Groupies Poems | Examples

Premium Member beautiful modern hippie

She knows her own heart, wears it well, shows it off.
People want to be with her, she has groupies.
They cannot wait to see her, every year, at the festival.
She is the pretty one with a flowered headband.

She creates while others merely chat.
Her tools are busy, as she develops new products.
A Gemini, she is always busy, never still.
Her smile is a delight, her laugh infectious as the sun.

We do not know her name, it is not important.
She is fun to watch, many come to do just that.
She makes the festival seem worthwhile.
Many buy one item from her each year.

She is always delighted when people buy her things.
Pieces of her soul she has put together in wreaths,
Dream catchers, vases, wind chimes and such
She is a beautiful, modern, lovely, kind hippie

Premium Member bowling bunnies

Bowling bunnies sit in the booth
Sharing boyfriend stories
Oohing and ahhing when there is a strike or a spare.
Flashing their painted pointed three-inch nails
They wear ripped out jeans with high heels
Dressing more like hookers than hookers
No ugly numbered bowling shoes for them.
They are like rock and roll groupies
Except louder, so they can be heard above the pins.

For Real

Here we go again... judgements,
Aren't you sick of going on other people's assumptions,
Hasn't it clicked, didn't you see?,
The groupies that just wanted to fit in the scene,
They didn't really care, they were about their own recognition,
They ran around mimicking you for their own adoration,
I stepped away from the ignorance, and just sat there and watched,
And shook my head in silence because it was just too much,
There was no realness, no honesty there so how could I even speak,
And I remained silent until I had to eventually leave,
And of course it hurt me but what could I do,
There was no way in that place I could have HONESTLY met YOU.

Blessed Quietude

Audibly
  we rise
and fall

But Silence ...
is the language
 of God

(Dreamsleep: June, 2024)

Lost In Place

The past
is never where you left it
Tomorrow
— delegitimizes today

(Dreamsleep: June, 2024)

Groupies

Liking ...
 sometimes better
 than loving

(Keith Richards: June, 2024)

First Step

Standing at the crossroads
and knowing that you’re there
Going left or going right
coin toss or a dare
Pushed by fate determined
into sorrow, joy, or pain
First step taken tells the tale
— of destiny proclaimed

Graveyard Groupies

Look out you might see them
scuttling down your street
patting the neighbour’s dog
nodding to people they meet

They lurk on hospital corridors
wearing their black shiny shoes
then scour obituary columns
for all their latest news

They follow people on stretchers
to sickbeds, funerals, and wakes
asking for extra cups of tea
turning their nose up at cake

They might just take an interest,
if you should start to feel ill
checking on your temperature
your welfare and your will

So, keep your curtains closed tonight
lock all your windows and doors
the graveyard groupies are coming
it’s you they’re looking for…

Premium Member Grand Puuuuba of the Wizards League

Grand Puuuuba of the Wizards League
With his ebony cape, often did intrigue
He wore a charm that brought in good
Strange the cat was stiff like wood

He arched his back and felines sighed
Cross eyes for sure! A troll-monger cried.
I was terrified of the Grand Puuuuba
His ambiance was scary, his temper raw.

Other feline groupies followed him from town to town.
Many were easier than paper towels, one was a clown.
But Grand Puuuuba only had crossed eyes for me.
Halloween was the night for me to flee.

Premium Member Their Mother's Real Talent

Daddy left when they were little.
He was a musician, on the road, had groupies.
Mommy had not been one of them.
She could not even clap in rhythm.

Their three daughters inherited Daddy’s genes.
They had his personality and musical talents.
Their mother stood back and watched.
Wondering if they had gotten any of her talents.

What are your talents? Her sister asked.
I can…..
Her mind went blank.
For the first time she realized

If she had talents, she did not know what they were.
Maybe she was musical.
So, she tried piano lessons.
Her fingers were too stubby.

She tried art classes.
Not for her.
How can you not know your talents mother? Her daughters asked.
Not realizing that her real talent is helping her children hone their talents.

The Lion Who Runs From a Lion

THE LION WHO RUNS FROM A LION

Born of a Lion
But raised among sheep.
Stronger than iron
But shiver like leaves in upsweep.

Boldness is one of your identities
But at the sight of your clan,
you flee in company of groupies
And scatter before God and Man.

Instead of taking your territories
As it is written from the Genesis,
You succumb to your enemies
just at the sight of their emissaries,

Not knowing the old saying of wise words:
"He who runs because he has seen the Lions
can never run faster than he who runs
because the Lions has seen him" in the woods.

Since the son of a Lion is a (lion) cub,
Then the son of God is a god.
That's the veracity you have to absorb.
Accommodate this truth in your taste bud.

Premium Member Barney Boy Aka Bull Dog Boss Hawg

Barney Boy aka bull dog boss hog has confident attitude to spare
We see him flying around on his Harley doing things we don’t dare
He drives down the roads showing off his muscles and physique
The motorcycle groupies practically faint; he is that unique.

Premium Member Beatnik Charley

Beatnik Charley had glowing fingers of soul
When they began tapping a beat, there was never a goal.
They understood people, and had them dancing around.
He had a unique way of drumming.
An incredible sound!

Beatnik Charley brought in women all over New York.
Many were vegetarians, other smelled totally of pork.
They were his groupies, loving him for being who he was.
We began his followers fast.
He was such a cool fuzz!

Premium Member Buckle-Bunny

Another pair of cowboy boots
beneath my bed
banishing dreams of
a permanent man
right out of my head

They call me a buckle-bunny
but that sets too low the bar
for at the end of the night
I take home the rodeo star

He rides wild horses
and even wilder bulls
I lap him up by the mouthfuls

Lust curls in my belly
when I spy the champion buckle
his laughter is sweet as the honeysuckle

An aging buckle-bunny is what I see
until the next cowboy smiles at me

Even, even, even,
Odd, odd, odd,
Odd, even, odd, and even odder.
Solve the riddle and give me a call.
We’ll forge ourselves a spiritual connection.
Whatever we can’t weld, we’ll solder.
If you can see the key to it all.
Even, even, even,
Odd, odd, odd,
Odd, even, odd, and even odder.

The Young Jesus

The story of the young Jesus

Jesus was sceptical of his tribe as a trainee carpenter
he was lousy, could even make a bookshelf, he was bullied for this.
Jesus took umbrage and criticized the establishment of bootlicking priests
whom the Roman occupiers had given them power?
He took to hanging out with a group of radicals of the day
and since he was good with words soon became their leaders.
The groupies, one of the Magdalene, were for the pleasure of the flesh,
although Jesus was fond of this woman, he didn´t show it openly.
Jesus got big-headed thought he could take on the establishment
like when he chased money lenders out of the church.
He was wrong!
He was arrested mocked, and given a thorn crown, but he insisted
he was the proper leader of the people.
they crucified him, but women come to the rescue, healed his wounds
and sent him and Magdalen, the despised tart, to France.
He had seven children and ended his days as a valued goldsmith.
