William Drake

English poet and painter William Drake -
enjoyed little fame in his lifetime, for heaven’s sake.
A BBC’s poll of 100 great artists put him at 38.
Posthumous recognition sadly was his fate.

It is sad that people are not able to enjoy love and recognition they duly deserve while still alive. Well written Clerihew Andrea !

Hi Andrew, I'm not familiar with Willam Drake. I agree that is sad. Makes the old saying "ring" true. " Give me my flowers while I'm still here( or something like that). I will go check him out. Best wishes in the contest;-) Alexis
