How
This night
Grips to hold
One vow sacred
Tinged with worth of self--
Breeze hugs me from eve's chill
Clouds now mirroring my gleam
This free reign and promise to rise
Lies precious as grail. I have a name !

Premium Member Complete Love

I think love is
the only Complete --

needing nothing else;

love of health
love of wealth (within reason)
love of loved ones
including self

in fact, all of love
could not fit on a shelf
nor a continent
even a sea

let loose, would over fill a
world out into vast outer space

with free reign would need a universe

Love's inherent capacity for infinite
caring and grace....

To boost the beauty of sonnets

Let that myth die that rhymes freedom refrain,
That, grammar a sonnet’s sweetness fetter,
That, pen’s creativity they constrain,
Nay, they add to their beauty, scarce deter.
The metre that appears to restrain,
In truth, entices a sonnet to sing,
For, where would pleasure be if there’s no pain?
To autumn’s ache owes the splendour of spring.
Strings get tuned only when chords suffer strain,
A sonnet, when goes through its tests of fire,
Ah heaven-sent blessing they all, no bane,
Rhymes boost sonnet’s spell much like temple’s spire,
Let no lyrics claim free reign of a crown,
Lest their free will pull the poesy down.

you circle each word
red, you enjoy
the correcting -
“read”

the riding crop
dropped
words race away
in your inner world

dark stallions
no bridle nor bit
bareback the beautiful
once driven, given free reign

across your cartography

no maps required
for the keeper of secrets
you know the way well now
across the sensual plains

bypassing
bad dreams
flying heavens
alongside condors and eagles

Pegasus
delivers
star of Leo
to the one holding

the bow and arrow

Sagittarius
son of Pan
and Eupheme
nursing the Muses

gently Eupheme
nurses the Muses
gently Eupheme
nurses the Keeper

Hoist With His Own Petard

He who disregards truth and justice
Will sooner or later go the whole hog;
His bestial appetites and habits,
His love of cruelty and power eventually will take over
Perhaps without him ever realizing the danger.
He is not only beyond the control of others
But beyond his own control.
He does no good ( like rainless clouds or fruitless trees,
Heaping abuse on anything he doesn't understand;
Spoiling the fellowship meals with his irreverent behavior.
He lives at the mercy of his brutish instincts,
Looking after Himself instead of caring for his brother.
Like storm, he leaves behind him shame and disgrace;
like the dirty foam left along the beach by the wild waves.
He's like stars that have wandered into outer space and give no light,
He grumbles about everything and have a huge chip on his shoulder.
He is one in reign,
A loud-mouthed show-off
Who flatters others for his own advantage
And give free reign to his evil desires.

My One Sadistic Pleasure

I derive no pleasure in hurting a fly,
Preferring to let spiders do that for me,
Or just to shoo them away.
Bug spray is only used as a last resort,
And sticky fly papers are banned at our house.

But when it comes to weeds,
I show no mercy,
Not even for the little ones,
And derive great satisfaction,
From laying waste to their domain,
Letting all that pleases the eye,
And my taste buds have free reign in their place.

My day is not complete unless I have undone the hard work of creepers,
That come out after dark,
Intent on strangling anything they can get to grips with.

With weeds I have no empathy,
With weeds I show no mercy,
With weeds I show no restraint,
And my pleasure in their demise,
Only increases when I see a daffodil,
Where once there was only weeds,
Or watch my grandson pick a strawberry,
Instead of a weed.

What Aileth Thee

WHAT AILETH THEE??

What aileth thee, my soul, that thou art sad?
Why have thine words stopped pouring out in pain?
Why doth thou from poetry now abstain?
Wherefore art thou in melancholy clad?
Thou knowest that sans words, thou wilt turn mad,
Tell me how to make thee cheery and sane ~
                                     What aileth thee?

Look at others around thee, aren't they glad?
Why not, for once, let words have their free reign?
Then thou wilt feel such joy thou can't contain,
Don't live on subtractions, just let smiles add ~
                                     What aileth thee?

Falling silent beneath a sky full of stars
Whimsical dreams bid farewell to the heart
Who holds them within, wishing them free reign
Through the crimson veins of light and laughter
Love that abides now and in the land of the hereafter

Innocent Slips
By: Miracle Man
2/14/2021

Sometimes even the smallest things in life,
often weigh heaviest on one’s mind.
Innocent slips that can cut like a knife,
when another was trying to be unkind.

These thoughts re-birthed, in mind will stay,
in some dusty corner of psyche’s domain.
It’s from these thoughts our mind won’t stray,
they always return, as if given free reign.

It's the Twenty Fourth of May

It’s the twenty fourth of May
And we want to get away,
But Covid and our governments
Say we’d better stay away
From up at our cabins and stay
Bored at home each day.

So, we’ll stay at home and play
Board games…drink our ice cold beers
And give the Moose and big black bears
Free reign on our cabins for
This year and who knows …maybe next…
And how many more?

Premium Member Not the Nieman Marcus

Erik was incredulous.
He was twenty-eight, a neonate in the fashion world.
You are sure they said Nieman Marcus?
His wife smiled at him.
THE Nieman Marcus?
I guess so.
He was given free reign.
Youngest photographer to ever work for the Nieman Marcus.
Erik Madigan Heck, my friend.

Premium Member Free Reign

Racing for shelter, we defy the rain, our hearts a-song
The heavens open, we slosh, slide and splash along
Shaking our hair, water everywhere, we are free
To laugh, to live, to love, to be ourselves finally

Drenched to the marrow, we no longer care
We're alive now, soaked but thriving in downpour's air
We see who we are, the water's washed away our veneer
Baring exultant, triumphant souls, who passion's perils now dare

Sequestered Thoughts
Written: By Tom Wright
8-10-2019

I sequestered some thoughts today at dawning,
Other days I’ve allowed these thoughts free reign.
But today, I’ve a tendency, to sit here yawning,
Nothing worthy escapes though I rack my brain.

Perhaps its a temporary psychological block,
Because the hour of night, has now grown pale.
Or the interrupting chime of our grandfather clock,
But most likely, It’s just that my thoughts are stale.

Sail Away

Sail away
Cast off those hawsers
That tie the spirit to the quay
Lift the anchor of your soul…
Catch the wind in billowed sail
Set the course
Then sail away…

Permit the wind to be your master
Let chance rule the day
Take no heed of others needs
Embrace Nature…
Sail Away…

Free the binds that fetter feelings
Give free reign to oceans of emotion
Feel the deck beneath you reeling
Let the sea spray be your lotion

Free the tiller…to the whims of Nature
Loose the bonds to rote and routine
Feel the joy of rampant rapture
Loose the binds of mankind mean
And sail…sail away

Premium Member The Omniscience of God

The wise man lives with a conscious realization
that God sees knows and observes everything
for He alone is the maker of all history
nobody can change this fact whatever they bring

The foolish man is pleased to close himself
to the truth of God's knowledge about him
thinks only that he knows always best
such is the wisdom of man but so dim

The unconverted man has a conscience
for he knows there is indeed a God
but suppresses every thought of evidence
convincing himself eternity is flawed

But God brings divine reprobation
which is where God allows man a free reign
in their sinfulness rush into displeasing God
committing sins pleasurable full of stain

There's a cure for society to find redemption
that's getting hold of God's true view
as the forefathers had in the reformation
God's merciful forgiveness can make one all new

O blessed omniscient sovereign God
how we all should love and obey
you in this life for your own glory
then enjoy your infinite love for eternity
