You And I

In blue water I'm going down
swept away by the tide all sense left behind
in dark waters I might drown
caught in the current out of my mind
holding my breath and hoping
my love for you will stand the test of time
out of my depth and hanging on
for the day you say you are mine
in over my head

Held, Anchored I Drown

For some time, have I floated—mildly adrift.
One killick holds me—not too deep, not too swift.
Though life threw waves, to force me down—this slightly rusted metal had held me.
I thought I would be safe… until other anchor bound.

The First To Drown

The Earth isn't dying—no, she's screaming, a sound you've stopped hearing.
she cried when girls walked miles for rusted, tainted water,
when ancient forests become forgotten, ash–filled pyres,
no worn map ever dared to mark. 

In my homeland,
we don't fear the tempest's furious might. 
We fear the silence –
The hollow echo of empty, cracked wells, 
the desolate stretch of barren,

Will I Drown

And as the numbers rise
So does the water
The waters of insecurities
That I am slowing drowning under

 The world is full of judgment.
 All eyes are on us.
 No matter what we do, it’s wrong to others.
 They should look in the mirror as it shatters.
 We can escape to a place far away.
 Out in the country someday.
 A journey into the unknown.
 A place where no one

In a field of bitter thoughts, where sunrises drown in shadows of silence

We are often surrounded by faces sculpted from the clay of boredom,
Heavy heads like potatoes forgotten in the barren soil of banality,
Perched on shoulders wearing suits of shadows, tasteless, lifeless,
And their lives slip through like a thin thread of sand in the hourglass

Drown Me

The swirling deep blue of the water before my pained eyes,
Reminding me who I am, 
You stand next to me, 
A single tear rolling down your porcelain face, 
Glistening as it falls,
The water below the cliff catches it happily, 
For it feeds on sadness,
Woe only causes it to prosper, 
Causes it to grow, 
You face

Sinking, lost, into the dark blue
Unknown abyss rises, without a clue
Panic rising, heart is pounding
Terror reigning, no sounding

Gasping, choking, lungs burn to ashes
Waves crash down, throat closes in dashes
Bathed in green despair, sinking blind
No longer here, a watery shrine

Fading slow, I let it all go
A final farewell, as my life ebbs low

We sat within the murky depths;
belief just gripped belief's belief.
