How it relates to CUNY MEDGR EVERS COLLEGE
Opportunity
Education advance
Being given a chance for high learning
Excelling in one’s goals
Theory into concepts
Preparation for success
Medgar Evers College being alum with their story to tell.
Through the darkness
Wonders through a summer rain
Thunder and Lightning having surge
Bringing the fire to ignite
It became the feeling to write
Compose with contrast
Ideas full of memories
A past life to share
It was no time to just sleep
Nightlight construct
Letter by letter
Alpha sentences made it better
Sentences like tour guides
Look to the left and right in observe
Every word being a place never been
People, Places and Things
Here and there everywhere
Words saying, “This is who we are”
Accelerating like a car
The journey far
Not knowing where, but will get there
Mind in travels
Words sounding like a novel
Making words and sentences shine
Like a rising sunrise as the new day
Accomplished through the night before
Thoughts released
Feeling free
Once again world to see
Heart full of inspiration
Summer heart can bring perspiration
Sometimes excelling education
That summer night turned everything into possible
Hope administered
Conquer of the new day
Happiness and joy can come one’s way.
Algebra makes me feel stupid.
Equations and inequalities,
algebra makes me feel stupid.
I could have an A in the grade book, but that doesn't mean that I understand.
lost in class, barely turned that in on time.
Algebra makes me feel stupid.
So I drift into my own world.
But at least in my world, I'm not alone.
Algebra makes me feel stupid,
it's not my teacher's fault, but my own.
The problem is, I run on academic validation, more so than food or water,
so I sink.
pretend- and make them think
make them think I know what I am doing,
but I am on the brink.
the brink of failure.
Algebra makes me feel stupid.
once gifted, now barely scraping by.
once impressive
what makes me impressive?
certainly not my ability to solve complex algebraic expressions.
is it my ability to fake it?
to only raise my hand when I know the answer?
Is it too late?
is it too late to know the answers?
too late to say I don't understand and ask questions?
Algebra makes me feel stupid.
once excelling in school, now regular.

Thou hast engaged my hand,
With your fairy’s magic wand,
The ring which you placed on my finger,
Along with which I do all around your house- doth Linger.
Thee fairy more graceful even compared to Venus,
Thou pierced my heart with thy kindness,
I will forever with you be,
As I respect thy love and thee.
Thou hast the eyes of a fish,
Let me express you my life’s wish-
-That I want to live with thou forever,
And then say to separation- Never!
Thou art grace personified,
And thy words are music of love signified,
Thou art the Queen of My Heart,
And excelling love’s every Art.

whispered those words sweet
my soul adored my heart “gold”
yet in reality no rhythms beat
no love to call my own to hold
it’s like my
self-love is
s l o w l y
falling a p a r t
in my academics I excel
* like * gilded * stars * within * a * hollow * sky *
yet to myself I cannot tell
of love far nigh
Happiness Is a virtue a seed gently sown.
From the swinging, swaying whispers of your inner tone.
Your heart a preacher, a guide through the night.
Excelling as teacher, bringing shadows to light.
As thoughts twist and turn, like dancers in play.
They run and they hide from their dismay.
Inner demons bellow, fears take their stance.
Clashing and battling, disrupting your one and only chance.
But deep in chaos, an uncaring inner child awaits.
Yearning for peace, breaking down gates.
Embrace the unhinged, let the light shine through.
In the struggle for happiness, your spirit renews.
I always will remember when I was young
and wanting to be special in some nice way.
One person used the power in their tongue.
The dark clouds parted, and I felt a ray
of sunny joy come beaming down on me.
The person was my teacher of sixth grade.
She saw in me what others did not see.
My feeling not so adequate would fade.
I had not known that I was capable
of not just learning, but excelling too.
My confidence grew more unshakable.
By junior high, I had a brand new view.
If in my talents I would but believe,
great things with effort I could then achieve.
Non- living world to hold hidden consciousness.
Under some favourable circumstances
asd suitable environ, life originated from non- living sources.
Started journey
through unicellular to multi -cellular organism
accommodating plant kingdom
and entering into animal world.
Process of evolution went on billions of years
very slowly and still going on under gradual refinement.
Realisation sprouting from intangible intuition
twined with cognitive impulsion
igniting dormant consciousness.
Conflagrating confluence of confusion
leading to path of enlightenment
breaking contour of ignorance
converging to consciousness.
Consciousness is capability of analytic judgement
overpowering 'selfishness, greed, malice
Strong sense of right and wrong,
confidence to count on justice.
supporting sanity and humanity.
Continuous evolution of consciousness running
excelling and refining to reach summit,
merging to supreme power.
Tip Toeing
I'm taking steps
But quietly
I look to the left and to the right of me
And guess what I saw
I'm going excelling very far
Driven without a car
GPS takes you every which way
I got to tip toe but by faith
Quietly listening to God
For confirmation
To be great
And do according to his will
I am tip toeing into a big deal
Quietly seek
Wait for God to speak
Cease without knowing
Keep on tip toeing
You got to tread light
It's like training wheels
On a bike
At first, you learn
How to trust
Your instinct
Is that enough?
Or do you let go of your fears
Dry away those tears
Put a plan together
Tip toe through any weather
Every thing doesn't have to be seen
That's how you live out your dream
In life you grow
Somethings you have to let go
When you walk into a room
It gets light
The tunnel at the end is bright
Quietly seek
Wait for God to speak
Cease without knowing
Keep on tip toeing
Listen
Pay attention
Listen
Pay attention
Quietly seek
Wait for God to speak
Cease without knowing
Keep on tip toeing
(Repeat until chorus fades )

Perfect rhyme scheme soothes my ear,
Its rhythmic sequence subtly sways,
Lyrical images appear,
Excelling in iambic pace.
A perfect poem in and about -
Feather’s glory but above all -
It turns my senses inside out
Suffonsifies my seeking soul.
So where do I derive it from?
From the inside of outer form -
a Perfect Storm!

The Poodle is known for its smarts
For excelling at music and arts
But an owner was telling
Me after the smelling
They also blow nuclear farts
Engish poet Thomas Gray
with fine words had his way
Excelling at odes & elegy
sadly a lauratehip could not be ..

John is a Christian man, a philosopher, and a poet that
offers his talents, beliefs, and insights to all
honestly, openly, and with a compassionate, understanding heart,
never preaching, and yet, sure of his convictions.
His quote, "Sunsets are biased, because, they are naturally one-sided,"
allows us a glimpse of his good-natured hyperbole and dry humor.
More than a talented poet, John is to music what white
is to snow, the two are virtually inseparable.
Lyrical poems are his favorite mode of expression and
that allows him to combine his two loves, excelling at both.
Over the years, I've gotten to know John through his pen, but we
never met, till one day he dropped by, and I got to shake his hand.
