You're My Comfort
My daddy is in the military.
Every day he fights some very bad guys.
He says what he does can be quite scary,
But things get easier as time goes by.
He writes me letters almost every week,
And tells me about the places he’s been.
When I think about him, my knees get weak.
I can’t wait for him to come home again.
I know other kids have lost someone close,
Maybe an aunt, an uncle, a mom, or a dad.
Don’t be upset about the job you chose.
Be proud of who you are…be very glad.
You are the ones that help me sleep at night,
By protecting the people I hold dear.
It’s children like me for whom you all fight.
Someday soon you’ll hold your own kids near.
