Premium Member The Emoji That Went Astray

When I went looking
For it today
I noticed that a certain Emoji
Has gone astray!

I thought I hadn't seen it,
Skipped past it and missed.
Several times I've searched
And it is not on my list.

It really comes to something
When out of your control,
On your own device,
An Emoji goes AWOL....

It's a funny looking thing
For its eyes are not placed
In a central position
But either side of its face!

With is mouth in shock,
It somehow got away
For I can't find it anywhere!
This Emoji went astray.

the first emoji I expect

The Poet Who Almost Was

the life of a nearby poet was almost
lost in translation had it not been for
a probability of emoji ridden skirmish
in a late bank holiday spring. no-one
could imagine, upon crumbling desks
and dis-used ink blotters, such striking
permanence of an entire absence, and,
in a suddenness of ecstatic alliteration,
the seemingly poetic poet, who we will
call unlikely, would have simply died
a poets death among the classical drugs.
but luckily for us he's there. and there
he'll dangle, off horizons, behind ears.

The World Emoji Day

Blinking characters
Silent speakers

Awesome images
Emotional carriages

Beautiful thoughts
Words fought and mutes sought

Hiding behind hands
To make its own stands

The shy faces
Gladly embraces

While chatting
To avoid combatting...

Ah, yes! A jock can dream!
As depicted in Apple’s, latest,
Pregnant, male, emoji.

I imagine an overweight male,
In a slinky nightgown, hairy legs.
Puffing circles, from his very favorite stogie!

Premium Member I Like the Emojis

Dancer 2, kitty, whee, loveshower, pink, drums, if this makes sense
you might be also posting poetry on a different poetry site.
I discovered it about five weeks ago, and the most amusing part to me
is the emoji’s you can add to your comments.

Dancer 2 is a dancer that dances, whee is a happy face that waves,
love shower is yellow happy face being rained on by red hearts,
pink is a hopping up and down pink entity. Oh, and bunny jump
Bunny jump is a bunny that hops across the screen, turns and hops back.

PoetrySoup is always going to be my favorite poetry website,
because my friends are here, but if you think one poetry website is fun,
you might want to try two, especially if you do not like being limited to ten.
Ten here, ten there, who can write more than twenty poems a day?

Okay, maybe on a rare day, but some days ten is pretty tough,
especially if you are pretty new to the poetry genre, and do not have
back up poems, because some of us do not. I am hoping this is blank verse.
I have never done blank verse before, so could this be? Hm. I guess I will soon know.

Premium Member My Petootsie Mootsie Cutesy Mood

I am in a petootsie mootsie cutsey mood today.
No one can take this from me in any kind of way.
So watch out, because no matter how mad you are
I am a princess of fun and happiness today, a shining star.
No matter how many spider web wrinkles are on your face,
You cannot put me in any kind of terrible awful place.
No matter how ugly your behavior is, I do not care.
You can toss your angry navy blue cloud up in my air.
You can do what you can, but I cannot feel you today.
You cannot take my petootsie mootsie cutsey attitude away.
I am twirling, and girl-ing, happy, slappy, so do not waste your snappy.
I am glowing today, writing poetry, painting canvases, extremely happy.
Whatever you do, I know is not directed toward me.
You can be as nasty and hateful as you want to be,
I am a happiness queen, my heart is light, I am loving life,
I do not care; I do not even notice your stress or strife.
I am all about my joy today, feeding it in the best of ways.
I will remember this day here on out, ‘til the end of my days.
Do not even try to get me down, for wasting your time you will be.
I am the petootsie mootsie cutesy me today, my own happy little me.

Premium Member Deciphering Emoji Poetry

What do these Emojis mean
When sent to me en masse,
Should I read much into them,
Should I even ask,

What a seed beside a smile
Beside a thumbs up even means,
How it looks inside my mind,
How it even reads,

I guess the meaning’s not that bad,
I guess it must be good,
I guess the lack of nasty here,
Is something understood,

These modern hieroglyphic poems,
Sent to my little phone
I guess they show that people care,
That I’m not alone.
