They’re constantly painting pictures of things you must believe
There is a power struggle
Like none you’ve ever seen.
The west and east are at it
The far left and the right
The colour card is flashing red
It’s time to get off pitch
This power hungry game they’re playing
Democracy is fraying
Innocents they’re slaying
The devil is the puppeteer his pulling all the strings
Yet they think they are kings.
The trumpet call is coming.
With it the mighty horn
And Gods word and promise
Will remove from Earth this thorn.
the little mice
that operate
traffic lights
recently went
on strike.
they said
it was the working
conditions,
but if we're
being honest,
I think it was
because last
year the city
banned
casual fridays.
have you ever
seen a mouse

focused news is not something hope and faith attract
I wish to embrace the lovingness of mankind
not incessant blue news stating it has declined

He was going to write his masterpiece
“The road to London” but the coach from
The airport had a blowout.
When he finally came to London, and it was
Morning and reading the headline
which asked several coaches have suffered
blowouts, could it be the Russians?
Another more sober paper said the accidents
were due to poor maintenance but that is
not a word that makes headlines.
As for the poet he didn`t like London and
never wrote anything about this great city.
“Titanic Sinks” then “The Great War Ends”,
Followed by the “Biggest Stock Crash of all Time”,
Then “World War two” and a “Nuclear Bomb”, and
“Hillary goes for a Climb”.
Then things got worse with “J.F.K. Killed” and
“I Have a Dream has Died”.
But then a good moment of “Man Walks on the Moon”,
Best headline reprinted World Wide.
This was quickly followed by “The Beatles Break Up”, and
“John Lennon is Shot in the Back”.
And music became a middle page chart with:
“My Sharona” performed by The Knack.
The internet headline took over our news with
“President Mandela is Free at Last”
Followed by “9/11 Terror Plane Strikes”,
And to the world these strikes were broadcast.
Skip a few years and this has all lead
To the scariest headline in ink.
And that is the vain, egotistical “Trump,
Taking us all to the brink”.
Our headlines tell a story from defeat to triumph,
From paper to TV to a phone.
And they’ve all told us, every day of our life,
How society, through time, hasn’t grown.
