As the V-Line Coach approached the Apollo Bay,
Along the sand line, what did I find?
The splashing waves rushed in to reach the beach.
The scent of the trees and plants,
Triggered some ideas in my brain.
I planned to throw your book into the sea,
Let the salty water washed all your printed words.
Hopefully, it also cleaned your soul and sins,
Changed you into a better person,
Who would have some considerations,
And be kind and nice to others,
Treat others as you would like to be treated.
I learned an important lesson today.

Yes, because doing what others like
Always results in disappointment.
I do what I believe in.

Well. I did what I felt like
And it also resulted in disappointment.
I once had a friend, Elmer Fudder
Who had an obsession with butter
Could not tell bull from cow
But he soon found out how
Milking what he thought ... was an udder!

I can’t go where you go,
cause you’re so damn nouveau,
you keep looking for the next wave
while I stand on the shore and watch ‘em break.
You won’t hear what I say,
think I’m so damned passé,
keep believing your cutting edge
cause every day you wake up in a new bed.
Time keeps on flying by,
lines form around your eyes,
all the 'new rules' you know so well
keep you forever riding that carousel.
The day comes you’re not so hot,
they cast you aside to rot,
old bio clock’s almost out of ticks
and they don’t want 'girls' at thirty-six.
You show up at my door,
thinking I can give you more,
answered by a boy with my face
did you really think that I would sit and wait?
No.
