world so what's ahead, what will be hatched
Life at the bottom
Sadly till autumn
Then we sail off into the sunset but there are many gaps
sad

Fear Itself

. for public domain

We went for a walk after sunset in the dark,
among the shadows of chestnut trees near a park,
where howls in nearby cornfields
brought fear of what the sound yields,
and rose an unfriendly but wary question-mark.

"What fiend sets to prowl this auspicious time of night?
What fearsome, bold creature may show its teeth so bright?
stalking fresh flesh for its meal,
no mercy for those who kneel,
praying rescue them to the Heavenly Spirit of Light?"

After our walk, we stood on our porch there trembling,
collecting our calm, peaceful thoughts assembling,
endured a gauntlet of fear,
survived what did not appear,
yet ourselves nothing thereafter resembling.

AFRICAN SUNSET

Watching the sun sinking into a golden horizon,
My heart’s glad as I watch the evening sky siphon,
The scorching heat from an African day,
Giving reprieve to all life that may,
Rest until the morrow, now a day older and wizen!

Pretty Sunset Would Show

Pretty Sunset Would Show

Could see the sea so smoothly flow,
While a pretty sunset would show;
I am realizing,
Was agonizing;
Over a dead body weeds did grow.

Waited For Sunset To Be Duplicated

Waited for Sunset to be Duplicated

For a while we seem to have waited,
So we should see sunset duplicated;
To be enjoyed,
And not annoyed;
By beauty Trump was only irritated.

My Nephew, My Angel

Gazing into your angelic eyes
All around, echo your cries
With tiny feet, tiny palms
I cradle you, in my arms
From sunset until sunrise.

Your pretty smile, I love to see
You mean the world to me
Care for you all day all night
Never let you be out of sight
On my mind, in my heart you be.

When in grief with tears to hide,
To seek advice or to confide,
Your aunt will lend a patient ear,
Or a shoulder to rest your tear,
You will find me by your side.

We've met just a while ago
Yet each other, we seem to know
Will always wish the best for you
May you succeed in what you do
Can't wait to see you grow.

Premium MemberMy British Pals

Lately, I've gathered more friends on The Soup
To my British pals, I give out a big whoop
They're the reason no doubt
Spreading my lims about
Else I'd ride into the sunset, a gum-flapping coot

Chasing Sunset

Chasing sunset
In my mindset
With no helmet
In my language, I will pay no rent
I may need to kidnap it with a jet

An Indian Man

An Indian man was laughed at
for his long beard and big hat,
but much truth came out
of his wise mouth:
the next day the river dried at sunset!
