Enervating Poems

Premium MemberLISTEN n SHOUT N--- DEDICATED VERSE FOR SHASTA SIMMS ANTHOLOGY 2

Shoutin shouting, shouting shouting
Emotional confusing
I left my heart eyes blinded
I felt the breath of my words enervating
I just can’t drink a cup of water
While my heart is starving
So much am I craving the lust of myself?
Listen, listen, listen
Listen, listen to my heart sadden
Shoutin, shouting, pouting
Shouting, shouting, shouting

The Night's Chariot

Where death goes,
A whirlwind blows,
The night comes with its chariot,
Haloed by dark clouds.

Oh, night don't yet open your door,
For his soul is not yet ready to go into your store,
Don’t go into the night's chamber,
Awake from the enervating slumber.

Can you hear me, father?
Don’t go any further,
Lest the chariot come and chauffeur you away,
As you approach farewell quarters.

Summer is still my delight,
Let’s awaken the fond memories,
Guide me through the night,
I'll no longer be of dimmed sight.

Premium MemberTasting

Treacly sweet is the juice of summer berries,
enervating me to anticipate it upon my lips.
Savoring the confection of melted chocolate
is a delicious flavor to lick from my fingertips.

Intoxicating my palate, is a decadent wine.
Ripened grapes leave me in a euphoric state.
Bacchus would claim, "It's simply divine!"
To slake my thirst, I'd not choose to abate.

But there are other flavors, not so appealing...
salty tears that have coursed from my eyes
or the taste of goodbye from a lover's kiss.
Bitter is the sapidity of a soul's sorrowful cries.

After tasting pure honey of unmitigated love,
there can be no substitute for the syrupy mead.
When sipped from lips, once tenderly kissed,
the desire for more becomes an obsessive need.

Neighbor

You are one to a guy living close,
Who sometimes lets you in on his woes,
The wrought by nearness of abodes;
Families walking the same roads…

Neighbor don’t deny your Good Morning,
At noon over the slight still mourning:
“Our blocks in the same habitation
And soon hearts of equal palpitation”

Yep, The Controlled By Vicinity,
Ahead going to embrace unity:
To stretch the name fullest: Good Neighbor,
As minds should not conceive Bad Neighbor…

Sometimes mindful of competition,
Your steady progress for petition;
Furtive glances at your new garments,
As you keep renewing them laments.

The poor wearies the rich with pleas
“For just my breakfasts help out, please!”
The rich with enervating labor
As condition for grant of favor!

Still, when it matters submits to bond:
In cocktails of one another fond;
For the wife beater alerts a cop,
For another’s death could himself drop!

Death of a Malabar Grey Hornbill

That car swishes
along the forest road.
Who cares
about a poor bird in the age of lynching?
Its beak with berries in it
freezes.
Its mate hears
wing-beats that never near.

A bird lover’s thoughts grow
from the carcass.
He climbs up
the tree trunk
and drops
figs
through the slit in the sealed nest.
Beaks rise
from the enervating hunger.

The world needs
his deed.
Drooped wings
are countless.

Leisure

We sit back and gaze transfixed at the red blushing sky, The Sun spraying her with colors as he says ‘good-bye,’
We watch the molten gold drenching the floating cloud As the sleepy earth is slowly covered with a grey shroud.

We can listen intently to the breeze as it softly rustles by,
We may watch unhurriedly the vultures circling in the sky
We take out a book just to flip through its worn out pages,
We may wonder languidly, why the sleeping ocean rages.

There is no tension, no hassles, or any reason to hurry,
No problems to be solved, with not a cause to worry.
One can do what one wants, freely relax and meditate,
There’s no urgent call to duty, no assignment to update.

It’s good for one’s body; it is also excellent for the mind,
It is relaxing and enervating, best tonic you could find.
Leisure means freedom, it is valuable beyond measure,
It has no restraining shackles, Leisure is sheer pleasure.

Samskara

Samskara, jailer of my heart’s deepest passions
Enervating me and drowning my soul’s rapture
Karma’s imprint become love’s stealthy assassin
Lurking fiend of black depths evading capture

From my abyssal plain, a seismic accident
Atlantis resurfaces in nightmarish form
Decayed temple’s coral seaweed entanglement
Wretched thing’s agonized tentacles writhe and squirm

Fetid beast melts under gold sun’s dazzling rays
No longer, my heart ruled by this foul parasite
Spirit’s exultant victory over decay
Opened heart bounding, radiant love glowing bright

Seascape reborn, emerald flora unwinding
Into a bright mandala, my soul unbinding

Alternate first quatrain:

Samskara, heart fabric’s twisted bedevilment
Karmic burden, this partial soul paralysis
Kismet’s onerous imprint, my dark resident
Lurking fiend of black depths evades analysis

If you’ve a mind, let me know which you like better!

Alone In a Crowd

Enduring in crowd, living alone.
Pretense, engaged. Conspicuous stone.
Solace amid the silencing sound.
Social setting. Trapped and bound.

Paralyzed movement. Strangled tone.
Enduring in crowd, living alone.
Vexing stage, communal minefield.
Required presence, reluctantly yield.

Commons cheer congress repletion.
Fear seared soul. Nerves depletion.
Enduring in crowd, living alone.
Network demise. Allies not sown.

Quiet corner roost. Enervating mind.
Exiles migration, quest of my kind.
Refuge found. Fulfilled, intone.
Enduring in crowd, living alone.

Dormant Mind Sprouts Life

Fallowed mind on barren ground toils
Winter's cold streams radiant beams foil
No incubating current cuts through the dense soil
Muses' bright glint the dark, thick clouds roil
Blipping sparks can't light my sensory console
A dormant seed sprouts on a rocky knoll
Promising strands on frozen surface stroll
Chilling winds over shallow-rooted thoughts troll
Vapid ideas from stagnant un-imaginative threads loll
Without depth, the promising figments spoil
In due course, Spring's thawing tides do roll
On horizon's mount, azure panels scroll
The brighter patches degenerated conduits parole
Fecund spores with soaring visions cajole
Wispy tufts of dander blow into cranial hole
Into thawing seams, germinating inspiration bowls
Enervating muse, implanted seeds into interstices dole
Granules of wisdom brim from gilded boll
Leaving pod, enthralling, pearly grains silt the soul
The congealed fabric spins around each, sensory pole
Ginned fibers into imagination's colorful tapestry burrow

Life's Tides

Balmy sands of time
Buffered by briny bliss sublime
Cleansing tides filter malleable mind
Winds of change scour and grind
Revitalizing beams warm chafed strand
Enervating force; life's trials to withstand
Buffeting storms blow; the landscape rearranges
Eroding dreams; our outlook changes
Alternate channels evolve our hopes to renew
Rivulets sprout new paths to hew
Stagnant pools form; our resolve stagnates
Refreshing rains arrive; uncertainty abates
Silty streams flow back into the billowy sea
Purging life's dross; setting our soul free

Spring's Anthem: Regeneration and Reformation

The spring anthem doth now sound
Helpless eggs lie all around
Encased larva still tightly bound
Brooding mothers redound
Ingenious caretakers cover nest and mound
Ravenous predators scour tree and ground
Doting Queens have nests tightly wound
Succoring honey begins to compound
Aging pupa entombed all around
Nubile creatures more nutrition impound
Docile minions escape their waxy mound
Tracking nectar wherever flowers abound
Hovering matrons incubate above ground
Enervating heat the eggs must surround
Brimming yoke with new features expound
Emerging embryo can now be found
Emboldened chick with beak doth pound
Suddenly from cracked shell does new life resound.

The Four Elements: a Supernatural Force, a Human Resource

Mantle--a fluid shelf that cradles all existence;
Soil--a table that nurtures all subsistence
Flora--a cultivated canvas that neutralizes resistance;
Fauna--a habituated benefactor of indulgence.

Wind--a mysterious force of ambivalence,
Dispersing seed and spore with diligence.
Fondling cloak that cools with benevolence;
Powerful menace that uproots with violence.

Fire, generative force imbuing hearth with resilience;
A temporal light that provides luminescence.
Warming incubator, glowing candescence,
Brooding killer scorching with indifference.

Water--a random discharge of providence.
A vast reservoir of expedience.
An enervating stream that fuels with prescience;
An extractor that disperses with each recurrence.

Immutable elements with primordial affluence;
Material objects manipulated for human ascendence.
