My Brother's Keeper

Am I my brother’s keeper?
Like they taught in Sunday school.
I hope that it's not true.

I don't want to be his keeper.
He's much too sticky,
his stink will make you hurl.

Why would I want to keep him?
He always makes a mess
by breaking all my stuff.

Can my sister be his keeper?
He’s always liked her best.
I'm sure that she won't mind—

She’ll be just fine!

Premium Member Lighthouse Keeper

Majestic lighthouse you still stand
Foundations deep beneath the sand.
Of granite blocks and tapered tower
Uniquely structures staying power.

At dusk, the keeper walked the stairs
Along the way each window checks.
With watchful eyes, the ocean scanned
The routes for those who crossed he planned.

From dusk to dawn, bright signals send
This light shone through optic lens.
Then through the day this lens was cleaned
So, through the night the lighthouse beamed.

The sailors would on him depend
For them, their lives he would defend.
But modern days have seen decline
And rarely now do keepers climb.

But stories; many could be told
From memories lighthouses hold.
Of battles won and lost at sea
That only keeper’s eyes could see.

Premium Member What If The Old Lighthouse Could Speak, What Would It Say?

This old lighthouse wants to say,
about the cold clouds of gray.
When it rained all night and day,
with the keeper wanting to pray.
Then the sun would come out to play,
making the blue sea a pretty highway.
This old lighthouse saw many ships,
some sailed by and some smashed like a souffle.
Sailing by were many birds of prey,
telling the old lighthouse it was like a cast away.
Old lighthouse even on Christmas day,
I can not getaway.
For the old lighthouse and keeper was it judgment day?
Why did the keeper want to stay?
Why not just run away?
The keeper knew he could not leave ~ no way,
telling God they both were not a runway.

The Guardian of Hell: A Sinner's Slumber

The obsidian tunnels of this godless realm,
Uncoil like serpents where I blindly tread.
A shadow stalks, a nightmare at the helm,
Feeding upon the frantic steps I dread.
What does he want, this shadow in the smoke?
My ankles drag the burning chains of hell.
He stands above me, draped in misery's cloak,
The brutal keeper of a silent cell.
For what unknown transgression do I weep?
I bear a crushing weight I cannot name.
The dark is suffocating, fierce, and deep,
A blind expanse of agony and shame.
Then through the vault, his iron voice commands:
"Halt, sinner, halt! And face my burning glare!"
The Lord of Ash before my terror stands,
And flings me down into the deep despair.
"Wake up!" he roars, "The pit has claimed its prize!
Confess your hidden crime into the night!
Shatter the silence, strip away the lies,
And only then shall you return to light!"

goal keeper

Goalkeeper
When there is a football match on TV, I switch it on
In the last ten minutes of the match, my boredom threshold
Is low and to sit there watching the game for ninety minutes, really!
I used to play football as a boy, a goalkeeper of all things, then
I grew up and chased girls instead, which was often painful
Like accidentally falling in love, that happened frequently.
Falling in love is painful, walking into walls, and being nice
To children related to the object of my adoration
Then the pain of being rejected led to long walks and dark thoughts
Under a night sky, bittersweet flagellation, why did she leave me?
This too ended now, I`m a goalkeeper again, defend the goal, and try
To save the ball kicking my way

I am the keeper of all things

I am the keeper of all things
Always closed and never open
Never to share
Never to whisper
I am the one listening to all your frustrations your aggravations and the things that piss you off in your life your job everything
Never to share
Never to whisper
I am the one sinking in the shadows as a temporary guest
Hearing what they all say about everything yet for me
Never to share
Never to whisper
I am the one that slowly defends in the shadows against nay sayers
Yet for your nay sayers I am also the keeper of all things
Never to share
Never to whisper
While you sit there coldly i want you to remember
I am always closed never open
Never to share
Never to whisper
I am the one to promise never to say a word
For me that is a promise held dearly regardless of what is being said in the shadows
The shadows is where the whispers come from take them for a grain of salt for I have not done anything
At the end of the day
I am the keeper of all things for everyone
Always closed never open
Never to share
Never to whisper

Premium Member Keeper of the Flame

A single light, a fragile spark
Guides the lost through endless dark.

The Keeper guards it, steadfast, still
A beacon strong, see.. a force of will.

It cannot falter, cannot fade
Its warmth eternal, softly laid.

The Keeper’s task, to hold it high
Until the stars themselves must die.

Nothing

'Nothing works faster'
the advertisement read
'Nothing works better'
the adman said
and they wouldn't lie
so altho' I don't know about you
but if Nothing is best
and all that's true
it's Nothing for me
Nothing's a keeper
not only that
Nothing is cheaper

The Wicket Keeper

**The Wicket-Keeper**

Today, I learned that a lover I once cherished has passed away. Just yesterday, he was alive, and I never imagined I would feel this way about him. It’s strange how I rarely think about the rain unless it floods my drains, my driveway, or my beloved rose garden, or dampens my happy mood. Yet, here I am, grappling with a deep sadness over his death.

The tender moments we shared will always be etched in my memory, even amidst the ups and downs that relationships bring. Our past was filled with challenges, perhaps I was mistaken, or maybe he was right. But tonight, I find myself reflecting on the love we had. He was my old lover, the wicketkeeper, someone I held dear in my heart, now a distant memory that I will always carry with me.

My Brother's Keeper

Am I my brother’s keeper?

Well…in a way

I keep your secrets in a chamber of my heart

I keep your confidences hidden behind the lids of my eyes

I keep your skeletons locked in the cupboard of my mind

I keep your insecurities safe in a bag of many tears you’ve cried

I keep your hopes in a jar with no lid

I keep your ambitions as fuel for your summer fire

I keep your dreams sitting on my favorite star

I keep your truth as a candle that lights the path for all that you conspire

Am I my brother’s keeper?

Well…in a way

My brothers keeper

Am I my brothers keeper , beside him will I stand . When I see him falling will I reach out with my hand . Will I stand beside him through battles big and small . Am I the one he always knows will take late night call . Am I the one he speaks to, and knows with me it stays . Will I stand beside him throw all the darkest days . I am my brothers keeper and we won’t stand alone . For we are truely brothers respect that’s set in stone . So if he can not find the strength, when he can’t carry on . Thats when I will carry him , for him I will be strong . I’ll stand with him in battle, I’ll walk with him through pain . I’ll stand with him through thunder storms while welcoming the rain . My friend you are that brother , you are a real true friend . I’m not here a moment , I’m here until the end

The Keeper Of Your Heart

I’ll sing to your demons,
Lay in my arms, find peace in my hold.
Don’t panic when you feel yourself falling,
Keep holding onto me—I’ll never let go.

When nightmares creep in and shadows loom,
Listen to my heartbeat; it’s your lullaby.
I’ll weave stories of starlit skies and tranquil seas,
Guiding you softly into your dreams.

Tell me of your weakness; I’ll be your shield,
A steadfast guardian through every storm.
Show me your scars, etched by time and trials;
Let me soothe them, my touch a gentle balm.

Spill your secrets, unspoken and deep,
I’ll tuck them safely within my soul.
Be my tulip, vibrant and rare,
A radiant light in a sea of roses.

Together, we’ll rewrite the tale of love,
Unfolding a journey only we can know.

To the Keeper of My Soul

You hold my heart in tender grace,
A sanctuary, a sacred place.
With every glance, my spirit soars,
You are the key to all my doors.

Bound to you, my soul takes flight,
A love eternal, pure, and bright.
In your arms, the world stands still,
A gentle warmth, a soothing thrill.

Your laughter dances in my veins,
Erasing shadows, healing pains.
Your eyes, a haven, deep and true,
Reflect the love I feel for you.

Every breath, a whispered vow,
Forever starts with here and now.
To cherish, honor, hold, and see—
Your heart is where I’m meant to be.

So take this love, my soul’s refrain,
In joy, in sorrow, sun or rain.
For you, my heart will always beat,
My love, my world, my soul’s retreat.

The keeper of secrets

The leaves are falling, murmuring truths to the wind
Creating a song of old whispers nestled in the fallen leaves
The wind, the keeper of secrets
Haunts the wanderers—me,
Tracing the silent path to change
Each turn of color an echo of what once was

  And so, the leaves fall,
crushed under the weight of each passing step,
only to rise again,
as the seasons shift in an endless rhythm,
teaching me that change is woven
into each breath I take

  Reminding me of faded memories,
That bloom like wildflowers between the cracks of now,
Bringing sweetness and sting in their scent,
They linger, weaving through the keeper of secrets,
Offering me hope of renewal in the amidst of change
