Notes About The Poem

If To Love You, I Must Drown

If to love you, I must drown, let me, Dear, not drown in water. I wish to lie beside you and drown in the profound - of your chestnut chocolate eyes. Say my name. Let if fall silken from your lips. I sink into a euphoric abyss imagining your mouth on the nape of my neck - the whisper of it drifting delicately until tenderly you tempt me with your first soft kiss upon my lips. Inundate me with every kiss. There-after, I would gladly drown in the deluge of that tiramisu bliss. Engulf me with lavender longings that crescendo to a cardinal craving with every inch of my skin that the feathery fingers of your beautiful hands paint upon my quivering body with crimson caresses. Let me die slowly, submerged in your ambrosial ardor, melting with the luscious lava of our love.

Congratulations dear poetess on your top win in this contest with a top romantic poem that so expressively conveys feelings of love. I have not tried my pen on such areas, prefering more philosophical, spiritual, nature and related topics. Sending you the blessing of light.

Thanks so much. I was trying to let myself be inspired by your own style of writing. I think it was the passionate theme that helped. I can't write this way ordinarily in free style way

Thanks. I had fun with this trying to adopt a style of writing like Ink's and knowing I could never measure up to it but at least I gave it a try!

"that the feathery fingers of your beautiful hands paint upon my quivering body with crimson caresses." -- Valsa now you; something in the writing air tonight beside mosquitoes and pollen. I live in the wrong neighborhood apparently. Love it!

A wonderfully sensuous write, Andrea… you’ve damned near got me all a quiver ;-) Enjoyed the chocolate and tiramisu similes… if only you’d mentioned hazelnut ice cream… I might well have fainted… Ho hum!

Hmmm I would consider changing out chestnut for hazelnut but it would ruin my alliteration with chocolate!! Thanks for you comment
