Fire Drake

FIREDRAKE

A dragon I have slain in the past has
Come back to find me as I sleep in the 
Arms of a pale white dream

He hides within the catacombs of my soul
Seeking to devour the very essence of 
My being

His fiery breath scorches the foundations
Of my emotions melting away my sanity

His talons rip at my conscience

i've just written a Drake diss track

it's quite good actually
Jericho likes it - 
but i'm struggling not to giggle
as i lie on the bed in the middle
of the night

my wife is not giggling
she is asleep
but i am certain i heard giggling
through the wall
yes, the neighbours are giggling

both of them
i look for the saw
because i want to join them
through the wall

English poet and painter William Drake -
enjoyed little fame in his lifetime, for heaven’s sake.
A BBC’s poll of 100 great artists put him at 38.
Posthumous recognition sadly was his fate.

The Drake Curse and Messi's Wizardry

who some thought was a bit of a flake.
On Plymouth Hoe he stood
while playing with his wood 
not knowing that history

How many galleons per mile
Were spread the grand Armada fleet,
Hoping strong England to defile
After a huge naval defeat?

Surging steady through stormy seas

To drag brave England to its knees
With solemn Spaniards sans smiles?

Dark clouded seas were fierce and vile.
Tempest scattered ships hit the coast

A Man Called Drake

Always beware of a man called Drake
Give him a wide berth for goodness sake
He will surely run amuck
Drakes are flirts
Ask other Ducks!

Drake Bays

A baby none the less - born into a broken home. 
At first sight, knows nothing of his loving father.  
With blue eyes, blonde hair, a white smile - just like his father. 
A skin tone in match with his difficult and distracting and deranged mother.

Mallard Duck Pond Sitter

Mama mallard
Shaped like a well-sailored ship
From Columbus' voyage
With a flipped up tweakable tail

Enjoying motherhood
Followed by five ducklings,
Quacking and cavorting
Livening up pond

Feathers shining, 
Proud beak,
Sharp black eyes, 
missing nothing.

Helping ducklings 
Gain confidence they will need
to raise their own ducklings.

Thank the Creator, we are in 2019
How we got into this year is a mystery
Earlier we faced a lot of problems, but

Over the land covered in suet, singed by storms of fires
The Fire Drake surveyed for any breath of life remaining
The humans decidedly in unification ended all existence
Hovering over Elysium once occupied by eternal Spring

It considered all things and then it took to flight

Guess who just popped out of the woodwork
Good old Drake Eszes, can't hide my smirk
A friend from back when
