I was never truly loved by anyone, only by myself, and even that I question. Poetry is my therapy, a mirror for self-evaluation. I've reached a point where I don't care what others think. Retirement has made me a free agent, the captain of my soul, free from others' demands. No more morning calls to the front desk, no more waiting for the clock to strike three. Time is now my own, and it means nothing to me.
I'll be there when I get there
unless it's boarding time in row three.
To love me is to know me,
and for me to love you, it takes strength and endurance. I've been there, and done that, and won't allow it into my life anymore.
I've endured humility and humiliation, questioning my love for myself. I lamented:

Time And Death Serve The Same Master
Time slowly eats away old people and solid rocks
when heard, comes with hammer and hard knocks
Shadow spirit coming within a dark misty cloud
sparing nobody be they young, old or too proud!
Streams flows from its onward racing unseen head
desperate cries and pleas, food it's gladly fed
Death and Time, ghosts riding the same sad rail
each its own free agent for Heaven and dark Hell
Eternity says that Time over Death is the master
Hope awaits each future,does no good going faster
Man fears both,so often crying sad,desperate pleas

Free Agent
well the final cuts have been made
I'm no longer part of the team
my talents no longer needed
but it was an incredible dream
I was likely out of my league
unable to stay the pace to keep up
my shortcomings finally showed clearly
still drinking from the old sippy cup
it was one hell of a ride
I still struggle to catch my breath
I had hoped this would last forever
last until my parting death
but you get exactly your deserving
now it's time to charge straight ahead
there are other teams still looking
for a capable body and head
I have lots of things to offer
so I will take my time to review
I am more than just a pretty face

Albert Pujols comes from the Cardinals in St. Louis.
He is a first baseman with great baseball prowess.
Left handed pitcher CJ Wilson also came.
This former Texas Ranger is at the top of his game.
Add them to the horses already in the stable,
and anyone can say the Anaheim team is quite able.
They can jump into first right out of the starting gate.
Los Angeles fans will see a team that is great.
In October, will there be a World Series trophy?
That will be an event with huge plausibility.
