Peace In Our Time

It is what it is
and no mistaking
which no one can deny
by hiding or faking
but if we can
all agree to disagree
and let it be
one day things may
turn out favourably
but the situation currently
is not quite right
in fact it's completely
out of hand
around the world
throughout the land
an act of God is not enough
more than a miracle
is needed
for all mankind

In the space a forgotten person is left to entertain
The remainder of civilization has been acquired 
The unfinished civilized area per "your" affront, complaint, insult

Creating colony
Demanding colonization by war

The financial crimes which capture attention are all in time.

I hang on hiding pain in heart

Pain held in heart I’m hanging on,
Amidst life’s grave gloom, going on.

World vicarious watch as if fun,
From cracked mirror I’m peeping on.

Smoke billows from my burning heart,
I battle but it’s blazing on.

How self-seeking can be this world!
Friends as foes askance looking on.

My woes are out to wear me out,
Though hurt my heart keeps humming on.	

Where is God hiding

as does God
our Self too dwells 
in the cave of the heart 

first find the Self
beyond space-time
then God too is seen

God is within Self
Self is within God 
open heart’s eye to know

Out of Sight, Out of Mind

I hear a vocal command,
"Get out from under that bed!"
They'd put a lock on the closet;
I had few places left to go.
Remembering childhood fears
and the maple tree where I’m
out of their mind behind the garage.

Hiding the Light

A lot has been happening in my life recently
And that’s a good thing considering
How staid and stodgy I’ve become
In old age.

But it’s still a challenge
And as one unexpected hurdle after another
Comes up, as always will,
I’m reminded, from some place deep in my past,
Perhaps best called my gut,
That now is

I fold myself into smiles I don’t feel, like paper carefully hiding the truth

I nod in conversations as if I’m truly listening, but in reality,
I’m just trying to remember what it was like to breathe without apologizing for every breath.

Hiding In Silence

Following night's tenebrous sheen
on this aging lake-
humped seashells drifted on aimlessly;
I Iaid  forlorn by an old palm tree 
needing to connect with anyone, anyone
until turbulent waves slapped my face..

How bitter this stab of aloneness
....gripping the hidden lament without relief
and eve's naked rays were gone

Where is God hiding

The light of Self, which we may call God’s spark,
is wherefrom arises creative will,
that as soul ascends on an upward arc,
voids in our heart in timeless time then fill,
in time stretched stillness when presence is still.
God dwells in the cave of our glowing heart,
so that’s where oh hermit, our search should start.

Hiding Alone

   I always wanted my own dog.
   Someone to sit under the table with me.
   Fuzzy warm animal to hug,
   When too much shouting from above.

   "You can't have a dog!
   Too many fleas,
    Ticks you may not see!
 

In the Cold Embrace

She painted the silence between stars, 
 Colors blooming where sorrow hides, 
 Each stroke a whisper, each canvas wide 
 With dreams that leapt beyond her scars. 

Younger by decades, yet wise with light, 
 She’d gift you skies with a laughing tone, 
 A mountain’s hush, a prayer in stone—
