"For loveliness needs not the foreign aid of ornament, but is when unadorned, adorned the most"
- James Thomson
She stood there unadorned, yet he loved her
For she left his simple heart all astir
Complicated she was, he understood
Their pairing made in heaven, it was good
Life sometimes works in miraculous ways
It brought them together, still does amaze
Unadorned before, now she's his soul queen
He feels like a king with a crown unseen
Joined forever by a bond that can't break
She is his to adorn, protect and take.
Government fiscal crisis
At least they defeated ISIS
Decisions made
Recognition fades
White house events
The political power spends
The perfect lawn
No one is forlorn
The grand tree in the foyer
Corruption ensues, what will they get? Perhaps a lawyer?
Press conferences and state dinners
Games are played, announcing the winners!
Trips to camp david
A piano is heard! Go and play it!
Speeches are sparing
Some think uncaring
Federal aid
Hurricanes come, assistance to be paid
Aggressive press
The ultimate test!
Foreign aid
Deals tone made
Climate change, some agree
What to do, plant a tree
GLITTERING GENERALITIES
I vow that you will be happily effected
If I am elected by your selection
At the forthcoming election.
With great dedication
I shall diligently bother
To uphold the glory of this great nation
Founded by our forefathers!
National debt,
Is dragging us under,
Forlornly unmet,
Tearing us asunder!
I shall keep economy healthy
By reducing taxes on the wealthy,
And allowing banks to freely operate
With no control of interest rates.
I shall supply for those who behave
Complete care, cradle to the grave.
Increased medical care for the elderly,
Even youth, rash and pimply.
Our democracy will be securely laid
In backward nations
By increasing foreign aid,
And greater exportation.
I’m a strong proponent of women’s rights.
Against abortion I will continue to fight.
We’ll peacefully solve disputes
By fair judiciary
And dig out their roots
By increased military.
So, as you can see
As I’ve said repeatedly,
It is my intention
To reduce government intervention,
So that we can get
Out of our national debt.
Remarkable in brewery and port, foreign aid and cheese production
founders of the twin Giants of the nation within the oceans
having the cultivating- Land of glowing lights;
a global focal point in bicycle riding
and a historic mountain top in windmill usage,
yet named as a glorified settlement but also a low one.
Popular in its mayonnaise pasted French fries, oldest in its Anthem,
first in anything Gin Liquor and biggest in coffee consumption.
Possesses the highest milk tolerance and has the best welcome to children
with the tallest inhabitants within a defined territory in the globe.
The sounds of its difference is worth itching the ear
and the capture of its glory is an amazing nutrient to curiosity.
No need to go local with these factual flattery
b’cos even through these words, it’ll show some comprehension and gratitude.
Are You There God?
Are you there god,
And not just a voice,
A sound in my head,
Or just a life-choice?
Are you not just a reflection,
Of what goes on in my life;
Friendships, events, occurrences,
And the things that cause me strife?
Do you not just soak up my guilt,
Of not giving foreign aid to Africa,
Not showing care to my friend,
And not doing what’s right without end?
Are you physical, tangible,
Touchable by my hands,
Able to be defined,
Ready with discernment stands?
The physical is true and real,
And determines the social;
It’s me that's responsible,
For my actions, thoughtless or noble.
You are not there at all,
But I can always ask,
For a greater confidence,
In my life task.
You can't elicit or evoke,
As someone would;
You're not in any way proactive,
But just a personality hood.
People console and listen,
Take away your fear,
Stop the insecurity,
Dry the wetted tear.

Sending foreign aid just doesn’t make sense
With American families living in tents
Just how many countries rushed to give cash
When into New Orleans Katrina crashed
San Andreas fault runs through our nation
Cross Western states, widespread devastation
Our British, Aussie and Canadian friends
Are the only ones on whom we can depend
Uncle Sam’s pockets are bare; there’s no gold
To back the dollars printed multifold
Countries that dislike “rich Americans”
Always look to us with their outstretched hands
If a mega-disaster should strike Iraq
We’d offer support, say, “We’ve got your back”
And yet these nations would sneer at us still
The debt-ridden states abound with good will
Charity, they say, should begin at home
But to other nations our dollars roam
“Say, buddies,” we beg, “can you spare a dime?”
As out of poverty we seek to climb
This was the hit heard all over the world
It could have went another way but chose to come ours
It’s fury was very mighty and we were at it’s mercy
Watching the news day in and day out on everything going on
All the people with no homes, jobs, clothes or food
Nothing to wash down the taste of fear in their mouths
All of them thinking what will happen to us now
Where will we go for shelter
People still searching for loved ones
Wishing and praying there is, still hope out there in America
Yet it seems we are getting no help
This is not how it should be
This is not the America we fight for freedom for
They say we are doing what we can but I still don’t see much getting done
Who will finally open their arms
Open their arms to help the ones who need it so badly
How can you just turn your head and not feel the pain
For us who this did not happen to we should feel very lucky to have what we do
Now if most could just understand what it’s like to have nothing
To have everything you worked for gone with a blink of an eye
How can we rush to foreign aid but can not help our fellow Americans
