Under eighteen
hot tears spilling
nowhere near serene
at the end of your rope
cannot cope
need fulfilling
please don't mope
there's always hope
here's the dope
find someone thrilling
you can soft-soap
who is willing
and won't say 'Nope'
to a clandestine marriage
on the slippery slope
of the blacksmith's anvil
hire the carriage
you prefer
defer the billing
and elope

I've heard that cantaloupes can't elope
It's against their moral code
And rhubarbs are NOT allowed to argue
Lettuce entertain you
I've heard that people sometimes turnip and pea
Not a very classy bunch I must say!
When you give somebody a raspberry it's very rude
Had another good one but it got squashed
Gourd won't let me make fun of his name
Grapes are not allowed to gripe
Bet you're not wild about figs... that figures
If you take a leek in a supermarket
Security will beet you on the melon
When the cashier picks up your fruit
It's okay to say, “that's a nice pear you have there”
If you give a horse a radish, they'll spit it back at you
I don't see what they've got to grape about
Okay that one was kinda corny
Cauliflowers are pretty in the spring
...beets me

I was riding the bus to work
One day,
When the fellow sitting next to me
Turned to say
There’s an interesting article
In the newspaper today.
I looked at him,
My curiosity was roused.
Page seven he he said, if you care to browse.
I unfolded my paper and
Turned to the page.
Two-words caught my eye.
As I started to read,
I scratched my head.
Was this a mistake,
I questioned myself.
But sure enough
It was true
A Pope eloped yesterday afternoon

Happiness is only a state of mind
That, in any situation, we can find
To anyone, we can turn to be kind
It gets support from God behind
We can tackle life by being calm
We can have peace despite storm
Our strong mind, nothing can harm
If, to God, via prayer, we inform
We needn't have fear or tear
If our mind is made very clear
God-faith will pump real cheer
As God alone helps my dear
Our mind, we can easily condition
By putting to God a prayer-petition
If approaching God is our decision
We can be sure of the salvation
Make with all maximum adjustment
Do the present task with commitment
Never drop having a kind sentiment
Every second, life is an experiment.

Gently flowing to the music
Intensely aware of his touch
Caressing her waist admiringly
Like he always felt as such
~~~
Dreamily whispering in her ear
As they greedily listened with hope
For even more of these feelings
Which promised they would elope
I once scout for fresh forages
out of my mother’s shoes
over the coast, on the other side
I wish, hoped, and heard of praises
Only in my heads, not in my eyes
They are special specs, taller than normal
High as palms, greener than sour lemon
Melodies on my drunken ears, whispers on my naïve mind
Didn’t ask for a proof, before I fell
So I sold my mother’s shoes, my legitimacy
My freedom, my fit, no longer mine
Because I had rum for stories, I wanted all of it
And spent all on it
Smiling to the mirage, crying to the mirage
Cus I had bought an oversized shoe
I may never fit, I never heard
I'm half agony, half hope
With my silenced voice
And no other choice
But to elope.
Letting go, wishfully glum
Of my life thus far,
Follow the star
To freedom.
For society did shove
In our hearts a dent
We weren't meant
To fall in love.
Borrowed the first line from Jane Austen.
Dedicated to all those who have been prey to man made divisions, boundaries and societal norms. It's time we break free and not be contained within these illusional walls that keep us from reaching out to one another. Let's break barriers and speak the language of love.
I don’t remember where I was,
when the Earth became my lover
Surrendering herself to me,
enticing all endeavor
Canyon Walls and Glacial Cliffs,
whose depths and heights I wander
Memory folding in upon itself,
my heart immersed in splendor
I now find love with every breath,
and every sight that lingers
As joy is wrapped in every smell,
that sets my thoughts to ember
To walk as one within the arms
of seasons, wind, and weather
Renewed of hope where dreams elope
—remarried to forever
I can't elope with him,
when you're the apple of my eye.
So, don't be a gooseberry green,
and hurt my feelings to make me cry.
Currant-ly, now, I'm dreaming,
of being your precious Honeydew.
So, don't think he a-peels to me,
for Darling, I'm plum in love with you!
We could build a house on Strawberry Lane,
you and I, in our own caper-ous stew.
So, I'm raisin' my hopes high,
that on a set date, you'll say, "...forever, I do!"
Paw-paw is slow to give us his blessing,
as nervously your palms sweat.
So, indulge him, his corny tales of old,
then, Sweet Pea, just tell him, I can't elope- yet!
I didn't know
where inspiration went
nor why it absconded!
My desire to write
eloped with my imaginative drive.
A choking crowd,
ideas stayed locked
in my small head
and I didn't know
how to ease them out.
