Best Intercede Poems
I wonder where I will be
when the sun sets on me…
for if I were a flake of snow,
a dying breeze, or autumn leaf...
then I’d know.
I am but a blink of a father’s eye
desperate for answers to my words and rhymes
waiting for another world or God to intercede,
in what may come or ever may be.
I wonder where I will be
when the moon rises over me...
for if I were shadows in a cave,
a cricket, star, or ocean wave...
then I'd know.
I am but a drop of rain on a summer night
vaporizing where I fall and touch,
waiting for clouds and sky to again define me;
not knowing who I ever was or aimed to be.
If I am clay in my Maker’s hands…pliable, yielding,
I wonder where my own will comes to end
and where His fingers start forming me
into the masterpiece He desires me to be.
All the answers dancing gracefully,
from omnipotence and my need to be free…
I wonder where I’ll be, when I start to
speak, live, breathe, dance….fearlessly.
If I were air and sea, with all of Heaven shining on me,
then, I’d know…

I strain against the rising tide
But I find no solace there.
My only hope for some success
Is to turn to fervent prayer.
Now you may think it childish
But I care not what others say.
So leave me to my supplication
And hope relief will come my way.
How did I come to this dilemma
That has brought me close to tears?
The fault is mine and mine alone...
I have lived too many years.
Old age is wrapped around me
And Death taunts me with its laugh.
I turn to prayer to exhort dear Heaven
To intercede on my behalf.
My battered body lies is in tatters...
I've added ten inches to my waist.
I've enough ear hair to traumatize a sailor...
I've lost my sense of taste.
Old age should not to be entered into lightly
With its oddities and quirks.
But I've finally reached that stage of life
Where nothing really works.
There were things I took for granted
In the ignorance of my youth.
Those days are just a memory now
As I confront this awful truth.
I am possessed with fear and panic
And in pain I'm forced to stoop.
So sweet Jesus... Lord in Heaven...
Why can't I take a poop?
The End

Sisyphus. The Might.
Death now humiliated,
chained by mortal king,
will you remain with the dead ?
No. This is not yet your realm.
Sisyphus. The Craft.
Hades now outraged,
outwitted by mortal king,
do you yet deceive the dead ?
Yes. Such remains your realm.
Sisyphus. The Hill.
Zeus, now intercede,
chastise the mortal king,
will his eternity be spared ?
No. Such is not his reward.
Sisyphus. The Heft.
Might fades, craft fails,
contrite the mortal king,
is the futility to endure ?
Yes. Such is his reward.
Sisyphus. Now Fall.

Verse
She knelt upon a plank, plain oaken
(sable cloak, her mourning guise),
and sensed the breath of distant sighs,
pale shades of pain behind blue eyes…
While clasping close a cross-like token
(holding hope for those in need)
she prayed her Lord "please intercede,
my woes be washed, my soul be freed"…
Archangels, in the skies evoken
(candles flickered, shadows shivered),
through the panes, the moonlight quivered,
summoned forth, the wish delivered…
Forgotten words he once had spoken
(dimly echoed ’neath the dome)
swept sweetness of the honeycomb
o'er distant realms they used to roam…
At midnight's knell, in dreams awoken,
memories of love unfeigned…
Though loneliness of grief remained,
she still held hope… hope hadn't waned…
And when the dawn had early broken,
by the font, in peace, she lay…
As sudden as a sunset ray,
the light of life had slipped away…

Indigenous woman—rarely accompanied by their
white sisters—or their men enter
through the side door
of St. Peter’s Church.
Here they are boxed in cool stucco,
and stained-glass. A flock of Mexican
Madonna’s shift today to encompass
their fairer sister:
Dios te salve, Maria. Llena eres de gracia: El Señor es contigo.
Bendita tú eres entre todas las mujeres. Y bendito es
el fruto de tu vientre:,Jesús.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is
the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Santa María, Madre de Dios, ruega por nosotros,
pecadores, ahora y en la hora ...
drones on—and on—and on
within the heavenly heights of gilded frescos—bleeding—
rainbows prism the room in false light, kaleidoscoping upon
the walls—murals of brocade, gold-threaded catch random rays.
Woman anchor the pews with their desires—
Pliant and pleading these mothers beseech Mary to intercede:
for first class citizenship (inside and outside the Church)
for work, for health, for a better life for their children.
Voices of the lamb bleating; dinner for the wolves, they pray.
SHORT SHRIFT-little or no attention or consideration

I’m standing in the gap for children everywhere.
Wandering this world of sin and doesn’t have a prayer.
I’m standing in the gap for soldiers everywhere.
Fighting an earthly war and dodging bullets everywhere.
I’m standing in the gap for the families that are lost
So their souls will turn back to God
and they will come boldly to the cross.
I’m standing in the gap for my sisters and my brothers.
We must stop this war of hatred
And return to loving one another.
I’m standing in the gap for all of my fellow poets.
That your minds will be strengthened and
Your soul will be touched.
I’m standing in the gap for everyone who says pray for me.
I will intercede for you friends. No matter what the need.
I will pray for your protection all through out the day.
I will pray for your healing and the increasing of your faith.
I will pray for guidance as you go from place to place.
I will pray for His love, Mercy and Peace be with you this very day.
I’m standing in the gap for Ezekiel 22:30 says..And I sought for a man
Among them that , should make up the hedge, and
stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it:
but I found none.
I Am Standing In the Gap….

A Montague. A Capulet.
‘Twas at a masquerade they met.
Two strangers caught each other's eyes
as strains of love began to rise.
Upon a courtyard balcony,
amidst the angst of family,
‘twas there the pair professed love's need -
though Kismet's kiss would intercede.
Alas, the banes of passion bleed -
resolving gest through tragedy.
The foils of fate singed hot as coals
yet death would reunite their souls.
Two hearts in heaven overflow -
One Juliet. One Romeo.

Sonnet
Amidst the solitude of empty pews in hallowed halls
she took a seat and prayed she would not be forsaken.
Candles lit, soft glow throwing shadows on the walls.
Tear glistened cheeks, cries for all death had taken.
In whispered breath she begged for her heart to mend,
taking comfort in memories to free her from the gloom
of misery so burdensome that she could not comprehend
why the one she loved lay buried, sealed within a tomb.
Fate's sting cuffed a cruel blow with its callous reach,
leaving her heart stabbed deep enough to make it bleed.
In supplication, she prayed for healing and to beseech,
that in her time of need, "Merciful Father, please intercede."
In her hand, a wilted rose; once a radiant crimson flower,
its fragrance mingled with the scent of votives as they melt.
No solace found; she left the darkness of that sullen hour.
Remaining was the imprint of sorrow where she had knelt.
She walked in moonlight, grieving for love, once savored,
mourning, bereaved and lost in deep emotional despair.
She sang a hymn with lips that trembled and quavered,
mist falling on widow's weeds, she had the need to wear.

When love lies in a crypt unnamed
And it's fire lives on lips untamed
And the wild fury wakes from it's sleep
to find the who or what it seeks
With thirst and hunger of the starving
Armed with strength men find alarming
and the valor of a silent knight
Antisipating whatever unknown fight
built for battle and not for flight
Searching both the days and nights
for the thing that illudes the sight
Made of love and things measured
identified by hopes and things treasured
Found only by the eyes of the soul
to satisfy an insatiable goal
Where only grace can intercede
and the lonely has met its chosen seed
To give to it's own special need
That one of which the dreamer dreamt
That angel for whom the eyes have wept
The secrets that one's heart has kept
All fulfilled to the deepest depth
To the place where inspiration ferried
and to the person imagination carried
All wrapped in things called thought
Inescapable this thing where it's caught
My heaven, where my paradise is you
My perfect, is everything you do
My soul has found its rest
with love, that turned my crypt into a nest
With you, my soul has been blessed
with peace, and this is happiness.

Through shadowed forest glade she rode
'Midst grey and gloomy chill
No single thought of safety did
A moment stay her will
The mist clung to her nostrils as
She charged into the brush
The creatures of the forest paused
In terrifying hush
Foreboding seeped into her bones
Ghastly, from ages spent
Urging her mount to breakneck speed
Resolve would not relent
To slow would mean downfall into
A consequence of dread
She knew if she but lost an inch
He lover would be dead
This morn she was awakened by
His servant at her door
And with his last breath utterance
Fell bloodied to the floor
It seems a tartan wearing clan
Appeared in red and green
‘Tis true that a more fearful sight
Is rarely ever seen
Unwittingly, they’d crossed the line
Into the Fraser realm
It was then they were set upon
In stand of noble elm
So, now she raced to intercede
Upon her love’s behalf
To beg for mercy from the chief;
That he withhold his wrath
The secret she had hidden would
Surely offset slaughter
It was true she had been born the
Fraser Chieftain’s daughter
She’d fled her home ten years before
With young Lord Cameron
The rival clan’s incumbent heir
Her lover and champion
She’d not been sorry up to now
For following her heart
She knew the toll her love would take
Right from the very start
But this would be a sacrifice
She'd never wished to make
That for his life she would exchange
Hers for the clan to take

Narrative
Where is God hiding? Could it be inside
you or me or others that you know?
If God is everywhere, then why
would that not be so. I think
God’s spirit touches us,
and that is the link!
With God’s spirit
guiding us,
we find
HIM.
HE
is in
our souls when
we show faith and,
with humility,
ask God to intercede
on behalf of friends who need
His assistance; thus through prayer
we find God, for He isn’t hiding.
He’s waiting for your call! He is right there.

Etheree
The distant sounds of silent screams
Echo through my soul
A nightmare filled with broken dreams
That time cannot console
My helpless mind will not yield
To these voices that I hear
My captive thoughts have not revealed
The purpose of my fear
Loneliness mocks my very being
As time comes screeching to a halt
Blame hides my eyes from seeing
Insisting it's not my fault
They say I'm mad, mad indeed
They know nothing of my pain
There's no one here to intercede
So this madness must remain
They call me a poet, poet indeed
How is it they do not know?
Can't they see the words I bleed
I'm Edgar Allan Poe

Jesus is not in the tomb, my LORD and Redeemer lives!
He is in the heart of all those who in Him believes!
He has promised to come into us and remain
Forever dwelling in us through every joy and pain.
To all those who have opened the door of their hearts
The promised Holy Spirit, the Counselor, He imparts.
It's the will of the Father that in Christ Jesus we trust
Believe in His Word, meditate on it, we must.
Jesus is not in the tomb, His kingdom is within us,
Eternal life is knowing Him, He makes us righteous.
God saved us through Him because of grace and mercy
Christ saved us completely and prays for you and me.

Verse
A gut full of grease is a glutton for greed
A swirling cesspool of sinful man's seed
These men of corruption, a pitiful breed
They trust their own hearts, which deceives them indeed
Prey for the fallen and wicked to feed
Who whisper with promise to fill man's each need
They scoff at God's promise, those depraved will not heed
They mock every word in God's Book when they read
Rejecters of Truth, in which mankind is preed
They have no fear of Christ, Who shall judge every deed
He Who gives man the breath for his life to proceed
He alone, in strict justice, shall perfectly meed
He Who casts into hell, by His Word, whence decreed
He Whose anger, and fury, and wrath shall exceed
All the strength of His creatures, who must there ever dreed
He Who mocks, in derision, all the damned as they plead
He Who laughs as they weep and they wail to be freed
He Who kindles the fire that shall burn every weed
Reprobate beings shall become as a glede
The bread of the leaven He shall thoroughly knead
He Who bled as they jeered shall then jeer as they bleed
When He smites with His iron they'll remember the reed
They'll remember His cup, that accursed Ganymede
He forsaken of God that the veil should be screed
He Who endured that redemption succeed
He Who for sinners was made sin, to accede
For sin, and the Devil, and death to impede
The powers of darkness were forced to recede
As did that legion of swine once stampede
When Jesus returns riding 'pon a white steed
Armies of angels and saints shall He lead
Open your ears and your eyes and take heed
Do not let your heart be a stone when you read
The Word became flesh, as the God-Head decreed
Son of God, Son of man, incorruptible Seed
A Savior for every sinner in need
Son of man, in the flesh, come to weep and to bleed
Son of God, Bread from heaven, to heal and to feed
Christ Jesus, the Son, that He might intercede
To reconcile God with the chosen to be freed
He Who the Son frees shall be free indeed

Where the water washes white surfs across
Sand banks porous with green dreams in our hearts
Where the sun surveys the wet desert of loss
The salt thread like blood stitching together our parts
Find me there wandering the wailing shores
I am a new citizen with ancient desires still
Living on the restless rim of of crinkled azures;
Watching history bleach my memory of will.
Here I pine to see my mother whole as I am
Here I pray for justice from the impaled lamb
This Caribbean sea that pens my rage in me
Water where my ancestors footsteps no imprints leave
Of vast voyages now void on the Atlantic lea
This Caribbean sea in modern voice I cannot grieve
My people sundered like a broken ship
Mastless, anchorless, drifting drumless on weed
My people bleeding from tongue lash and whip
And no Cudjoe, Tacky, or Boukman to intercede
I am a citizen of the rim, a place undefined
In the subtle representations where I'm maligned.
Here in this world of diverse languages and shade
Across the bloodless salt of shrivelled water we trade.
