Notes About The Poem

Happy Holidays

Each summer we head down to the beach how happily all our young children play. Whilst gulls overhead squawk and screech tiny toes paddle in cool waves in the bay. You’ll buy us ice creams the kids beseech - Let’s see if I’ve got enough money to pay! Each Letter Threads The Verse Poetry Contest Sponsored by Joseph May 04/21/20

Jan, this was fun and endearing and lifted my spirits. Living in a beach town, I have many happy memories of going as a kid, and bringing my own kids as they grew up. Love it! Congrats on your win, dear friend.

A fun poem for a somber time in our lives, we need to laugh away or fears and think positive thoughts like a day at the beach this time next year - that would be awesome. Who would ever think that during ours and our children's lives, we would live through a pandemic, sometimes hard to grasp until you hear the news at night and all the very sad deaths, Good luck in the contest mu friend, A brilliant and cute poem. Blessings, Jennifer.

One person quickly infected 27 family members and colleagues in Hawai'i, so another month - or more - must pass before people can go to the beach again. If everyone behaved as if they were the carrier, we would all be able to go to the beach today! Aloha! Rico

Oh such wonderful memories in your rhyming verse, Jan. This is a fun format. Your poem took me on a virtual trip to the beach - looking forward to seaside adventures this summer - maybe getting some fun tan lines though. Hope all is well with the bridge up! Stay well. Good luck in the contest.

thanks Sam, yes it would be lovely to see the beach crowded but its not going to happen for the forseeable future:-( we have had 9 deaths, sadly 5 in one care home which is so tragic as many there are infected s the number will rise. all well with us, hope you are fine too:-) hugs Jan xx

you are right Tom our local beach is deserted except for the odd person walking their dog. Our own version of 'captain Tom' has raised just over £9000 it wont get to the dizzy heights of Captain Tom but its a wonderful achievement:-) hugs Jan xx
