TWINKLES THE EXCEPTIONAL LIGHTS

Twinkles the exceptional lights.
Her Christmas eyes, holiday green.
In the dark you can see her whites.
Shines like the moon on Winter nights.

Her acres startle of twilights.
Twinkles the exceptional lights.
Flamboyant blinker-pomp excites;
And heaven’s angels it delights.

Illuminated halo heights.
Seraphims and cherubims praise.
Twinkles the exceptional lights.
She can’t see what’s out of her sights.

On Holiday she set her sights.
For where does she find the brilliance?
God’s moral code - not wrongs but rights.
Twinkles the exceptional lights.

To See Your Exceptional Smile Sparkle

I offer to you my sweet heart every day
In lieu of heaven and honey cakes
I offer to you bouquets of pretty flowers
To see your sensational smile sparkle.

I think of you every second of the day
With you, I would like to go around
Around and around until I get ebriate
Where I’ll be dazed, and you, my love, bewildered.

Love does lavish wonders
Which schlep crazy happy days
Where I devote my faith and my ardor, to you, at all times.

Love opens wide the doors to great happiness
To let in the freshness of an eternal
And magical spring. Woman! I’m dreaming of old times.

Exceptional Days

Expect days
With brightness and love poems 
Expect these days of love like
When  the sun shines forever
Expect a day of night when
The moon beams the brightest 
Day of common madness flowers 
Flood
Hearts with electrifying gladness
With daydreams of lovers
Specialness  and lovestruck
Days of alluring ways

'exceptional,' His Benchmark

Integrity, his middle name
    'Tops' was his trademark
  Scrupulous in all he did
    'Exceptional,' his benchmark

  Low maintenance for every boss he'd had
    Beloved of his Mom and Dad
  When he married the girl next door
    They cut a rug on the banquet floor...

  Two years later, their marriage shattered
    His wife's emotions lay in tatters
  All she'd wanted was affection ~
    All he demanded was perfection

Exceptional Merit

~~Exceptional merit is easier to achieve
             by those who in themselves believe~~

A young pug of exceptional breeding
leaps to her owners side as he’s reading
She adores Jane Austin
In her books she gets lost in
And won’t budge ‘till it’s time for her feeding

Exceptional Times, Exceptional Measures

Exceptional times require exceptional measures
In our everyday lives we experience this truth
Times of stress, or, in rare incidence for pleasures
A challenge from our peers sparking curiosity,
Provoking us to engage in the most insane ruse
Wisdom shows itself in most annoying paucity
Comes the time when we eschew such rashness
But, in youth, almost every adventure is novel,
So, we entertain ourselves in unabating brashness
And exceptional times are replaced by maturity
Having experienced almost everything before
Comes the time when exceptional measures bore.

Living In Exceptional Times

Exceptional times call for exceptional measures
Going the extra mile, reveling in fine pleasures,

Seeking out the good things that enrich our lives
Often means going through some dusty archives,

Living and loving and, indeed, sometimes longing
Wherever we’re planted, let’s feel like belonging,

Making the most of whatever time fate allows us
Getting our notice without making much fuss,

Every individual must chart the course of their life
To spend it rather mirthfully, or, promoting strife,

In any case, of one thing we can be most assured
Whatever causes us pain will one day be cured.

An exceptional moment may turn out to be
A memory one will carry through the years,
Or, perhaps, a beacon in the darkest of times
When a tiny ray of sunshine one needs to see.

Exceptional Times Call

Exceptional times call for exceptional measures
Great leaders know this to be an incontrovertible fact,
Some, making tough decisions, have become treasures
When they bucked pressures, not hesitating to act.

All presidents have sought what is best for America
Although with their decisions many will disagree,
Clearly, most presidents have given their maxima
To keep our country, and all of her citizens, free.

Whatever your particular political persuasion is
Try to see beyond the foibles of the party in power,
Keeping in mind that occasionally anyone can fizz,
Can we not see beyond our own vaulted ivory tower?

We all want to live in the greatest country on earth
Cherishing the values our forefathers fought for,
Let’s all do what we can to enhance America’s worth
And never, never on anyone in need slam the door.

Many have forgotten we all came from immigrants,
Our ancestors who fled persecution and oppression
Will we, I fear, fall to pitiful insurrectionist militants
Eschewing civil voices and espousing illegal aggression?

An Exceptional Friend

You knew how to coax out a smile,
I never had a better friend than you.
The times I'd ignore you, you'd shy away:
and yet, stuck by me, when I acted crazy.

When I got sick, you wouldn't leave me
until you were sure I was okay.
And you were happy sharing my happiness,
feeling you are family.

I let you into my heart where few have been,
and have never regretted that.
But the time has come for me to say goodbye:
you were an exceptional friend.
And I know, if there is such a thing as a doggy heaven:
you're undoubtedly already there.
