Premium MemberThanatos

He carried the stench of death upon him
so he had, from birth, and all knew but he.
All he met, unknown, sang a silent hymn
that he would not touch, so extend the spree.

Yet, he lived amongst them, as fate decreed
for those, caressed who had such little choice
turned to other deities to intercede;
they were not there, or did not hear their voice.

So death followed him, a pitying trail
across far distances, and endless space;
leaving a few, untouched, to mourn and wail;
that is the cycle of our human race.

Premium MemberThe World is Bleeding

The world is bleeding; anyone can see.
Red with blood it is indeed.
Oh, when from pain will we all be free?

A sickness infects the bourgeoisie
while we suffer from callous leaders’ greed.
The world is bleeding; anyone can see.

You can’t disguise wealth’s stench with sweet potpourri
when slaves to poverty are mired in their need.
Oh, when from pain will we all be free?

Hunger and disease are the sad reality.
It only seems corruption is what’s guaranteed.
The world is bleeding; anyone can see.

Oh, the misery from which so many cannot flee.
Many try to just get by yet can’t succeed.
Oh, when from pain will we all be free?

No man can offer up a good Plan B.
Only God one day will intercede.
The world is bleeding; anyone can see.
Oh, when from pain will we all be free?

Breaking Benjamin - Far Away

Just as the elements within our lives are inevitable to intercede
There are also uncontrolled forces that have to circle the world
Pride, envy, gluttony, lust, sloth, wrath, and greed
These 7 deadly sins are sold more than the blooded diamonds and pearls

With prayer and faith I stand next to my mother.
And with undoubted submission I'd give anything for my sister.
I'll forever go to war for and with my brother.
But ever since Cain killed Abel, family's have killed, and killers get richer.

Lord when you gather your souls back please grant us your mercy
Grab our hearts with the inner core of your palms.
We drink from a cup but Revelations still leaves us thirsty.
Deliver me like the light you spoke of in the beautiful book of Psalms.

Wash the pain, suffering, and betrayal from our flesh.
Let your light dry away the history of grieving within tears.
Invite me to throw away my sins as I ask with all my chest.
And forgive man as I will forgive myself when your flood crosses near.

Premium MemberPick up line

I met her at a place I dine
along a lonesome road
I tried to think of a pick-up line
I went into clever mode.

But they've taken all the pick-up lines
I didn't want to offend a date
Should I buy her, her choice of wines?
I spent ten minutes in that debate.

Then I asked her if her name was Google, because she was what I was searching for
She said, "I heard that one, it makes me snore."
I said, "how was heaven when you left it?" she said "they've tried that one too:
Why don't you get lost and leave me to my brew."

I could not give up, her beauty gave me a thrill
I tried a different tack, showed a thousand-dollar bill
I said, "how can I plan our wedding if I don't even have your number?"
Her eyes flashed; she picked up a piece of lumber.

the bartender saw me plead
He came forward to intercede
She said "he's hitting on me, but lumber can hit too:
And as for this bar, I could sue."

So I left her in the bar
I felt so sad and old
With the wrong line you can't get far
I guess I had to fold

So I married Mary Lou instead
Though she watches reruns of "Daffy Duck."
Better to take what you can get
it's not always smart to push your luck.

Premium MemberCritterature: A Word About the Centipede

Please don't think it odd if I intercede
On behalf of the poor lowly centipede.
Though he does get the blues
When he has to buy shoes,
He's better off than his cousin, the millipede.

Premium MemberAbra Macabre

When what I wrote is hard to read,
the crowd goes, Whoa, not touching that.
Perhaps someone should intercede
to edit out the ghoulish splat.

It’s not clear why my mind goes there;
the childhood fever might be it.
My mother often voiced despair,
but I prefer macabre wit.

Beneath calm seas, menacing kelp
ensnares the otter fleeing Jaws.
My wife’s convinced I should seek help
to find the underlying cause.

Though I in earnest sometimes try,
the animals just seem to die.

Miracle Man

Murmurs from the womb beg, allow me a voice,
who will intercede for me or give me nod?
Countless argue, over rights to make this choice?
Many believe this right remains with God.

Premium MemberSOMETIMES A HUG IS ALL YOU NEED

When someone we love is hurting
may we be blessed…not always with words to intercede…
but to realize sometimes…in that moment
a hug is all they need.

Premium MemberDan's Favorite Birds - 5 of 10 - Green-winged Teal

The green-winged teal is both cute and fat
And likes to seek food upon a mudflat.
He is known to eat a stem or a seed.
When he eats maggots, should I intercede?

Tonn Chliodhna
My lover haunts here, he hears me plead
with each ninth wave, I break and bleed.

I left Tir Tairngine, for Ciabhad’s love,
jealous MacLir would intercede

That deity in vengeance wrought
a spell borne from his lust and greed.

Lulled asleep, and wrapped in waves
I drowned in the harbor of Glandore sea.

I search for signs of Ciabhad,
although I’ve died, I am not freed

Each ninth wave, my grieving peaks
I stack my height and gather speed,

white capped waves of Goddess fists
hurl viciously both wood and weed.

My fingers clutch the shoreline sand,
and drag debris as I recede.

I sift through kelp, through shells and stone
and yet I know, I shan’t succeed.

Banshee laments pierce the wind,
split every stone and every weed.

I am Chliodhna, I’ve lost my love;
with each ninth wave, I break, and bleed.

Premium MemberNeed

In the estates a baby cries.
In the streets a young man dies.
In the alleys they'll sell you drugs.
In the schools kids now use guns.
In the world there's so much need
Why won't the government intercede?

Premium MemberIn The Midst Of A Storm

In the midst of a storm
Life is never the norm
Blessed with mercy and grace
As you step, shorten your pace
Early one Fall morning in November
As Sadie started her day to remember
She was attacked without a warning
To her surprise, a pack of dogs came swarming
Viciously overwhelmed with her only defense
Simply taking in nature's treasures
The serene quietness of life
Her unrelenting faith was the catalyst
For her survival to see another day
God's strength is all that you need
God sent His angels to intercede
Harrowing screams brought her neighbors
Her prayers were answered
Call on your Savior
God will bless you with His favor
God will comfort and care for you
After the storm passes
Turbulence will create chaos
Confusion is self evident
Fear is only a mirage
That was transformed into anger
Sadie is in great spirits
A testament to her gratitude and attitude
Life is never the norm
In the midst of a storm

Premium MemberSimply Simple

Straight from the heart, no fancy words
Don't know any anyway
Simply simple that's how I write poetry
Can't write it any other way

I deeply admire those poets among us
Using creative and flowing verse
Talents that far exceed my humble efforts
With me, humour comes first

Oh I sometimes write about love and stuff
It pales beside others I read
Just to write those flowery sweet lines
But the sillies seem to intercede

Oh well I've come to accept who I am
What ya see is what ya get
Simply simple that's how I write poetry
A sweet and cozy tete-a-tete!

Threads of Deception: Love's Fragile Dance

In a tale entwined with Chib,
A love perceived as true, but plagued by deceit,
Her affection feigned, insincere it seems,
For all she desires is wealth, not dreams.

Her kin, entrapped by vices they crave,
Unable to provide for her, her needs deprave,
Thus, she latches onto love's fragile thread,
In hopes material gain will fill her void instead.

Yet my love for her remains untainted, pure,
Blinded by hope, unable to fully endure,
Her heart's true intention, a secret unknown,
For I'm lost in a whirlwind, emotions overthrown.

Oh, how I yearn for love's genuine embrace,
But her motives concealed, a deceptive chase,
I must find the strength to break free,
From this web spun with ill-fated glee.

Love, in its essence, should transcend all greed,
A bond built on trust, where hearts intercede,
Though tempted by her false charms' allure,
I shall seek a love that's authentic and sure.

With lessons learned, I'll mend my wounded heart,
Steering clear of illusions, playing my part,
For a love that's sincere shall someday find me,
And in its embrace, I'll find serenity.

Premium MemberWalking the Tightrope

There's a narrow strand beneath us,
    Stretching out to obscurity.
And it beckons us to proceed upon it,
    While every step has insecurity.

This is the path our mentality travels,
    Where emotion and cognition play.
And while that rope will often wobble,
    Attempts to balance mustn't delay.

Thought and feelings are rarely separate
Partners, as their bond tends to grow in time.
Yet it's their weight that is ever-changing,
Allowing actions to go along and climb.

Together, most thought and feeling,
Are in sync with behavior displayed.
But at times instinct may intercede,
While any rationale is ignored & betrayed.

This balancing act remains constant,
With 'time-outs' only given to sleep.
Though some dreams may give more rope to
Cross-over, the fall in the abyss is not too deep.
