You walk in hoping for solace or a smile,
instead you’re ostracized by iconoclasts.
Oh what irony!
Becoming what you profess to be against,
don’t you see what a joke that is?
Now we’re overrun with hypocrites.

Safe spaces aren’t so free,
they’re not open to all who enter;

Copying a cadence shouting their beliefs,
rhetoric gets you in the ‘In’ crowd.
Somewhere art’s been left to flounder,
shy behind all their shallow noise.
No desire to speak,
that’s been tried before.
Can’t open up when the response
is so utterly phony.

Safe spaces aren’t so free,
they’re not open to all who enter;

You’re not backed up when you’re gone.
Don’t think you’re exempt from their rules.
Only truly welcome with a cave-ate,
be a catalyst for their agenda.
God forbid you hold your own opinion
perhaps it’s better to remain exposed.

Safe spaces aren’t so free,
they’re not open to all who enter.

Premium Member A WILL TO SURVIVE

Unbelievable, unthinkable, unimaginable,
have lost everything, all gone, now homeless...
are you willing to risk it all, are you strong enough to lead,
running out of food whom will feed you, in shock, now hopeless

stranded, how then will you send for a rescue one day
have you a bag of tricks, skills to hold your own, stable
while you wait in hope, for word a rescue is underway
stressed, unsuspecting what will happen, unpredictable

good physical condition, is pure psychological
strong enough to rebuild, my world eschatology
yet still you have mustard skills to survive all,
you find a safe place, waiting, is leading you blind

finding your way there, where is safe now
            finding your way back...
all is up in dah air, this just is'nt fair some how...
History will record, as a matter of fact

that you did at last reach out to your Church..
for a hand-up with your heart a smart place to search
write a little Poem book from your heart
to make MONEY this is where you start

Light In Darkness:Symphony of Spirit

When the mighty asteroid of tragedy struck,
Razed your spirits to ground.
 Who helped you rebound?
When the night of despair was pitch black ,
What made your spirit bounce-back?
When the flame of hope was smothered
And darkness was abound,
What made u hold your ground?
When the expectations were slowly dying
Who set the bird of hope flying?
 No,it wasn't an unknown being.
It wasn't an unheard voice.
The strenghthful soul you always see in the mirror
That mighty believer and an all time winner.
When the world walks away, you'll be left on your own.
To wipe your own tears,
Hold your own hand and face your fears.
The victors fight with the strength of their soul .
Mighty sailors are led by their inner voice.
Battling for glory is your own choice
With strengthful soul and self-belief, you'll rise and never dwell.
Ascend to the throne of glory and excel..

Premium Member You're My Comfort

My daddy is in the military.
Every day he fights some very bad guys.
He says what he does can be quite scary,
But things get easier as time goes by.

He writes me letters almost every week,
And tells me about the places he’s been.
When I think about him, my knees get weak.
I can’t wait for him to come home again.

I know other kids have lost someone close,
Maybe an aunt, an uncle, a mom, or a dad.
Don’t be upset about the job you chose.
Be proud of who you are…be very glad.

You are the ones that help me sleep at night,
By protecting the people I hold dear.
It’s children like me for whom you all fight.
Someday soon you’ll hold your own kids near.

Premium Member Dusk

So many seek you by the light of the dawn only to lose you through the haze of dusk
You are mysterious at times a silent secret in the navel of mans thoughts, a deviance
a variate inside the doors of the conscience far remote when peppered with denial
you want to be sought after like love agape,
so many seek you by the light of the dawn, only to lose you to the heady scent of musk
you are like a fine cut diamond in the raw, if I press you to a mirror you break the image
you save, you redeem, you make deer sleep, you see a sinner and turn him into snow
Palpable like the studded stars of heaven every filament of your grace, is a hot burner
You show up at the most inconvenient times and sometimes the most timely ones too
So many seek you by the light of the dawn but you being truth, always come as you are,
clear faced and bold, you hold your own
So many seek you by the light of the dawn only to lose you through the haze of dusk
you are mysterious, at times a silent secret in the navel of a womans thoughts , deviant.

No Problems

If you've noticed there's no problems,
the government has too.
There's a billion cars poluting
and a mask to put on new.

There's a tax upon your property
for nothing they might do.
And a pox upon your neighbourhood
the cops will card at you.

There's a billion kitchens rinsing
what the government calls trash.
Where the people doing the rinsing
pay the bill of their own cash.

And a group of food been modified
they pass off as organic.
With no label to say otherwise
and keep us guessing frantic.

And a thousand private food banks
telling government we're poor.
When a wealthy funded welfare
should exist for our tenure.

Making several billion dollars
from a loan invested gold.
On a mint who's plates are rendered
for a government to hold.

Where the deed to our own dollars
are a travesty of old.
And the breech of our own value
for the talismen's last fold.

Where no food's upon the table
and the market sold to one.
That the note to one another-
"Hold your own until you're done".

Premium Member A Stoic Sentinel

A stoic sentinal midst waves,
you staunchly stand erect and tall.
Emerged in frothy, churning white,
you hold your own in nature’s squall.

Atop, your beacon light shines bright
to let the mariners know well,
there is a guardian at sea
that can be seen above the swell.

How stoic now you bravely stand,
against the terror of this storm.
Your eyes look out with searching beams
for those caught in the sea, forlorn.

What glory when your light is seen
above the mountains of white waves.
Salvation in your light of red
denies the sea more mortal graves.

This We'Ll Defend

Your not sure how you got to this point
You said it was pride
took the pen into your hand
signed that dotted line
Before your on your own two feet and stand
they say they can make you a man
In war the score is yours, was that the plan?
Keep your head up son, I'm sure you can

They say that freedom ain't free
Is that why every year I see
The young and the dreamy
impassioned by drill Sergeants screaming
This is life boy, give your life boy
just so arrogant people play life like a toy
ready to be deployed so someone else can enjoy?

This is not me, but written in blood for family
Never thought it would hit home directly
But you never know what you hold or what you got
until the trigger is pulled, guns shot
When the smoke clears
Best hope you reside
Hold your own, no fear
This is just stop one on a very large ride

Returning home and everything stayed the same
funny how one experience in life
everything in your eyes feels changed
but that's the knife or rather ripple
in reality and the dream we are instilled
while your smiling at home
someone's protecting you under their own will

Pains Aside

What a bunch of brokens are we
Broken from the things we've seen
Who we are and who we've been
Whether frail or plump or lean
Pains aside, look around you
At the people you hear and see
Those you know and the strangers
Now look right here upon me
You may see what I've been doing
But hardly what I've done
You may think you know who I am
But you only see in the sun
Look in the shadows what's hiding
Everyone has their past
Their nightmares & mistakes together
Create a work that, with fear, can last
What a dark side each brother here
And each woman doth possess
Every soul upon this earth
Will have their fair share of distress
Cast the pain aside you
You're no more broken than he
And hold your own, standing tall
No longer broken you'll be

Not Alone

When the weight of the world way heavy on your shoulders
Remember your not alone your not the first to brake the rules
We learn as life goes on if you do a crime you must do the time
Find your self with in your heart your not that person you see
In the reflection on the wall
We sometimes fall weak to matters of the heart
don’t give in don’t lose your self your much more
Then what you think
Your not alone so hold your own
This is just a bump on the road
You were not supposed to be on
Your heart is pure and true
Your mind was a little confused
From all the things that has been eating at you
You tried on your own to fix the broken with in you
With the results been
Remember your not alone
Look seek knock
He is there he is here he is every wear
Put your faith in him that knows you
Like no one else dose
His love will wrap you tight and keep
You safe he is telling you
Your not alone

Random Pursuits

Deft entanglements are sailing by,
 some firmly rooted-
others like whispers in the wind.
Overshadowed by some thing more desperate than your needs;
We walk unhurriedly throughout the busy city streets.
Anxious to compensate your losses-
you stumble as you reach for more.
Leaving the shores for that ravenous tide,
you unhook your moorings and you cast your fate.
Don’t hold on too tight;
Don’t be so attached to this world.
Screams of the criminally neglected will always fill your ears.
How they resonate within is not for them to decide.
 Make your choices,
 stumble with grace.
Learn how to walk gently amongst great rubble,
and firmly over that which tries to drift beneath your step.
Random pursuits often carry great reward,
And the most careful of plans will seldom hold your own weight.
Darling, let the deft entanglements sail right by,
and take your ship to your mind’s own engagements.

Iron Will

The great poets of past,
The song writers of old,
Shall turn in their graves,
At a message so bold.

Your human mind,
Is all you control.
The deeds of your body,
The scares on your soul.

No matter the weight,
No matter the pressure,
If it is your life,
Saying no is your pleasure.

Your mind is yours,
And always to be.
It shouldn't be swayed,
Not even by me.

If fortitude is your only gift,
Ne'er from that path should you ever shift.

This gift I give,
If this gift you bring,
For as a puppet in life,
You must hold your own string.

So Small

i used to feel so big and so tall
i could fit the whole wide world in the middle of my palm

i was never so simple, or tossed aside.
i was happy and i felt alive

i feel so small and so cold
when i'm with you,
that world swallows me whole.

and i hold my son and cry
We used to be in love
i used to be soo big
i swear i could fly

And i tell my tiny son, your so big
You hold your own future in your tiny hands

your unstobable
a lesson to be learned don't ever settle for comfortable

Be You

pull off the sheets, throw an old tshrit on , slam the front door , time for a new day .smile for the camera , doesn't matter if its fake . or if your life is a mistake .walk down the street , fall flat on your face .pick your self back up . time for a retry.watch as they walk by ,you act all shy .talk in your head , dont let them hear what you said .close you eyes , make a wish , just the feel of those lips .hold your own hand , as you walk through the sand . alone. no sounds , just peace .i wish it would last , but its all your just in my head . i allow all the words that you said , to dance all around my body like music , why do they hurt .your words are not needles yet send pain through my skin .reach for your hand , when you are no where near .sit on the edge of the rock , watch the tide pull back .what do i lack ?stand tall , the wind will blow . stand your ground be very proud.the sky will stay blue ,the clouds will alway move .but you , will you always be you ?
