The Black Sea of Hostility**

I express no willingness to engage in the metaphorical black sea of hostility. It is a misconception to believe that individuals are born with fractured souls; rather, such conditions develop throughout one’s life.

One enters this world devoid of sin, possessing innate virtues and qualities. However, I am not inclined to accept an invitation to your table, where the tablecloth is whiter than the pristine blanket of snow on Monsanto Lake. I will not participate in such gatherings.

Your opulent Gorham silverware glimmers, reminiscent of clusters of grapes hanging from a mountain. Nevertheless, I remain disinterested in both swimming in this sea or dining at a table rooted in animosity.

The children raised in this environment are instructed to disdain the clergy. Meanwhile, violence stains the streets of northern communities as politicians indulge in lavish dinners costing $2,000 per plate. One must question who is safeguarding the gates of moral decay.

The realm of politics is indeed tumultuous.

Premium Member WAYS OF PROVIDENCE

Am I walking through Ways of Providence ?
or walking just to struggle on my own !
I am confused , also amused to sense
reality ! Am I guided or lone ?

Are pre- scheduled all the happenstances !
Am I instructed by Divine Power ?
Is there a supreme strength to embower ?
Or, I surrender to circumstances !

Does Divine Guidance fabricate my fate ?
Then life will turn purposeless - meaningless.
No use of brain -mind-soul to navigate.
Just to be flooded , careful or careless.

How can you define , what is Providence ?
It's Supremacy in your soul to stay.
On Moral Values , carry Reverence.
Ways of Providence will be shown, I say.

Premium Member Childhood Affects Adulthood

Parents mold their children just like a pan to a cake
How ever you're instructed gives your life it's shape
What you're taught as a child you will never forget
Understanding the morals of others...
You will have a fit
Down from your failures to your major accomplishments
Learning responsibility on a job to timely paying your rent
Clueless that your parents were preparing you for life
Now you thank them for teaching you what is right
Times that you felt that they were being hard on you
They we're preparing you to always know what to do
Good thing as parents they didn't slack on the job
Raising you to turn into the most laziest slob
The decisions you make reflects off your childhood
Parents are aware that childhood affects adulthood

At American Family Field

We used to be huge baseball fans
(The Yankees, but, of course!)
And followed all their games and cheered
Until our throats were hoarse.

Our fervor somehow waned and now
We couldn’t even name
The players on the team, although
We still enjoy the game.

While visiting Milwaukee,
We learned there would be a match
Of the Brewers and the Pittsburgh Pirates
Which we (pun!) could catch.

The Pirates pitcher, we found out,
Had quite an arm to wield,
So my husband got us tickets
And we headed to the field.

Their ballpark is a beauty
And we joined in with the crowd
Rooting for their favorite Brewers
As instructed – very loud!

At inning six, a race is held;
Five “sausages” compete.
The winner was Chorizo,
Bratwurst,* sadly, in defeat.

The final score was 4-2,
The Brewers with the prize,
The Pirate pitcher taken out,
Which was a big surprise.

Despite not being N.L.**fans,
We had a lot of fun,
For certain sayings hit the mark
And “When in Rome…” is one.

*The others include Hot Dog, Italian and Polish
**National League

Even Slums Have Parks

I walked as a grey kid
lost in his own hometown streets.

When my slow mind
began to see more clearly
it saw brick dusted air
and a sunlight blotched with yesterday's scabs.

There were small parks in that part of the city,
where the shabby slept and fornicated,
a wilted grass
was dotted with used condoms
and patchworked with dog urine.

We thought it fine
to explore those sleazy acres
parents behind us, we running ahead.
as if we were discovering paradise.
The clouds would give way,
and a light fell upon this new world of ours
as if newly painted.
For a while, we kids saw each other as
playmates and not intractable rivals.

Later, back in the crowded reek
of the crumbling tenements,
we grew soul-blind once more.

We hoped that the God
we had been instructed to love
occasionally watched over us,
that perhaps once a week
He checked us all out,
from the far side of a city park.

Sorrento back beach

2025.3.15

Today, I visited Sorrento back Beach.
Swam only for five minutes.
Both the swell and the current
Were too high and too strong for me.
Fortunately, the Lifeguard Mason,
Assisted me to get down to the ocean,
Where the waves were less violent.
I held onto his yellow rescue board,
Under my armbit, as he instructed.
When the perfect moment arrived,
Mason asked me to flow and then to dive,
I managed to swim butterfly style.
Mason curious raised a question
If I could do other swim fashion
He was quite amaze when I said
I could do all the swim techniques.
I had a fantastic time today
First time swam in such big waves
With the assistance by the Lifeguard Mason
From the Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club.
I sincerely thank Mason and his Life guard team.
I felt privileged and being blessed to have
Such a wonderful day trip to swimming.
I wished my friend was here with me,
To capture on video or photos
All the fun and new swimming experience.

Premium Member A Dog Shares His Perspective

as my dog and i were on a walk
he said
we have to have a talk
about the way we are constructed
it was then
that he instructed
when you say
top to bottom
about things that we've both got 'em
what you mean is front to back
i'll admit
i was taken aback.
he said
just as night follows day
when you open your mouth
to say
back to front
in a kind of flip-flop
what you mean
is
bottom to top
he barked i believe our walk's complete
can i now have my doggy treat

AI and the future

AI and the future

We are invited to spot the difference between
a real woman dancing and an AI version, no
we can't, does it matter?
The AI will forever be what it was trained to do
in this case, dancing, she will not develop, fall in
and have children
You can put her in a box for a time, start her up
she will dance and look stunning, but she will
not know how to mop a floor
This musing might sound innocent but think
what would happen if we trained AI soldiers
who followed and instructed to kill the enemy
those who bleed blood
AI "its" can replace the workforce's long hours
in routine jobs 24 hours, they don't care does
what the chip tells us to do.
They can mass produce cars no one can
afford to buy enforced idleness leads to a riot
kill the chip makers today
A  sudden plague will whip out millions
the human survivors will hide in forests and plot
how to beat those who have no soul
If you think this far-fetched look at Japan
a shrinking population, their women  always
look beautiful but bear no children

RICEPUBLIC

Tell them we are working hard
They will soon afford to buy rice
Show them our graphic evidence
Of rice pyramids. We are self-sufficient.

When they complain of hardship
Give them rice!

When there is rising unemployment
Add some more rice, I say
There's plenty of cassava too to eat.

If they plan to protest
And the workers want to strike
Pacify them with mudus of rice, right away
I know my people, they will shelve it.

All subsidies are gone forever
Taxes all around have come to stay
And when those rabble begin to grumble
Let the Custom open their stores
Of foreign rice to them. It tastes good!

My people are understanding
I have instructed them to tighten their belts
But if they questioned my extravagance
Give them state-sponsored rice
Sold at a subsidized rate.
Let them know we are truly empathic.

Not our fault about climate change
God knows why! We inherited banditry
Herders-farmers' clash, from our predecessors
But be assured when disaster strikes
Our response shall be swift
To distribute rice in camps of the IDPs!

IT’S YOUR NAME

With nothing, I pride myself as Olakunle,
Who makes moves,
Overcome challenges and kore Dele.

Truly, Oluwanifemi
Even death whispers; Ikukoyi.

The future is secured, for the gods have Tiresimi
And instructed the angels to Mayowa
Ki oro mi le Dayo.

The heavens smile upon us;
We are established
And Ayo wa Tobi.

Oh; let’s enjoy our companionship
By neglecting our differences and Dolapo.

Life is full of mysteries and surprises
But we shall Durojaiye and Jokotola.

an American dream

an American Dream

An American election is important for the world
right now, I see a dilemma on the one hand
we have Trump, who is too old, power once
in his hands, the bullet missed and struck hard
confidence is not cock sure his grip has loosened
Yet, his meeting with mortality might make him
a great president
The universal hatred the political class has for
Trump makes me suspicious of them, I think,
is because they fear he is a loose cannon that can
fire their way, exposing their corruption, their
lies to the people, one has to remember the USA's
politic is run and often won by those with cash
There is Kamala Harris, who plays the black card
to garner votes, but she is a person no one knows
anything about except her blind loyalty to Biden
was more important than loyalty to the USA
I think she was chosen because she has no political conviction
 an empty vessel that can
Burp up what she has been instructed to do
smile and laugh while dark forces are changing
America into a socialist darkness, killing the once
powerful anglophile hegemony

Engagement Pics

Sometimes on my morning walk,
When no one is around,
I’ll pass by a photographer
And know that I am bound

To see a dressed-up couple,
Posed and smiling, thinking of
The lovely pics to show to all
To prove their new-found love.

With the river in the background,
It’s a lovely urban scene,
But today had something added,
Not the usual routine.

For the couple was instructed
To run straight, as they did do,
To the spot upon the promenade
Where pigeons strut and coo.

The startled birds all lifted up
And circled in the air
As the camera person snapped away,
The pigeons everywhere.

The happy couple laughed,
Then all the birds flew down to roost,
For some New York flair into those pics
They’d surely introduced.

BORN TO WIN

Born to win they all screams, as their teacher instructed

Recite the school motto, right in the assembly ground!

Assembled motionlessly after giving a breathtaking speech

You gotta work hard to breakthrough she holler

Working hard is an old race They howled...

Raise the new generation to work Smart and intelligence

We are not ordinary person, saying no to medoicre spirits

We are destined for greatness, knowledge our wings

No venture no success, she yell

Yeah striving is the old race buildt from war we cried

Raise the new generation to Thrive in grace

It's buildt from love and respect

We are born to win, winning together in unity

Not born to rule over another with presumptuousness

In apartheid, parted Furiously disorder

The older race left us with condemnation and victim mentality

Judging, Crucifying and not taking responsibility for our actions

We are born to win, resolution is our objective

You can become whatever you want she shouted

If we put our minds to it, We all YELP.

Blinking cursors

The life of a cursor is not an easy one.
It could turn into any shape depending the command of the user but
Sometimes it decides to take matters into it's own hands and to do as it pleases and refuses to work
In the end it is only an artificial intelligence
With an end of life undecided.
Our life as compared to the cursor is full of vitality.
We do things on whim depending on our mood
We do things as instructed because we've got no choice than to obey
Sometimes we decide to go our own way ;
Different from what we are supposed to do
In the end we have a limit
We are no robots
Why then do we stress ourselves out and not enjoy life?
Life without some flexibility and happiness
Is like the life of a blinking cursor on the computer screen
Dull and without vitality.
