Head pounding

Head pounding, his words repeated in my head like a broken record
my mind and i
are at a game of hide and seek
only i think i've gotten the rules wrong
i am both
the hider
and the seeker
the hider says”if you don’t kill yourself the seeker will”
forever searching for her
but terrified of being seen

Everything will be okay

  Found

I forgot where you were.
Where can I find you?
In these displaced memories,
Has now become a silent black
pale fading while being
observed in the middle,
of this hibernation travail.
Here, the distance has caused:
a suffocation, views upon views,
On the choices we made, waiting,
For the sunrise.
Distant sirens, blurring, just outside
My window. Reminding me of our
times together, that everything will
be okay. Sounds like a broken record.
Stuck on replay; I’m not the man,
I used to be. Setting here in my
living room, blues, peering out of
The windows are a balancing act.
Longing for you, where can I find
you? Trying to find you.
We’re always returning,
Too sweet an interruption.
No matter what, I’ve loosened up.
In the right place, at the right time.
What’s mine is yours here to stay.
Stay with me, in time we will see.
When the party’s over.
Now that I’ve found you.

Our on and off relationship
was like a broken record
that never plays
the same way twice

Premium Member Internal Scars

Brain like a broken record,
Body still fighting strong year after year.
Your body, mind, and soul carry internal scars, only ones with trained eyes will notice them, because you’ve learned how to hide them so well.
Memories like to play, as if they were put on a flipbook, interrupting my daily rituals.
But little do most know, my skin is thicker than armor, always ready to endure the pain.

Premium Member Will Sleep ever find me?

Isn’t sleep supposed to be restful?
Isn’t sleep supposed to be calm?
Sleep is a time my mind goes off the deep end, replaying like a broken record.
Sleep is a time the panic and anxiety creep in, startling me awake.
Being abruptly awakened by such intense anxiety, feeling nauseous but like you're being choked at the same time.
The alarm doesn’t come fast enough yet too fast all at once. Body and mind still drained.
Will the calm of sleep ever find me?

That's what I Get

Right when i thought it was time to start (that's what I get)
Everything started falling apart (how could i forget?)
Broken heart
Finding out I was never a part...

As soon as I think I've found (that's what I get for thinking)
What I think is stable ground (how could i keep forgetting?)
I start to hear a familiar sound
My world falling apart all around

I dont mean to sound like a broken record
This loss I can no longer afford
I feel like I'm repelling without a cord
Going into war without a gun or sword

I guess i should take the hint finally
Nobody can ever really help me
I'm too broken, but I finally see
It's not the world, it's me

So from what I know
The defective has to go
Dont make it slow
Time to end this $#!@ show

I dont know how to begin
My life is in a tailspin
Not the driver, I'm in the passenger seat
Time to accept defeat.

Prison blues

I should of seen this coming
Our love was to good to be true
You showed your true colors when I got my prison blues
I never got a letter I never got a visit
Your promise was broken from the moment that you said it
I tried to call prepaid but the number had been changed
So I sit in this cell and dwell on the words that you said
Like a broken record in my head

I got these Prison blues when I got my Prison blues
You said you would ride tell you died but that was just a lie.

Premium Member dragging our feet

Every time my eyes close, I remember.

Once upon a time, we used to be friends, can you remember?

A quick hello would bring joy to each other's face

goodbye's said with a hollow heart

I despised each time we spent apart.

eagerly I wait for you to comfort me

never once having stopped longing for your company

As simple as a bad day instantly cured by a hug

lonely nights soothe with a kiss. telling me I'm loved

we both agree, those feelings stand,

Our love and its depth, like it did when we began

I still and will always, be your biggest fan

Yet who I fell for hopelessly

appears a different man

Our eyes tired, rest missed

Neither one prepared for, This we didn't plan

Without sounding like a broken record, cheesy cliché

We can not succeed without each other,

Together yes we can

This Time Around

Let it go,
let it flow -
cut it with your words.
Slash at every piece of it
until it finally hurts.

Tear and open up old wounds,
pouring in the salt.
Take aim at it and fire away,
pinning down the fault.

Yeah, all those little thing
that you pathetically hold
onto so desperately
as you continue to get old.

You’re like the dog the scripture says -
“to his vomit” it would seem.
Yeah, like a broken record
and you know just what I mean.

But this time you can pack it up
and take all of your .
Shove it right straight up your ass!
I am sick of it.

Cuz this time it is different,
I’ll no longer be the one
that you can still manipulate.
Baby I am done!

Premium Member Impasse

We are at an impasse
There's nothing I can say
at this point I think you're
better off if I just go away

I tried to talk to you
Just to explain how I feel
I try my best to keep it real

But you don't hear me when
I tell you I'm sad and I miss you
You only see complaints being issued

I pour out my heart to you
but you say being depressed
Is something I choose to be
but I just miss you so much
can't you see??

So, I bite my tongue so hard
there's blood in my mouth
I don't know what to say anymore
But I need to let it out

I'm confused and I feel
like we're out of touch
Maybe I say I love you
way too ing much.

You accused me of being
like a broken record
on repeat
over and over
with no retreat.

At this point
I know I should
probably just go away
because I make you miserable
when I stay.

But like a moth to a flame
you just keep drawing me back
I want to be near you
without all this flack.

It's funny
all you really had to say
was "I miss you too"
but you never did which makes me
so ing blue.

Bells

Every morning,
When the first bell rings,
I bite down a curse,
And try to give up sleep.
I fail, of course,
As I run down the street,
Skipping breakfast,
So that cranky old thing
Won’t win. Then,
Every 40 minutes it rings,
Like a broken record
(It’s what it’s meant to be).

On the corridor,
There is rusty crusty thing,
Obviously replaced
By the newer technology.
Close to midnight,
A child’s curiosity peaked,
She rang and called
A demon that was asleep.

-For the Bells poetry contest sponsored by Kim Rodrigues
-this is about alarms and school bells, and of course that one time a friend of mine decided to ring the very old traditional bell on the corridor in the middle of the night. Apparently someone came, asking for who it was, and blah, blah, blah. But hearing voices in the middle of the night is scary (even though it was most probably the school security guard), considering that our school is right next to a graveyard.

Blazing sun stuns my eyes, sunglasses offer no respite.
Clammy hands tremble, as the steering wheel begins vibrating.
Arsenic heat suffocates, wrapping its hands around my neck.
Parched lips beg to hydrate,
but 'Jeptha Creed' increases the intensity.
Thunder rumbles through my body,
as lightning strikes in 'desert storm' flashbacks -
all I see is red flags, red lights and red rage.

Feet seem cemented trying to find the break,
then stumble trying to regain control.
Dazed thoughts slowly crumble, searching for green to go.

Metal medley of machine guns, bloodshot,
go bang, bang, bang, as all around begins to fall down.
Grenades and strident screams reverberate like bombastic echoes,
over and over again, boom, boom, boom,
like a broken record with deep inherited scratches,
resembling resurfacing scars, left behind from mangled wounds.

Head is spinning like a bike wheel, spasms are speeding, unable to halt.

I scream at graphic memories of fallen comrades,
cursing, why I was the last man standing.

Walls Divide

A wall divides
me from that
peace of mind.
A peace I hope
one day I'll find.
But unti then,
I stare at the wall
and wonder
how its fair
to break down
when it was I
who did the hurting.

I stare at the wall
and I know
it was never fair.
That's what he
called it,
what he always said.
Like a broken record
reminding me
it would never be equal
and the fool I was
thought it was a joke.

A Mother's Grief

A MOTHER'S GRIEF
By: Dalene Bayobo - Dolot

Alone in my son's bedroom, I feel the the pain of missing him so much.
How I wish to hear him singing while playing his guitar.

It's almost nine years now since he was called home by our Creator.
But not a single day passed that his loving memories slip of my mind.

The many "what if" and "why's" remain unanswered,
Had to convince myself through my faith that it was God's will.

It broke my heart that he can no longer share our joys and laughter,
And enjoy driving the car like a car racer he has dream of.

Not all will understand my journey as a grieving mom,
Like a broken record, I love to tell his life's story to retain his memory.

I am grateful to God for giving me enough courage and strength,
To live and endure the pain in my heart as long as I breath.

A Fool That I Am

All of yesterdays wilt
Reflections of the glass were very clear
As it has always been
Today, I wish it hadn't been that way
Yearning and longing was what it was
The only thing I have ever known
I am afraid
The moment that I start to walk
I tell myself a lie
A fool that I am
Believed such a lie
Like a broken record
I do it again and again
As the darkness came
Today, I lie again
