Premium MemberPoetry's Mad

     a towel released cross
       a sheepish floor
     lizards grin at
       what they adore

     time stands still
       feet replace hands
     only the robots
       shall understand

     of nameless deaths
       blind men sing
     harmonizing
       on apron strings

     do racecars whir
       around the track
     as icecaps melt
       like pancakes stacked

     poetry's mad
       it’s plainly seen
     watching huskies howl
       ~ the moon doth preen

With God on Their Side

when two teams collide
Huskies will win with great pride
with God on their side

Joan Baez sang this great song.
Will never forget it

Premium MemberWhat I Found In My Refrigerator

A Ziplock bag of cut-up hot dogs, treats for my daughter's Huskies
Two gallon jugs of 1% milk, both nearly empty
Three bottles of dressing, ranch from 2007
Leftover spinach salad that looks a bit ashen
Syrup: chocolate, blueberry, and pancake
Raisins and nuts for our Christmas fruitcake
Yesterday's dessert- Apple Brown Betty
Cold, cooked spaghetti
Five types of cheese: cottage, American, cheddar, Swiss and cream
Boiled eggs and beer brats- a Friday night dream!

Premium MemberA Caring Heart

Our love for Huskies, led us to meet.
Maybe it was meant to be.
After our own kind of meet and greet,
There was a connection, between you and me.

The more that I got to know you,
I knew that I had found a friend.
Someone who was honest and true.
Firm in your beliefs, but you can also bend.

You are giving, with a caring heart.
Sensitive, you acknowledge that fact.
You can cope without falling apart.
You are you, without putting on an act.

We talk about so many things.
You don't hold anything back.
Your experience and wisdom brings,
good advice, something you never lack.

Our friendship, has become part of me.
It has grown stronger over time.
I hope that you are able to see.
I am grateful that you are a friend of mine.

With love, I write these words for you,
They are sincere, and from within.
Sometimes unspoken, but nevertheless true.
What a wonderful friend you have been.

Premium MemberCock-A-Doodle-Dont

So, would you tell me Sir, what can’t a labradoodle do
You’ll never hear a labradoodle Cock-a-doodle-do
Neither will a wallaby or skippy kangaroo
Nor anything not chicken, and not a cockatoo

Huskies and Alsatians, they don’t figure in equations
You’ll never see them mouthing off at the United Nations
Or acting as the acting head of covert operations
Though they might do a better job if aided by Dalmatians

So why is it that all the news, whichever news you view
Shows Downing Street or Washington without further ado
Where some bloke with a flag behind him speaks at me and you
But when I listen all I hear is Cock-a-doodle-do

Premium MemberSpirited Gifts

Reindeer racks, huffing and chuffing - smokestacks
longing, like huskies, to run with shining
                  red sleigh. Commercials over, indicates
to Nick, in his hip black and red plaid, matching
fur-rimmed hat, pom-pom and whiskers, “Let’s go!”

Colorado Reinbeer to the rescue. The swagger
and lift of spirited gifts to neighbors.
Santa moves with the covid times, to cheer
up the down in the mouth, even the kids
with suds of their own - root or birch beer floats.

Sleigh bells and holiday harnesses play
in the steep mountain snow with “Ho! ho! ho!”

                                                     11/28/2020

Loosely based on a segment I saw on the news.

Pirates, witches, dragons, castles, mats and bats,
Broomstick divas, a Dracula wearing red flats,
Huskies, and spider monkeys joining soulful frats,
Raccoons, starfish, butterflies, a skull that chats
My imagination gives me enormous congrats
As we pencil out another painting of rat wearing hats

Premium MemberPuppies Swim With Guppies-

Nothing but puppies;
Swam with the guppies;
Hang out cause their buddies,
When they get out of the pool yukky
Smelly are the fur biddies,
And those floppies, kitties, putties, putty, puffy, bunnies,
Eaten all the yuppy gummies,
While those piggies huskies tummy’s are muddy
Biddies, buddy, buggies, bunny, butties, copies, cubbies, cuppy, druggies, Duckies, fluffy, funny, fuzzy,
Guppies, hungry for honey,

Performance Deteriorated

Watching Rose Bowl and Horrible Huskies

Performance Has Deteriorated

While we had waited and waited,
Performance sadly deteriorated,
Takles are missing,
And death kissing,
And opposers gladly celebrated.

Premium MemberIf All My Wishes Came True

If all my wishes came true I would be driving a fire truck around town, blowing the sirens.
I would save people’s lives, stop child abuse, and build up bullies, so they could love themselves.

If all my wishes came true, I would live with two hundred and twelve dogs, mostly huskies.
And build a cat tower from here to heaven, so the heaven cats and the earth cats could play together.

If all my wishes came true I would build creative centers in the worst places in the cities,
And the people would come and eat pizza for free, and create masterpieces with their laughing children.

If all my wishes came true, everyone would have a house, clothes, and a lovely marigold-filled garden.
In every country in every universe there would be hope, resiliency, love, kindness, and synergy.

The world would be such a delightful place to live, there would be zero suicides and zero homicides.
The policemen would be around though, so they could wear their badges, and run community gardens.

If all my wishes came true, the world would be such a wonderful place to be, that heaven would smile.
If all my wishes came true, your wishes would also come true, and your neighbors, and mine.

Premium MemberGoodbyes

Ears pricked at car door closing in the street,
and focussed on the footsteps through the gate
she stepped into the hall, unsteady feet
they bounded forward, welcome couldn't wait.
Two forty pounds of fur, and sixteen legs,
four eager snouts and tongues shot through the air
her hands held up fruitlessly as she begged,
they brought her down, smothered her face and hair.
A canine/human ball rolled on the floor
propelled by laughter, barks and sudden shrieks
of love and longing, bottled up before
the time has come to leave, and no-one speaks.
Chorus of barking, followed by the whines
the front door closing for the final time.

R.i.P Angela Miles, passed away today but was allowed home
to see her Huskies last week for a couple of hours.
