Random Pursuits
Deft entanglements are sailing by,
some firmly rooted-
others like whispers in the wind.
Overshadowed by some thing more desperate than your needs;
We walk unhurriedly throughout the busy city streets.
Anxious to compensate your losses-
you stumble as you reach for more.
Leaving the shores for that ravenous tide,
you unhook your moorings and you cast your fate.
Don’t hold on too tight;
Don’t be so attached to this world.
Screams of the criminally neglected will always fill your ears.
How they resonate within is not for them to decide.
Make your choices,
stumble with grace.
Learn how to walk gently amongst great rubble,
and firmly over that which tries to drift beneath your step.
Random pursuits often carry great reward,
And the most careful of plans will seldom hold your own weight.
Darling, let the deft entanglements sail right by,
and take your ship to your mind’s own engagements.
