Yes!
Heartfelt
craftsmanship
keeps me happy.
Besides oil painting
composing good poems-
sewing kids' hooded towels
embellished with jazzy ribbon
offers me a reward as they smile!
Kids staring each other down
Vying for that last piece of pie
Truce: they’re going to share

Instead of acting like you’re in mourning
With a smiling face, just say good morning
Instead of walking around with a frown
Just be happy without being a clown
Kids don’t need for your tales to be gory
Why not share with them, a funny story
No need to go on about your ex-wife
Say something humorous about your life
To break the ice so that others will laugh
This morning, I woke up, clothed in the bath
"Easter is on the way. Cute and soft bunnies are what little kids are dreaming about." Quote By Poet
My best friend is my honey bunny,
oh how we love to eat a pot of honey.
On a bright day that is sunny,
we will laugh until we have a full tummy.
You are so fun and cute,
even when we eat our fresh fruit.
For Easter I will dress you in a suit,
then to church we will be en route.
Merry Christmas,
and happy new year!
Kids are getting their wish
on a day they can’t miss.
The snow is Knee-deep,
And schools are closed this week!
We all know how life goes,
snowplowing should be
Left to the pros.
Blessed with a change
of luck today,
The homeless find
a warm place to stay.
People playing in the snow
Having a good time.
Snows falling and
the weathers fine.
A Christmas party
on every block.
People pray, and are thankful
around the clock.
Stores and restaurants
are closed,
As a lovers pick their moment
to propose.
Everybody can see
The lights decorating
the Christmas tree.
Gift giving with love ones,
Trying not to shed any tears
Sharing our hopes for the new year.
Merry Christmas to all
And to all a happy new year.
Summer is a cricket's chirp,
the croak of a bullfrog's burp,
and a sweet nightingale's twirp.
A season beyond compare:
wildlife thriving everywhere,
as flowers perfume the air.
The whoosh of a flyswatter;
swimming pools of cool water:
and warm days, getting hotter.
The neighborhood kids at play,
outside till night claims the day:
and the stars are on display.
An abundance of daylight;
an itchy mosquito bite:
and a fledgling bird's first flight.
A time of love and romance:
opening your heart to chance,
and dancing a moonlit dance.
Happy Easter to everyone on Poetry Soup
(except those of you not in the 'Christian group')
I hope that you all enjoy the holiday
and that the Easter Bunny comes your kids' way
Of course, there's a lot more to Easter than bunnies and bonnets
but I'll 'Pass Over' that ~ let theologians ruminate on it

Learning Waltzing Matilda, I instantly knew
Australia was the place for me
I'd live like a swagman with my pet kangaroo
and play under the shade of a Coolibah tree
It was Christmas there in the summer—Cool!
So, I'd greet Santa surfing into the bay
and kids never had to go to school
I'd just swim and play baseball all day!
What am I doing here at seven?
when lucky kids live in an Australian heaven?

My back is hurting and my knees are shot
I hate the stairs and can’t get up from a squat
I’ve got arthritis and my vision’s blurred
I have one drink and my speech gets slurred
My kids are grown and my youth is gone
My bladder is full long before dawn
I peed twice last night, it was not a thrill
I wake up every morning to a handful of pills
It’s been half a century and it’s gone by fast
I now pray for my hips and faculties to last
My hair has turned grey and old I am
I can no longer hear worth a tinker’s dam
My golden years are now coming into view
I’ve lost some of my teeth and it’s a struggle to chew
My prostate is enlarged and it’s getting tough to pee
Another year of torture, Happy Birthday to me
Before the war we did not know of evil.
We did not understand meanness or death.
Before the war we were kids, children, happy.
As we were snapped up and shaken, things changed.
We became different people now.
More suspicious, more wary, more afraid.
We became a tiny bit cynical, angry, confused.
War is made by the rich to hurt the poor.
We had not even realized we were poor
until the war came.
The issue of kids' education
is tearing apart our nation
Time for a 'Green Revolution'
So here's a two-step solution:
One, public schools' dissolution
Two, replace schools with camp
Happy kids learning useful skills
~ A welcome revamp
Each summer we head down to the beach
how happily all our young children play.
Whilst gulls overhead squawk and screech
tiny toes paddle in cool waves in the bay.
You’ll buy us ice creams the kids beseech -
Let’s see if I’ve got enough money to pay!

Oh no…
Where’s the …?
The kids are here,
unexpectedly.
Why don’t they call?
Give us a little warning.
We can not party at all,
they are always checking up,
and watchful.
How mean.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."
Nothing could be further from the truth … Words can really hurt
My new 5 year granddaughter birthday is today Halloween day.
